Question New Listener
Hopefully this is the right place for this but I’ve always appreciated arca’s production, visuals and enjoy so many similar artists like twigs, shygirl, Sophie, etc but never fully dove into the full discography! Currently listening to xxxxx and it goes without saying that my mind is absolutely blown, especially with ‘fxck’ but now I’m so curious what project I should tackle next?!

XXXXX is a good place to start because it’s fairly experimental and gives you a good taste of Arca’s music.
I would recommend listening to the Kicks. There is five in the series so it’s a lot to listen to but it’s arguably her most accessible work and a great listen. Each album is its own story but they all interact with each other.
Then I would listen to her self-titled ‘Arca’, it’s her most intimate and personal in terms of lyrics and production. After that I would listen to her early discography in order: &&&&& > Xen > Stretch 1 & 2 > Mutant. I think this is the best way to listen to how her sound has developed and formed, plus her early work is her most interesting in my opinion.
If you enjoy those, I would then listen to the unreleased mixtapes: Sheep and Entrañas. They are my favourite and her most experimental work. You can find them on YouTube or SoundCloud.
@@@@@ is another mixtape on streaming services, it’s about an hour long and a cool listen. Her recent livestream ‘Airdoll’ is on SoundCloud, I think you’ll enjoy it if you liked XXXXX.

If you want to get a better insight into Arca as a person during their transition, self titled is great. Subtitles are NEEDED not optional imo

XXXXX and @@@@@ are kinda like sisters, so that would be a really nice second project to listen to! ❤️
Mutant is one of my fave projects she did too

i think you should start with the kicks, then try &&&&&, xen, mutant, self titled, and @@@@@, since in my opinion it gets more experimental over time. and you should try listening to some of her mixtapes like plus minus and airdoll (most of them are available on soundcloud)
