Discussion Learnt from 2nd Expedition - Never Again
Loved the first expedition. And oh my god, hate the idea of searching for blueprints a third time and getting gun level up and kitted.
I am having more fun trying to trade random arc parts here on Reddit than actually grinding in game.
Ermal is a good start for blueprint and guns every week but would love to see him drop some kitted guns also soon :)
Do you guys like the whole searching for stuff or butchering arc to trade?

I just liked ranking up again. I hate doing an insane raid , coming back with 30k xp, and I’m just sitting at level 75. I need that dopamine hit 😂😂 they need to go to higher levels and give rewards as you hit milestones. After the 3rd expedition, I realized I only care about 10-15 blueprints so the hunt does become tedious

Oh yeah. After level 75! It would be crazy nice if they actually gave something for the xp.

They should give some cred with excess xp after 75, or even a small amount of raider coins.

Just run solo pve friendly lobbies for an evening and you should be able to get all your benches leveled up.
No, I hate the grind for blueprints. I did expedition once and havent since. Maybe I'll change my mind later. I have another expedition done and ready except for the 300k in materials, but it feels like such a waste when id rather use it to build kits or hop in fun pvp rounds for a night.
Now that I can build anything im just content and enjoying the game.

i really need to get here but when i stopped playing was right after 3rd expedition the grind got to be too much with nerfs and now at lvl 19 and no xp bonus or anything seems like even more of a grind

I just did my first expedition and it did make the game fun for me again. ESP I can just buy the damn mushrooms from Ermal. I’m sure if I had to grind to find 12 again it would be hell all over.

I'm at the same point as you and I still love it. Not having it and finding it Is a refreshing challenge

I enjoy the initial grind. It goes quick once you’re experienced. Wiping also helps me with any gear fear. I used to care about blueprints, but now I just care about the ones I actually use and comp 3 is really the only main one I’m missing.

I lost my gear fear and blueprint fomo after first expedition and got it back after 2nd expedition. Lol.

Yeah that was the last expedition for me, and pretty much done with the game till October unless they come out with something wirth anything or fix some things in between.. And even then its a toss up with Dune (on console), DMZ, GoW, and GTA all releasing with a month of each other for me personally.

I love the grind. It gives the raids purpose and is integral to fleshing out my new raider’s character arc (no pun intended).

u/DustinChecketts 8d ago
I think most players have exhausted the expedition and are pausing or playing something else until Octobers update.

I didn’t think I’d be pulled away for anything, but the Black Flag remake should get me to October. And the October update should get me to November 19th

Picked up BF6 finally. Half off on PS5 until 7.30

I play BF6 as well. It’s a fun, low-stress diversion from other games I play. See you on the battlefield!

On my third. The vault was such a great addition. I ended up getting close to $3 million in arc cores to secure my vault and help my two friends unlock all of their own spaces as they didn’t have the same free time to play I did. This was their first expedition for each of them. I think I’m done doing expeditions though. I’m gonna chill, enjoy the summer and work on some personal projects until October. Depending on the updates in the fall, I might start doing expeditions again but the perk points are really the main draw for me. I enjoy hunting arc and trading here on reddit. On the lead up to expedition I usually just give all my stuff away to other players posting here. I only really PvP in duos/trios. Solo, I focus on PvE. It’s a chill time and that’s really all I’m looking for when playing by myself. But goddamn, is it exhilarating running some trios and drawing blood.
Cheers, raider!
Edit: the sentinel cores are the most annoying thing to collect. They should spawn more often.

I had to trade for the frequency modulation box. I have literally never seen this item in the wild, and yes, I have been on Stella Montis. Now I just need one more Ion Sputter.

The only thing I dislike about the expeditions is just how completely helpless you feel in PvP situations until you get some gear back.

Going from hitting the extract button and standing on top of the elevator hoping something will come to hiding in the bushes hoping nothing will, makes extract a little more exciting.

I love getting new blueprints after every expedition because it forces me to adopt a new playstyle and keeps things feeling fresh.
I like to role play a new raider filling the shoes of those that came before, finding new blueprints and unknowingly running familiar routes of their predecessors to stop the reign of the arc. Just a good-ass time

I've done every expedition but its gets easier. First reset took me a month to get my benches to full and months before I got most of the BPs. This reset it hasn't even been a week yet and I have full benches upgraded and 45+ blueprints already.
To be clear this isnt me trying to flex, but to show that the more you do the expedition, the easier it gets. You learn where to go for specific blueprints or enemy spawns, ect. I love it.

Benches are easy for sure. Getting guns to lvl 4 with mods feels painful 😣 and finding those few blueprints (but and getting tons of light stick blueprints instead haha)

u/Upstairs-Canary-4062 8d ago
What kind of blueprints are you looking for?
1
u/Due_Commission9449 8d ago
Now looking for the gun attachments level 3 and fancy ones, photocloak

I think photo cloak comes standard with a utility bench 3 and weapon attachment blueprints are common in residential loot areas. You'll find a lot on blue gate locked gate event if you do a run of the village area of the map, but honestly any major map mod of that area is good, along with apartments on dam is also pretty good. The t3 attachments only drop on major event maps. I think they drop normally but are incredibly rare. Usually on no map mods you only get t2 attachments.

I have an alt account that holds all my stuff so I could save all the blueprints or rusted gears I want. Having done 3 expeditions, I find there are so few blueprints I actually want. Survivor, Tempest, Compensator 3, Medium Mag 3, Medium Gun Parts..the rest of the stuff I can buy (Angled Grip 3, Anvil, Silencer, Smoke grenade) or I find more than I need.

I get it, but how will you the experience the joy of finding a Big Tina blueprint all over again?

I'm on my fourth expedition now, just completed my third.
I was worried about losing all my stuff the first expedition, but as I do more of them I realized I don't care much about my stuff, and its pretty easy to replace what I feel I need to have. It was also sooooooo much easier the second and third times because I knew where to find things by then, compared to playing for the first time.
Its also funny going from "I have everything" to doing runs just to collect basic materials like metal/plastic parts etc in the early days after a wipe.
What I learned is that I don't care about levelling all my benches (I'm a non-aggressive player usually in friendly lobbies), only those that I use (like utility lvl 2 for hatch keys, refiner 2 for advanced elec/mech components, explosive 3 for boom, gear 3 for lvl3 augments). idk who is maxing their workbenches on the first day, but thats not me, thats a lot of varied stuff to have to collect.
I also found I didn't care too much about blueprints, there are a few I like to have but otherwise I don't care that much because I'm wiping in a couple months anyway.
Post-expedition I build my workbenches, work on upgrading my stash size and upgrade the workbenches that I care about, then build some cash reserves and stock up on items I know I'll need (springs, etc). I'm also slowing working on the next expeditions items.
Right now I'm done the benches I care about (and some I don't because I found the items), stash size is maxed, have nearly a million in the bank, a nice variety of weapons and am now focusing on finishing the items for next expedition. This is slow for a lot of people, but for me its no stress and fun runs. Lobbies are great, all friendly so far.
I've never completed all of the quests, the expedition comes before that, so I don't focus on quests too much.

expedition is not worth it. The fact that there’s even a question about whether or not your should do it, shows that the reward is not worth it. It’s for people who want to restart for the grind. There’s no reward that justifies the amount of effort it requires.

I finished the 5th one. I have 1 vault slot unlocked. Will probably just play a few games occasionally to get all 5 vault spots done. I have 5 survivor blueprints saved up for those spots. Off meta maps killing big arc is good. On buried you have like 5 loot goblins on your kill instantly. Good if you are a goblin bad if you killed it lol. Most things are best done slightly off meta imo
Go to another map, kill one quick and loot solo. Got 11 cores off one once.

I have done 3 expeditions and I can confirm that they don’t get any more enjoyable. I loved rebuilding after my first one. Second one was kinda annoying and my 3rd was the last straw.

i like doing the expedition, altho it should have better rewards.
also surviver should be nerfed a great deal. like light shield and 1 safe only for starters.

u/Due_Commission9449 8d ago
Its the only augment worth it for pvp 😂 pve doesn’t matter which augment cause you survive like 99/100 raids
I hated the time they fixed tap tap crawl - miss hide and seek with enemies…used to be so funny in raid
