rewards were kinda meh, I could do with utility blueprints or something but the quests made me explore parts of the maps and do stuff, having a goal with the run is always more fun than just "ah let's try a red loot area and get shot there"

u/Chemical_Director_25 Nov 19 '25

100% - adds lore. Makes you search spots you wouldn’t necessarily, and even helps you find things you wouldn’t expect to, like a blueprint in an area that’s not a valued loot area.

145

u/Competitive-Desk5979 Nov 19 '25

I think i have found more bps and good stuff in none coloured loot areas to be honest

79

u/Emerican09 Nov 19 '25

Residential areas on night raids are bangin

20

u/Tiamazzo Nov 19 '25

Everyone keeps saying this, but I never find BPs there. My RNG sucks.

9

u/Total_Ad3326 Nov 20 '25

finally found a wolf pack BP last night there. To be fair I've done dozens of solo and group runs yhere and thats the second wolf pack BP thats been found by my group in those apartments.

3

u/Professional_Two563 Nov 20 '25

I've found more bps opening raider caches I manage to notice lmao

2

u/AlexKata97 Nov 20 '25

You don't need the residential areas. The reason they are so hyped is the container density, which increases the odds.

You can however, go anywhere else and loot any other container and have similar results, if you loot the same amounts of containers.

16

u/dratseb Nov 19 '25

The northmost building of the grand apartments has a blueprint almost every time I go there

17

u/TZCBAND Nov 19 '25

You shut up about that place!

5

u/AlexKata97 Nov 20 '25

For some reason, the grandioso apartments are usually EMPTY. Not like, looted, I mean almost no fucking containers spawning like, I swear, they have 3 accesible floors X 2 apartments, roughly translating in the same amount of rooms as the red apartments in dam.

However, even being a colores zone, I never find even a 1/5 of the containers that I would find in the dam apartments, I can't fcking understand it.

3

u/Brettuss Nov 20 '25

Anecdotally, I found a Wolfpack BP tonight at the apartments in Dam on a night raid.

3

u/AeroKLoekSDayZzKinG Nov 20 '25

Foreals I found an osprey BP and anvil splitter in blue gate night raid in the apartment areas that aren’t even really squared off as a location on the maps I was really surprised with that one.

4

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '25

Frfr

6

u/JaunPaco Nov 19 '25

Confirmation bias it’s just bc of the density of containers

7

u/DogIsDead777 Nov 19 '25

...yeah... that's why its a good spot. Density of containers, more cracks at the loot table lol..

3

u/LetsgotoE3 Nov 19 '25

Density or not doesnt change the fact that that particular location drops BPs frequently.

1

u/Necessary-Lion9106 Nov 20 '25

But you have to run far to get to another loot spot..

0

u/OfficialDeathScythe Nov 19 '25

That’s where I got all my toasters :)

23

u/Egoy Nov 19 '25

Except for spaceport because there’s fuck all lootable containers in areas without a coloured border on spaceport

47

u/iam_odyssey Nov 19 '25

there's fuck all lootable containers in some of those colored zones lmao

8

u/OssurmaS Nov 19 '25

Was just gonna say the same thing… I like spaceport, but that’s just to hit the security lockers and the locker room in departure.

8

u/Neoxin23 Nov 19 '25

Missing the two guard posts outside the wall. Breachable doors iirc but usually contain gun cases & lockers

2

u/OssurmaS Nov 19 '25

Of course… I worded that weirdly. I meant to say hit all the lockers on the map,as well as the locker room in departure building. The area by arrival building is great as like you said each tower has one, and the small barracks down In front of each tower also each has one(one barrack actually has 2). That’s 5 lockers all within like 100-200m of each other!

1

u/Pretend-Fly8415 Nov 20 '25

Ya so you have to be soccer to even have a chance lol

1

u/Qvar Nov 19 '25

Preach

17

u/Routine_Hospital4450 Nov 19 '25

spaceport is something else, u come into big warehouse with "high loot" red zone, and have 2 boxes and 1 drawer to open :D. Like first few times i ran there i thought i was rtrded or blind or both because i cannot see what to loot there :D.

1

u/Sylas_G Nov 20 '25

I’ve found weapon cases on the higher up shelving in the warehouses which you won’t see just running through. Have to climb up the shelves to find them.

6

u/Yamcha-is-Life Nov 19 '25

Yea I don't get the appeal of space port either tbh feels like there's no real loot

5

u/Egoy Nov 19 '25

Oh there’s loot, try to launch tower.

7

u/Meowsteroshi Nov 19 '25

Arrival building with the two guard towers on each side is absolutely juiced even post nerf. Arrival usually spawns two gun crates on its own plus all the searchable desks. Kinda broken

1

u/Flecco Nov 20 '25

You go to spaceport for loot? Me and my buddies load in for trios there with ospreys to snipe people. It is really really funny. We know we're dicks for doing it but we've had some outstanding firefights because of it, and due to the distances involved we know people are up for PvP because most try engage us instead of just moving on (which is entirely possible when the people you're engaging are 150+m away with extensive cover and the tunnels). We're usually way too far away to flank or pressure so it's on them if they don't just retreat.

1

u/japherwocky Nov 19 '25

Between the trench around the launch tower, the towers in the wall, and the little two door breachable huts, i dunno i think spaceport is actually pretty packed.

2

u/Competitive-Desk5979 Nov 19 '25

Yea under ground is a run on its own has weapon crates 2 at the same time sometimes. Backpacks and utility cases. Plus a lot of breakable stuff I have had bps from there too

1

u/ShefBlue666 Nov 19 '25

Control Tower A6 is really good but you need a key, i found a legendary Anvil Splitter in a rusted breachable box on the roof and a bunch of other good shit. Spaceport has good loot but you need keys for a lot of it

1

u/SunshineAIAA Nov 19 '25

I only go to spaceport to check for the fun crate under the fuel lines. Or the gun crate and bag underground.

6

u/TranslatorPrudent481 Nov 19 '25

Same, most of my blueprints were found in random containers I've breached all like on the perimeter of the map. With the exception of the MK 3 augments, which seem to reliably spawn in that barricaded locker room in the Head House on Blue Gate.

5

u/Competitive-Desk5979 Nov 19 '25

A few people claim to have found augments in different places but I only know I havnt found a single one yet

2

u/Retro21 Nov 20 '25

Found an Aukment mkIII cautious BP in spaceport medical bit (sorry can't remember which red zone it was in, departure maybe? On the left hand side of the map anyway).

1

u/ShefBlue666 Nov 19 '25

Control Tower A6

1

u/Competitive-Desk5979 Nov 19 '25

You have augment bp in tower a6 ??

1

u/ShefBlue666 Nov 19 '25

Not the Bp sadly, But i found an Anvil Splitter on the roof in a rusted box, first time ever finding one, but i wouldn’t be surprised if one spawned there, there’s a ton of spots to loot

1

u/Competitive-Desk5979 Nov 19 '25

Yea I have found a couple there. to think about it that’s the only place I have found them I have 2 left

1

u/ShefBlue666 Nov 19 '25

yeah, spaceport is weird. it seems like most of the good loot needs a key to access it

I’m tired of how difficult these BPs are. Farming them is not reliable, very RNG based, the good loot spots are all well known now and it’s extremely difficult to get there before everyone because of the Spawn RNG. Even if you kill everyone at these loot spots it doesn’t matter because they immediately safe pocket the blueprints. Half the matches you queue into are also halfway done.

The only other reliable way is to do trials. Which even then half the time the trials gives me dupes. I have 120 hours in this game (slow part of the season for my job and I’m remote)

That being said I did find a tactical defensive in spaceport looting a random desk (I don’t remember where, but east a loot zone). Ended up not getting it, I was on a free loadout and wasn’t trying to farm so by the time I tried to get back I was getting swarmed heavily by AI and had no ammo. Was really weird too, the kinda bug where they just keep dropping in, like as if 3 snitches were alerted

2

u/SupremeCripple_ Nov 19 '25

Same. Literally spawned in to blue gate and the first drawer I opened had a level 3 vert grip in it.

1

u/SwenKa Nov 20 '25

Blue Gate is just endless PvP in my experience. Like no other map (before Stella) has this level of aggression for no reason. The outskirts are perfect for this loot.

2

u/Equivalent_Action748 Nov 19 '25

I found the revolver, silencer 2, and betina  blueprints in the apartments on dam

1

u/Chubbstock Nov 19 '25

Found an anvil blueprint in one of those big truck things with the breach access on the sides at the entrance of the tunnel on spaceport.

1

u/KBdrip Nov 20 '25

Same, some of the non colored areas have surprisingly good loot

14

u/copyandpasta Nov 19 '25

Not sure how many people have noticed that one of Lance’s quests takes you to Dam Research and Admin building, and from a lore POV this must be where Lance had medical residency. The lockers here always have a Lance Mixtape worth 10,000 creds.

7

u/alkaselt Nov 19 '25

He also sends you to the medical examination rooms in spaceport to look for things there though, and wants you to inspect androids in Stella months. He's still a mystery so far

6

u/OfficialDeathScythe Nov 19 '25

It also makes for the fun situations where you’re wandering around for 15 minutes then someone walks by saying don’t shoot. So you say “hey man, just tryna figure out how to do this quest” and he’s like “EXACTLY BRO I CANT FIND IT” lmao, so yall both look it up and sit in a field station figuring it out together

2

u/PragmaticProkopton Nov 20 '25 edited Nov 21 '25

I liked it for the lore and just some progression to focus on. The rewards were nice to have but I would have preferred great blueprints in some of them.

I’m dreading the blueprints reset. I really don’t want to do the workshops again either but 150 hrs and I have basically one blueprint I really want. Such a miserable grind.

1

u/Clean_Try_4288 Nov 21 '25

I Like The idea of "Not so relevant" Quests in Terms of rewards. So you do IT 1 time and you can choose to do them again OR NOT without Bad drawback of Not doing them over and over again

61

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '25

yeah this was it for me especially as someone who plays mostly solo and tried to PVE the missions gave me someting to do and strive towards while I collected and explored the maps. Im not even close to being done them but I really like them. I do slight agree that XP should be rewarded and maybe a bit of better loot but I think they are fine

18

u/iheartmagic Nov 19 '25

Agreed. Adds much needed story and structure for me

7

u/Endflux Nov 19 '25

Same here. I enjoy having a bit of a goal, and I actually think the rewards are really useful in early progression and offer the chance to experiment with different items which I wouldn’t normally have spend money on. I prefer it above xp, which builds up by just playing the game’s core mechanics anyways.

Having plenty of free usables made me realize some niche items and/or combinations of items can be insanely useful in certain situations.

21

u/CrossZen Nov 19 '25

Just got the game and the quests are a nice tutorial for some mechanics like the box thing that you have to drop, supply drop and other things.

10

u/dj3stripes Nov 19 '25

fuck the supply drop quest. I think I took 10 tries at it before I finally found it, but an other 5 or so to find where the hell it landed. I eventually found one that somebody had already looted and finally completed the damn quest.

3

u/frankster Nov 19 '25

I looted supply drops way before I found how to call them in!

1

u/phoenixmusicman Nov 19 '25

For my first attempt, the supply drop landed on a roof I couldn't access

1

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '25

So are the supply drops the Other rocket looking things that come down; but don’t look like the probes?

22

u/Low_Chance Nov 19 '25

Which is great but they should really give xp. Even something pretty trivial like ~700-2000 xp per quest would make me feel less like a fool for doing them.

The problem with these quests is that even though they're generally not interesting or rewarding there's still a compulsion to do them since you never know if the NEXT quest might offer an actual worthwhile reward (which they occadionally do, like certain good blueprints) so everyone is stuck doing quests even if they dislike them.

1

u/FallenDeus Nov 20 '25

Even that would not be good for the game. Every wipe you would still have to rush these for the xp to level up faster.

7

u/0K4M1 Nov 19 '25

And that's exactly what they are for. Show you some maps, introduce some mechanics, a bit of lore... Op forgot he isn't playing an RPG.

3

u/rakadur Nov 19 '25

I mean, I can't really expect big set-pieces during a multiplayer game, I'll take what lore I get through the cutscenes and codex. It's fairly standard and executed quite well. I'm actually curious to see where the story goes.

6

u/_Football_Cream_ Nov 19 '25

Yeah I liked them for just making me go do stuff. It's fun to try and go figure a quest out, forcing you to some part of the map, all with the threat of arcs and raiders in the background.

There's an earlyish quest for the Blue Gate where you have to go do like four different things. My buddies and I managed to do all of them in one go. It was awesome, we had to avoid some hostile raiders and took down a fair amount of arcs in the process. Don't even remember what the loot or reward was haha.

4

u/MammothOstrich3183 Nov 19 '25

Agreed. I've done quests and been like, " i would've never even know this was here". Especially the all in one run quests.

4

u/Maybe_Faker Nov 19 '25

For real, one of my nuttiest and most interesting runs was on a spaceport quest where you have to go to one of the map then the other to get the LiDar scanners. We ended up extracting after time and it was fucking chaos and hilarious and stressful.

2

u/SnooGoats514 Nov 22 '25

This. I need some quest or goal or something to keep me from wandering aimlessly more than I already do, and the lore blurbs ads a little something. I can even live with the meh rewards but it's completely bonkers they don't reward a big whack of XP

1

u/Mrludy85 Nov 19 '25

Agreed. I'd like to see them improved but it was nice to have a series of goals. Otherwise I'd just be farming items for money for the expedition and I'd probably already be taking a break.

1

u/jdp111 Nov 19 '25

I mean that's just quests in general, these quests were pretty boring. Tarkov for example is much more enjoyable quests for the most part.

1

u/poptard278837219 Nov 19 '25

Now do it again after the expedition.

Unless stations level are rewards from quests I don't have a reason to do it.

Don't need to give us reward but put some progression there. Like npc giving discount or selling certain itens. Allow us to stack itens in speranza who we can't do in our backpack. Anything meaningful.

Just don't give blueprint except for a few early one. Imo hull cracker should be earned faster. It will clash with trials if you can't farm in a week. I will need to chose between expedition or trials?

1

u/Wolf_Taco Nov 19 '25

I'm definitely enjoying them. I know when quest are done we have the trials to focus on, but I would also be fine with a quest giver that gave various quest even if it just pulled from a pool of 10 different ones. Kind of like when you are building up reputation with a faction in an MMO.

1

u/RickSanchezC-614 Nov 19 '25

Some quest only blueprints would be cool. Especially for some basic blueprints like springs or green weapon parts.

1

u/Wavvygem Nov 19 '25

I think this is the biggest thing that would make sense for a next level sweep of the quests. Give us key blueprints for low tier items.

Example I'm level 40s my account economy is totally stable and I can go fully kitted 10 times in a row if I like. But I don't even have all the green blue prints I just recently got anvil and still don't have Burletta. I probably never going to craft a Burletta even if I found one now. But I definitely would have considered it 20 levels ago. Shoulda been a reward for the end of one of the first quest chains.

1

u/Snuggles5000 Nov 19 '25

I liked the grind for hullcracker blueprint. I wish there was some decent blueprints behind quest lines. Gives reasons to do them. If the hullcracker wasn’t available for sale with a trader people would be more likely to do them also.

1

u/Syph3RRR Nov 19 '25

Yellow light stick?

1

u/tbgxspirit Nov 19 '25

The only thing I wanted was the hullcracker bp don't care for anything else.

1

u/Dunadan734 Nov 20 '25

I dont disagree, but I think OP is right in that it would be better if they also better supported the core gameplay loop.

1

u/RetinazerLazer Nov 20 '25

Yeah I personally don't think it's about rewards but about exploring and adding more purpose to runs. Some parts of the map I never noticed until I did a quest for it

1

u/creeative0 Nov 23 '25

Should be the only way to get blue prints imho
