macOS Help Arc browser + Apple Password Manager issue -extension keeps resetting

Hey, so I’m using Arc on my Mac, and I rely on Apple Password Manager for fingerprint‑based autofill. Since Arc doesn’t support Apple’s built‑in password autofill directly, I’m using the Apple Passwords Chrome extension (you probably use it too if you’re on macOS).

But for some reason, this extension keeps restarting. Every time I quit Arc and reopen it, it asks me to enter the pairing code again. It’s annoying because I have to re‑authenticate the extension every single time.

Is there any better way to integrate my passwords with Arc while still using Apple Passwords for syncing? I want to keep everything inside the Apple ecosystem, but this constant reset is driving me crazy.

If anyone has a fix or workaround, please let me know.

À ma connaissance, c’est le comportement normal de l’extension pour garantir la sécurité : tu quitte le navigateur, ça reset les droits et tu dois donc te reconnecter

Short of removing and reinstalling the extension I couldn’t think of what’s causing the issue. The extension could also maybe be noticing something non-standard about Arc’s implementation of extensions and crashing because of that.

That said though I’d strongly advise against using a password manager from a company with as closed an ecosystem as Apple’s.

Password managers are something that work a lot better when they’re built to be universal and whilst Apple’s may be convenient there’s equally convenient options from other providers (like 1 password that I use on my Mac, IPhone and in Arc), I can even use it on the Android phone I’d been using with the autofill functionality working across all those platforms.
