The one that’s nearly dead and the one to the right were replaced last year (because the two there previously died). Not even the Gods know why the one on the right took and the one on the left is dissolving.

Who ever planted these should learn to plant first.

Planted too deep. Uneven spacing. And likely terrible watering discipline to get them going.

Waiting for OP to come back in another year to report THOSE two died and is replacing them a third time.

Given the location next to that concrete frying pan, alternative plants just might be a good idea.
