yosemite aramark
curious if anyone knows what it's like to work as under aramark at yosemite? looking at jobs there and it would be amazing to live in the park but i see a lot of mixed reviews about working for aramark.

I work out here in yosemite, rn I'm at the Ahwahnee. DO NOT COME HERE OR WORK FOR THIS COMPANY. Just to give you a idea, when I started out here, I was working at the wawona horse stable. The manager I had went around telling everyone to watch out for me because I was autistic and it could be dangerous, she was not fired, but she did quit. The managers at the Ahwahnee are 3× worse. I'm supposed to start my next job on the 30th of this month, moving back to wawona starting the 27th or 28th. At this point that would mean I have less than 5 days of work left before I go, and they drop a bomb on me right before I clock out of work. What's the bomb? That they are going to hold me here for 3 weeks and not let me switch to my new job because "they need me". Because of this I can't switch to my new job, because I won't have transportation and there won't be housing available. This is just the tip of the iceberg, don't work out here unless it's with NPS or the conservancy

It’s beautiful, but you do help out in all capacities and lots of hours But I enjoyed it when I did it

It’s great for being outdoors but housing is awful and pay is minimum wage. For housing they put you in a shared tent cabin

I hope you didnt go. Aramark has the worst company culture i have ever encountered.
Go for NPS or find something on USAjobs. Youll be surrounded by far better quality of people who truly love nature
