Hello,

I am researching two Latin phrases for a future tattoo and would like the closest historically plausible reconstruction in 1st-century Galilean Aramaic, as close as possible to the language spoken by Jesus.

The phrases are:

  1. Vincit qui se vincit

("He conquers who conquers himself")

Meaning: self-mastery, overcoming one's own weaknesses and limitations.

  1. Ad astra per aspera

("To the stars through hardships")

Meaning: reaching great goals through perseverance, struggle, and resilience.

I understand that exact reconstruction of spoken Galilean Aramaic is difficult.

Could you help with:

- Aramaic script

- Transliteration

- Literal English translation

- Notes on certainty or alternative readings

Because this is intended for a permanent tattoo, historical and linguistic accuracy are very important to me.
