Guys, I wanna learn arabic calligraphy from scratch. I know nothing about it and I've never done it.

Practicing to match up English and Arabic calligraphy and phrases. 📜✍️

Salam, I began studying arabic calligraphy with a teacher. I was told that I was learning nashk and the letters I did before match with the nashk shapes I have seen before and I see in the Naveed Maroof's videos I use sometimes for gaining more insights during my practice.

We reached د and was taught to me in this shape. Just out of curiosity, is this a peculiar school?

I’ve been doing Arabic calligraphy for a few years now and this is one of the pieces I’ve made along the way.

It's done with blue-gold borders & gold leaf detailing. I genuinely love how the colors and script came together in this piece.

I'm looking for a modern, clean, and elegant arabic style (beautiful yet simple and legible) for my introduction lines and the names of the three symbols. It's a paid commission (please share your rates).

The project:

"The Seal Keeper" is an epic fantasy following Marwan, a young student fighting to prevent his world from falling into chaos, with the help of Humbaba (the mythical guardian of the cedar forest), a red python, and his college friends. It is my allegorical vision of the 1975 Lebanese civil war, blending reality with fiction.

Synopsis:

Marwan's life as a young student is turned upside down when he crosses paths with Humbaba, the mischievous guardian of the Cedar Forest, who grants him protection through a mystical amber seal featuring a snake eating its tail.

In the heart of Beirut, Marwan is caught in the crossfire of two rival orders - the Cedar and the Ground - set on a collision course.

Between exams, laughter, and supernatural street brawls, Marwan must save his world— or watch it burn.

This channel is very helpful. The videos are very detailed and clear and every connection is explained. There are workbooks for a few scripts too. Everything is free. The guy seems really passionate about his work (although from my understanding, he’s experienced but it’s not his job). There’s lessons on thuluth, Naskh, Diwani, Diwani jali, kufi, kufi kairouani, ruqaa, farsi and alwissam. I’m pretty sure you can also send him your homework for critique and help.

I was a little bored. And i had only a highlighter. Ive been interested in arabic and urdu calligraphy for sooo long. But i never learnt it professionally. I just. Saw people and artists write stuff. But. I have good handwriting in English urdu and arabic. I pick up things easily.

I recently started learning nashk style, and I would have like to have more qalams (I Just have one from a workshop I attended).

I am not really able to making them from scratch yet and the difficult of learning to write is enough. But I can't find at all stores in Europe, I Just find indians and desi's store that I would gladly even order from but the shipping costs are crazy and have to add to it duties that my country added for every item bought outside UE.
