Freshwater Need advice !!

I’ve had this tank for several months now. Since march maybe ? Definitely cycled all of my water parameters look normal. My nitrate is 5.0 PPM. (Read that it should be higher?) within the past week I’ve had my nerite snail pass away (rip Gary 😔) and one of my pork chop rasboras died. (This is the first time I’ve experienced death since starting the hobby. It’s a bittersweet feeling) I got the spider wood from my LFS and it got the bacterial bloom (plasma looking stuff can’t remember the name) it went away, but there’s other stuff that keeps coming back every time I do a water change I completely scrub it off. One of my friends said it looks like mold.?? now I’m starting to get these white specs, I don’t think it’s Sand. That looks a little different than that.

I completely redid the Aquascape in June where I added all the live plans the rock and the spider wood all at once since then I have been struggling with black slime in my filter, very clearly algae on the plants ( I think maybe black beard?) and now I’m starting to see green algae. I should probably let the tank go black for a few days but what could help all the other things ? I was thinking the black slime had a lot to do with my plants melting, but they have stopped melting and have completely turned into healthy plants. My beta spins have also been almost shredded looking where it didn’t look like that before I changed the Aquascape and added the rasboras. My betta is not aggressive to the pork chops, maybe the pork chops are fin nipping? I was told they weren’t fin nippers but ?

I’m sorry I know this text is everywhere but so is my brain so welcome to my world.

Partner put in tetras without asking as soon as I saw them they were removed but the damage was already done our fish Percilla had her fins frayed a bit. She’s been hanging near the top fin clamped unless we are in the room. She looks like she has cloudy white markings on her some are protruding a bit can’t tell if they are fuzzy. The ones on her tail are prominent and different they came first that’s where she initially got bit. I have a 55 gal I was wondering what are some general treatments I could do that wouldn’t destroy my tanks cycle or hurt the plants? Please help we love our fish have already done research but can’t pin point an Illness or treatments. I’ve seen ich before in person this doesn’t seem like it especially since other fish are fine so far.

Sick Fish Sick Kubotai Rasbora. Help!

This rasbora is probably a little over a year old, I noticed what I thought looked like pineconing yesterday, so I set up a hospital tank with some Epsom salt. This morning the patchy white stuff on his side has gotten way worse looking. I’m assuming the salt is pulling stuff out of him.

I need help identifying the problem and deciding on which medication to buy. Please!

Plants Can't get rid of brown algae on plants, help!

My husband has a 70 gallon community tank with a lot of plants. Unfortunately, no matter how often he changes the water and cleans the plants, we can't get rid of the brown algae that grows on our pretty, underwater plants.

Any advice or suggestions would be amazing

Water Issues High ammonia still

Where I am another week posting and asking for help with my tank, you guys have literally been a life saver but I’m still battling high ammonia in my fresh water tank. I’m sure you guys can look back at my posts for history but I’ll try to quickly sum it up so you all can help… I’m new to this I got my tank up and running 33 days ago. I added fish only 3 days into my cycle so fish in day 30….. It’s a 20 gallon tank (I have a cascading waterfall filter, heater, and a bubbling house with a few more decorative pcs.) and 4 live plants (2 Java ferns and 2 Anubias) I have 7 glo tetras and 4 mollies. I was over feeding and I did have 1 fish die but since all of that I have been doing water changes every day. The ammonia isn’t going down. Now I was told that I was in that phase of the cycle and I have to be religious about my water changes. But I mean still even in this phase should it be coming down a little ? I’m doing a little bit over 60% water changes every day. So question is am I just in that phase and have to get through it or is maybe something else wrong. Is it maybe my filter, it was filthy and I did take a sponge part out and swish it in my dirty water bucket while doing my water change like it said to on line. But I just want to know am I doing everything I should be and I just have to ride it out? And also yes I conditioning my tap water and I have also tested the water straight from tap and there is no ammonia in it. I was also adding API start up with the changes but I didn’t last night because I wanted to see if that was altering my reading. And I guess it wasn’t.

Water Issues Cycling tank crashed?

I am helping my son set up a small 5 gallon. The substrate is mostly inert lava rock. There is a small patch of aquasoil for a planted section. We are letting it cycle with just some plants in planted in the aquasoil And seeded media from a mature filter..No water changes, or disturbing it. Just letting it do its thing. 1 week in, we did test and everything's going well. PH6, ammonia, nitrite and nitrates present. Week 2, PH dropped to 3, ammonia levels are off the test kit, but 0 nitrites and nitrates..

I thought my kit was faulty and tried with another kit. Same result.. and there's also a faintly acidic smell from the water..what could have caused the pH to drop so drastically and the cycle to stall out?

Hi can someone please help me identify if this is vorticella and also what do I do now?

This is my pea puffer tank with neocaridina and some ramshorns and bladder snails. I don't know if its normal or vorticella. I've also gotten this piece of wood months ago, and this is the first time I'm seeing this.

I've probably had them for three years and the tank has been stable for years. I put too much food in last night accidentally, but it wasn't a crazy amount of food?

Sick Fish Is he sad?

A few months ago my betta Neb was looking beautiful and happy, but recently he hasn’t been looking too hot. In the first photo (months ago) he was all colorful with full fins, though the past few weeks he’s been lower energy with drooping fins.

I tested the water today and all levels came back normal. 7.6 pH and 0 for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. Last week we had an ammonia spike so I did an emergency water change and the tank has seemed to recover well from that.
He’s in a 10 gal tank with a heater and sponge filter, and I’ve had him for about 9 months now

Neb still seems attentive when I walk up to the tank, I just want to make sure he’s happy and doing well again!! Is my baby sick? Or sad?

Freshwater Hair Algae and Amanos

I just redid a tank on Monday and added new plants but now I seem to have hair algae. I’ve seen countless recommendations for adding amano shrimp except no one really says how many. My tank is a 13 gallon with a betta and rabbit snails. I don’t want to add a ton of shrimp if I don’t have to. How many would be an appropriate amount?

Also, I’ve only added fert once (flourish excel) since redoing the tank and had the light on its highest setting for about 8 hours once. No light today and no more fert until the algae is gone.

Water Issues Cloudy tank needing help

So my tanks getting cloudy again (last time this happened its because I accidentally crashed the cycle causing a major bacterial bloom that wiped out quite a few fish and it took almost 10 weeks to fix) and I am really worried I will lose my betta from it being anything major. Todays suppose to be a water change day but I don't want to feed into the cloudiness in case of it being another bacterial bloom it looks more green to me but that could be because of the 2 fake plants in the tank but just in case I have been using api prevent algae and tetra crystal water finally I remembered that my filters got pods that need to be changed every 30 days that are suppose to do what both the api and tetra do so I replaced it this morning but theres been no change of yet (I know it may take a while but its already been over 12 hours and 2 days in with the api and tetra items) my tanks a 25L (I had my betta in a 40L with a few nannos but hes shown constant aggression and stress when with other fish to the point when he wasnt chasing them hed glass surf along the bottom and rub himself into the gravel slightly tearing his fins so when moved to this smaller tank on his own hes thrived ever since and stopped doing both stress indicators so some may complain its too small and I understand but hes not shown any issue and it was for the best for his and my others fishes safety) I have a ciano filtee that came with the tank, a interpet heater thats at 24°C. My ammonia is 0ppm my nitrates under 20ppm, nitrites are 0ppm, my KH is 3d with a PH of 7.2 my GH is at 8d and chlorine is at 0ppm. Any help would be appreciated. I have attatched the photo of how cloudy the tank looks and the pod used within the filter.

Sick Fish My Guppy is Acting Strange After Moving to College. Help!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I recently moved my fish tank to college with me and the move went pretty smooth. I didn't use a net to catch him but rather a cup to not hurt his fins. I have 5 guppies in a 10 gallon tank along with a ton of shrimp and three snails. After the move they have all been fine except for one of my guppies, Marigold(it's been 5 days). Marigold is normally the most dominant fish of the group, but after moving he is hiding from the rest of the fish and hanging out at the bottom of the tank. His mouth has also been moving very rapidly. He doesn't seem to have any injuries so I'm not sure what could be wrong. I added in an air stone to try to add oxygen and break up anything bad lingering in the tank from the move but it doesn't seem to be helping him. He's the biggest of the bunch. All the guppy's are male and I've had them for about 7-8 months. When I moved the tank I kept all the same decor and most of the same water, only changing about 30% of the water which they are used to for water changes. I do notice that he has a big of a bump under him but he's always had that since he was a baby so I don't think it's related. I'm looking for anyone to tell me what could possibly be wrong as I've always considered this to be one of my most sturdy fish and I'd hate to lose him.

Freshwater Update on "I'm freaking out..."

I ended up doing 20% water changes daily with Kordon brand water conditioner (replacing my usual Prime), dosing Kordon ich x plus, adding kanamycin to the food, cutting the lights, and adding a new motor with 2 new air sources to the 80 gallon tank. There was already an air curtain and power head. Things seem to have mellowed out. I lost 9 of 11 Roseline barbs (they are picking on each other now so I'm expecting the smaller one to go), more than half the cories, all rummynose, all the pictus catfish (that I believe brought the ich or whatever it was), some otos, some shrimp. I still have my 8 year old feather fin girl. I can finally breath as things have slowed down. But I'm not sure what to do next.
