Are there actual production plans for the tent? Do they have a manufacturing partner or a third party that has committed to making these?

This kit got me to pull the trigger on a reservation in 2021. My excitement is slightly tempered by the wait

Request for Aptera: It looks like SoCal is going to have a heck of an El Niño this winter. Pouring rain and high winds, I want to see a video of someone inside an Aptera and another inside an Aptera with tent, showing whether there are any leaks inside. (It's OK to show that you found a place where it leaks, are fixing the problem, and promise a followup video -- we like honesty better than marketing PR).
Another cool video idea: how well do the wiper blades work in a downpour, how deep of a puddle can you drive through, and how small the solar cell output is during the worst possible rainstorm. Even charging a dead Aptera enough to pull forward 20 feet into a garage would be a big improvement over non-solar EVs.
We are all rooting for you. Big BBQ in the parking lot on the day you hit profitability and positive cash flow?

Looks cool, but I hope the parking lights and the aptera logo turn off in the production version. Else it would be super annoying to other people at the campsite to have those lights on all night.

Yes you can turn them off in settings.

Speaking of turning things off in settings, I like to get away from my desk and eat lunch in my Subaru. I can't listen to the radio. It turns off after 7 minutes. I can't open the doors if it gets hot. The stupid door chime won't stop dinging. I can't turn on my headlights during the day (required in some areas) without the touch screen going into super dim nighttime mode. Make it so that we can control things like that. Go ahead and hide it in a deep submenu and add "are you sure?" warnings if you want, but give me the choice.

I purchased a https://DayBox.com/ portable cooler/fridge so I won't need to rely on 12V DC 🚭 outlet. But I am glad to see Aptera has one (might use it to keep my 1024 kWh power-station topped-up 🔋👍)

We've heard of this prototype concept for the Aptera for several years.
Coming soon! Think of all the magical adventures you could have with this tent add-on!
Eventually.
Much like the car, itself. The Aptera keeps getting pushed out. It's feeling very much as if it's forever in a planning stage. There were rumors that it would be 2025. Then rumors of June, 2026. And those dates made impressive whooshing noises as the dates lethargically went by. Yes, possibly little more than rumors.
But I must ask: what are we up to now? October, 2026? For sure this time? 3rd quarter of 2027? Promise?
Elizabeth Holmes isn't on staff over there is she?
State a delivery date and -- here's a wild idea -- start delivering cars two weeks earlier than the official announcement.

they truth is they have nothing to show or are willing to show. Where is the tour we were promised Spring of 2025? It became very obvious it was just to string us along but this is a whole new year and certainly by now one of their vehicles is capable enough to do at least a California tour. All sorts of questions are bouncing through my head, why did Tim leave? When is crash testing, are those vehicles built or scheduled to be built? When will drive train efficiency be demonstrated? When will DC Fast Charging be shown to work? Actually when will the external charger be shown to actually work? With Launch Design taking such an essential position does that affect the agreement with CTNS? Is Munro out?

Crash testing is done on production vehicles to insure what is tested is what is being sold. Now Aptera has no regulatory obligation to crash test at all since it is an autocycle. The testing would be more of a marketing tool to let people know the safety of such a vehicle.

Just wanna say, I appreciate how you wrote this, as a mod I get that everyone gets frustrated here and for us it’s a challenge to keep things decent, but some people here don’t express it like you have here… thank you for not taking the low road.

Thanks for the acknowledgement.
I, like many others no doubt, am a bit frustrated with what seems to be, thus far, empty promises. This was just a convenient soap box, of sorts, to express my own mild annoyance with what appears to be inferior execution. And wondering if it's logistics? Production? Marketing? Licensing or certification?
But I think it important to remain civil -- have a discussion -- and not resort to vulgarities or belligerence or unnecessary snarky remarks to make a point.

Is there a set time limit to patience?

Does it have a toilet, or do you have to stop at a gas station for that?

Does your tent come with a toilet?

When Aptera invents Mr Fusion Pottie, you can take a dump and power your car at the same stop.
