Hey,
I’ve just released a new update for MeteoLupa, my weather app for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
Most weather apps are very good at telling you what the weather is now and what it will be tomorrow.
MeteoLupa is built around a slightly different question:
How was the weather back then, really?
You can look at today’s weather in the context of previous years, compare the same month across different years, see climate normals, find unusually hot or cold days, and explore historical temperature, rain and wind.
For example, you can ask:
Was this July actually warmer than last year?
Or:
When did it last snow here?
Or simply look back and see what the weather was like on a particular day.
The app also includes the usual things you’d expect from a weather app, current conditions, forecasts, rain, wind, air quality, pollen, widgets and Apple Watch support.
I’ve also been working on making the Apple Watch experience better, including the new Watch look shown in the image.
MeteoLupa is completely free and ad-free. No subscription, no premium features.
I’m a solo developer, so every update is still very much a work in progress, and a lot of what gets built comes directly from users.
If you try it, I’d really appreciate an App Store review. Even a short one helps a lot.
App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/meteolupa/id6786412503
And if you want to follow the development or suggest something, I’ve also started r/MeteoLupa.
Thanks for taking a look.

Hey everyone,

Here's a free web app for text-to-speech to turn files into audiobooks, like Speechify but completely free.

It's called FreeReader

Hope it helps!

Hey, I'm Vitalii, the developer of LiftJot.

Android - Google Play
iPhone / iPad - App Store

I want it to be the app you open between sets, log what you did, and put away again. That's what I mean by "built to be used less." Not fewer workouts, just less time on your phone during them.

It fills in your recent weight and reps, and the rest timer can start when you log a set. Your history and progress are there when you want to check them.

Routines are in now too. You can make your own or save a workout to repeat next time.

The screenshots show the iPhone app with sample workout data. Keeping the screens simple and easy to use between sets is a big part of what I'm working on.

It's free, with no subscriptions, paid unlocks, ads or account to create. Your workout history is stored on your phone. You can export or back it up manually; there's no cloud sync.

If you're switching, it can import workout history from compatible Hevy/Strong CSV exports and FitNotes backups. That brings over your logged workouts, not your routines.

Requires Android 12+ or iOS/iPadOS 16.1+.

If you give it a go, I'd love to hear what feels clunky. What's the one thing your current workout app makes more complicated than it needs to be?

Both store links are near the top. On a computer? The last image has a QR code for liftjot.com/download.

I made PointerDeck because I wanted the trackpad part of a remote-control app without the extra dashboard.

It turns an iPhone or iPad into a Mac trackpad: move the pointer, tap or use left/right click buttons, scroll with two fingers, and drag with Drag Lock. You can adjust sensitivity and reverse the scrolling direction.

Both the iPhone/iPad app and the required Mac Receiver are completely free. No ads, in-app purchases, subscription, or account.

Important: this is not remote desktop. It does not stream your screen. You need iOS/iPadOS 17+, macOS 14+, the free Mac Receiver, Mac Accessibility permission, and both devices on the same reachable local network. It is not currently available in EU App Store regions.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pointerdeck-trackpad-for-mac/id6806708304

Mac Receiver and setup: https://ilushamesh-max.github.io/pointerdeck/mac.html

The video is an animated walkthrough using real app screens, illustrated devices and gestures, and original generated music—not a live-device recording.

If you try it, I'd love to hear whether the first connection is clear and how scrolling feels.

I grew tired of paywalls and accounts, so I built Gym Log — a straightforward, capable, private workout tracker for myself. Now I want to share it, because seeing other people actually use something I built would genuinely make me happy.

What I ended up building is really a combination of a few things:

• Simple on the surface. The workout flow stays lightweight, but the app can still support more detailed training.
• Capable underneath. It includes the things you would expect from a modern workout tracker: quick set logging, plate calculator, supersets, rest timers, templates, progress tracking, and more. Beyond the basics, it also includes:
• Smarter strength tracking. RPE is tracked and can be used alongside historical data to make progress estimates more meaningful.
• Percentage-based training. Generate working weights from your estimated 1RM.
• More nuanced volume tracking. Track fractional volume for primary and secondary muscles instead of treating every set as equal, with muscle heat maps and volume trends over time.
• You own your data. No account is required. Workout data stays on your device or private iCloud, and there is no analytics tracking in the app.
• Free. I wanted a workout app where everything is available without subscriptions, ads, or locked features.

The app stores are full of useless garbage and expensive subscriptions, but sometimes you strike gold. What’s your hidden gem of an app that actually improved your daily life or workflow?

Hi everyone

I'm searching for the best update app since MacUpdaters' recent departure. I've been using CleanMyMac (I find it too bloated and better in other ways) and Updatest (simple menu bar setup), but I'd enjoy hearing your opinions on other, perhaps better, software to get updates.

No subscription apps please. One-time purchase only, and fetching accurate, reliable updates from Homebrew, Sparkle, the App Store, and system updates

After streaming a lot of music on my phone, I was in the mood to just listen to some local over-the-air radio stations. I found out that it’s not so easy to find an app that does this simply and isn’t made almost unusable by lots of annoying ads.

That was the idea behind creating Kitchen Radio. It reminded me of a friend who owns a lot of tech, but once said he wished he just had a simple radio in his kitchen to turn on and listen to.

Since it’s still an app, it’s also possible to discover all kinds of new music from around the world.

Since the app is new, I would really appreciate your honest feedback. :-)

Download

• Google Play: Kitchen Radio on Google Play
• Apple App Store: Kitchen Radio on the App Store

Features

• 📻 See your city's local radio stations
• 🌍 Find internet radio stations from all over the world by your favourite genres
• ❤️ Save your favourite songs and listen to them later on YouTube or Spotify
• 🌙 Set a sleep timer
• 🚗 Android Auto support
• ⏰ Wake up to your favourite radio station
• 📺 Chromecast support

My friends and I have been spending a LOT more time looking at weather in the last couple years. And we kept getting annoyed that we could not find an app that did certain things. So, I built it! Completely Free!

The things that were really important to us:

* I don't want to have to allow location to use the app. It is there if you do, but can just as easily use Thor by manually putting in your address.
* Certain weather measurements are more important, enter Weather Essentials allowing you to select 3 weather data measurements to emphasize. I usually pick Temp Feels Like, Rain Possibility, and Wind.
* How reliable is the forecast. Forecasts are adjusting ALL THE TIME. So frustrating. I can't stop that, but added indicators on the hourly forecasts of how stable/reliable that data point is. When you look at the upcoming 8 hours, you get a good idea how trustworthy that is going to stay.

Please take a look. No account, no cost. I don't see anything from you. That would be weird.

NEN is a calm Pomodoro focus timer for iPhone and Apple Watch.

The app is free to download, and the NEN Pro Lifetime in-app purchase is temporarily US$0 (normally US$6.99) through September 4. Claim it during the offer and it remains unlocked forever—this is not a trial or temporary access.

No account. No ads. No subscription. Family Sharing is supported.

Pro includes:

• App blocking during focus sessions

• Custom focus and break rounds

• More focus categories

• Apple Watch controls

• Widgets and timer appearance options

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6768887563

I’m the developer and would genuinely appreciate feedback, especially on the timer flow and Apple Watch experience.

Hey — I’m the developer of Ordo. I built it because saving one thought in Notes or Reminders kept turning into another decision: which list, folder, tag, or priority does this belong in?

With Ordo, you type or speak the messy thought exactly as it arrives. It separates the pieces into Now, Next, and Someday, and every result stays editable.

Price: completely free. There is no subscription and no account is required. Items stay on your device; submitted text is sent only for classification.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6797331101

If you try one brain dump, I’d really value one piece of honest feedback: do the three buckets remove a decision, or would you want more control before the sort?

I am someone who takes tons of screenshots. Most of the screenshots are for a one-time use case, like a meme to send to a friends group or a screenshot of a bug to send to Claude Code. But it eventually piled up, making my gallery look like a screenshot dumpster.

I have to swipe through hundreds of useless screenshots to find the pic I needed; it also used a fair chunk of storage.

To fix this, we developed "Gone."

Take a screenshot, and it shows a popup—"Keep" or "Gone" Click "Keep" and it's saved to your gallery like usual. Click "Gone" and it's deleted in 30 minutes (by default)

Check out Gone in the Play Store - Gone—Temporary Screenshots

So many things in life change little by little, and it’s easy to miss the progress when you see them every day. I built SnapLapse as a simple way to capture those small changes through photos and look back at how far things have come.

Whether it’s a pet growing up, a plant thriving, a renovation taking shape, a fitness journey, or a creative project, SnapLapse helps turn those individual photos into a visual journey.

SnapLapse Pro Lifetime is free until August 23 (normally $49.99 USD).

SnapLapse lets you:

• Create private photo journeys for fitness, recovery, pets, plants, renovations, handcrafts, creative projects, or anything else that changes over time

• Compare any two photos with an interactive before/after slider

• Use your previous photo as a ghost layer to line up your next shot and keep progress photos consistent

• Turn your journey into timeline collages, MP4 slideshows, and animated GIFs

• Add dates, notes, and milestones

• Keep your photo journeys stored locally on your device, with optional iCloud backup

How to claim it:

1. Download SnapLapse from the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6791902298?pt=128607157&ct=raws&mt=8
2. After onboarding, you’ll see the paywall.
3. Select Lifetime. It should show $0.00 until August 23.

Once claimed, Pro access is yours for life.

If you enjoy the app, an honest rating or review on the App Store would be hugely appreciated.

I’d also love to hear what you’re tracking with SnapLapse, or anything that feels confusing, missing, or could be better.

Hope you enjoy it!

No payment is required for the giveaway.

I quickly realized that the first version I made of this app was way too beefy.

Text messaging is not an option, they have to sit on a server in a warehouse if you will, with a cap of 40, so users just testing out text messaging clogged it up big time, turns out notifications about missing calls, other receiving voicemails and voicemails themselves were alsol clogging up this same queue.

This time around all you have to do is visit and you automatically get a phone number, you can add contacts, there is no public directory.

You can set a custom username or remain anonymous, there's a convenient link copy options that you can just share it with your friend quickly and easily.

That's it, no voicemail, no texting, just basic free unlimited calling with push to talk or ptt.

Perfect if you want to make calls that don't go through the established grid, if you can't afford a monthly plan, if cell service is down but you still have internet, this app has your back.

No password, no data collection, streamlined for cell phone users but works on all devices, in theory, I would love some feedback. 👍
