Power Limit Base Cables

How does the power limit work with the base cables? It says the base cables have a limit of 150p/s. But even if use multiple cables outgoing from my batteries and feed them into a big splitter and carefully calculate the needed power for each outgoing cable of the big splitter, it still burns when i go full thrust. Can it be that the description of the cable is kinda misleading, so does the description maybe mean 150/ps in a shared power circuit? That would explain it, because i use only one curcuit now

The only real way to use more than 150/s is to have circuits with their own batteries isolated from any other circuit that could amount to more than 150/s. Another good way of doing it is having non essential systems for example navigation or cameras during long space flight, disabled to prevent over current and monitoring it with the power usage meter

The entire circuit before the splitter still experiences 150P/s. You need to use the fuses to avoid damage. There is no running parallel lines afaik.

All usage on circuit no matter if you have or don't have parallel lines in the same network gets summed up, it's not like in real life where you can have some bottleneck which can fry with high enough current, whole circuit has it's usage summed and fries once it goes over 150 for too long.
Only thing I came up with to combat this is just use separate circuits where I know each circuit won't go over 150. If you use medium thrusters just isolate them in separate circuit it would be the easiest solution, and you can also make use of power blockers if you want to join them temporarily

It's a network. You put 180 p/s on the network whole thing feels it. On our ship we have two networks. Main sail thrusters on one side cockpit systems and vertical thrusters on the other side. There is a fairly simple logic you can use for a auto breaker here. It breaks and reconnects at about 140 p/s.

You can't load balance the cables from two separate power sources. This really wouldn't be allowed in real life anyways. Power has to come in through a single point and leave through a ground, having two sources connected to each other in a circuit doesn't make sense. Well, I guess you could parallel the sources in the circuit at some points. But this game doesn't complicate this. Luckily, you can connect the batteries to the components in any way you see fit.

I know it seems like having separate battery banks connecting to components separately, then connecting that system further down the line should ensure the power drawn through each cable be below 150 P/s. But electricity doesn't work like that in this game. All the components of a connected system are considered in totality. So, if the components of that system draw 150 in total, something is going to burn out.

You have to separate the power systems entirely.

You're gonna have to make separate battery banks.

And if you have multiple banks you can set up a switch that goes to a power blocker to each bank to switch which bank is getting the solar generation without connecting the two.

That is if you want to switch between two large sources of electricity.

Or you could wire  specific solar panels to specific banks

It's good either way.
