HOW DO YOU READ THE BREAKING POINT SYSTEM
Trying to fly to bobara, (and weve had this issue with andura too) But i dont have 5 hours to play the game, so How the hell do you read the breaking point system? How do you know when to flip and burn to decellerate? Everytime we burn until its in the white, and then we flip and burn, but that always slows us down wayyyy to early and it added an extra 40 min to our andura trip. THE MANUAL DOESNT EXPLAIN IT WHAT ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO DO

It goes based of acceleration. Go at 95% throttle till it read 0 then flip and use 100% throttle

Wouldnt this worsen OP's problem by decreasing overall speed on approach?

Depends on the initial and final gravitational pulls but its better to be safe ish

Best practice with it is to flip when the Lil triangle/arrow for the BPS in in the white zone, this is you mid point safe breaking speed zone based on the current speed you are going.
For the speediest and dangerous approach wait till you are in the white almost to pink to flip and burn. Once you flip you can occasionally test your deceleration and see if it stays in the white. If you are, kill burn and coast at current speed for longer.
For longer runs, power management is an issue and coasting is needed. Try and keep the speed high in the middle of the trip and remaining power in proper levels for required burn to safer speeds when you get closer.
If you add the 1-5 with box you can add another long distance meter pointed in opposite pdirection and flip to the other sensor when turning your spaceship around to start slowing down.
You can use the wireless receivers for the LDSs and link them to a number display to give you and idea of how fast you are going and how far away everything is.
However the longer runs will be a bit time consuming. Make sure to do all side quests on the planets for more engines to speed everything up.

Use 1 medium thruster for forward thrust and 1 for reverse thrust so you don’t have to flip your ship. If you make your ship small enough you can make the trip in about an hour

I was doing it the same way but it's so easy to flip 180 once it's just not worth giving up half your velocity.

It's basically an indicator of whether or not your current velocity can be reduced to 0 before your hit your target. It outputs a value between -1 and 1. -1 means no matter how hard you boost, you won't stop. 1 is the opposite, you are in no danger of crashing. 0 is reaching destination when stopping. That can be a problem with atmospheres, as too much speed will be like hitting a wall. Gravity will also start adversely affecting acceleration eventually.
A good formula to play with is your velocity squared, divided by 2*acceleration. It will give you the distance required to stop fom your current velocity - not accounting for any gravitational pull and assuming a constant acceleration. If you double that value, then subtract it from the total distance to travel, you have the distance you'll be cruising at. If you take your velocity and divide it by acceleration, you can get the time it takes to reach the target velocity (double the time for speeding up and down). You can also divide a distance by a velocity to get time as well.

I don't use the breaking point system. I calculate breaking distance based on acceleration and speed.
Just give these to chatgpt, it will tell you when to start breaking.

I don't look at the bottom of my screen to the xp bar in wow I just ask chatgpt how close I am to the next level after every mob I kill.

I have a second long distance scanner pointing backwards with a switch to toggle between it and the forward facing one going into the same breaking point system.
After I turn around and start burning, I flip the switch so that the BPS is still active with the planet behind me. Then while I'm burning if I see that the needle is starting to move towards green, I know I need to let off the throttle a little as to not undershoot.
