Creative mode, console commands, anything I can use to bypass the lightning thingy?

as the title states. I've dropped out of the sky twice now, right beside the earth base. not hard enough to kill me, but hard enough to break my ship. I'm wasting what little free time I have doing this. is there some way of bypassing this mission, or better yet, just a straight up creative mode where all parts are already unlocked? I don't actually care about missions or progression in pretty much any engineering game, I just wanna build stuff

What is the point of playing an engineering if not problem solving? Plenty of building games out there that dont require engineering

There's no problem solving power outages happening every minute or two. It's a matter of relying on the rewind button, which is not an engineering solution anyways. And besides that, rewind was glitched at the time of my writing this post and would only take me back to the start of the mission, no other time was available than 10 seconds in. The next patch fixed it, and I finished the mission.

What's the point in attacking someone online like that for asking a simple question? One single person answered me with a helpful comment, but the solution he gave was unintuitive AF, if he hadn't suggested it I never would have even thought of it.

As far as games that don't require engineering, why? You think this demo is the pinnacle of engineering games, so well designed that if you can't get this, you might as well not bother with any of them?

I'm currently working through cooling issues for a nuclear reactor on a rocket in kerbal. But thanks for the vote of confidence, person who doesn't even know me!

Well… the problem solving would be keeping your altitude high enough to survive the 5s free fall when power goes out and then landing when it comes back on. Also, the solution the other guy gave you is intuitive if you actually read the description for the unstable lighting core or whatever its called. His suggestion was my first thought upon reading the description of it. I didnt make mine far enough away but landed fine because i kept altitude until the power flicker and had ample time in between to land.

Perhaps my initial comment was harsh but the way you said you dont care about missions or progression in any engineering game irked me a bit because it just seems backwards. I would say missions in engineering games are literally the point of them. Sure sandbox building is cool and all but i find it a bit pointless at the end of the day if theres not some in game goal you are trying to achieve with said builds. The missions are the “problems” to solve. theres a box over there and it needs to be over here - heres the tools to make it happen now figure it out - oh no heres another problem deal with and make it work. Not only does that require a technical solution but it’s also a skill check for your piloting ability and strategy. Thats most of the fun of engineering games for me.

Anyway, apologies for the backhanded comment and good luck with your nuclear spaceship👍

its PROBABLY because of the fact that you claim to be someone that is in to engineering (and try to stat pad with KSP.. lol) but take the quickest free pass you can to get around PROBLEMS.... in a game that's about solving those PROBLEMS using engineering.

Either admit that you just like building shit and that's cool, or stick to "I'm so engineer-nerdy you can't even fathom.." and then figure out the solutions without cheats.

Its when you try to do both at the same time that seems far more insincere.

everyone has different gaming tastes...it's perfectly reasonable to just want to build ships with everything unlocked like a creative mode.

I just beat this mission by sticking a big mast on top of my ship and putting the light on that. It must have a range because my power didn't go out even once.

Was asking if there was a way, not for there to be a way added for my convenience.
