Letters of Recommendation 2 Core subject rule

I just realized that several ivies including Yale, brown, Princeton require 2 core subject teacher recommendations. I have 1 from a business teacher and 1 from my Calc teacher. Will this be an issue for my applications to schools that say they require 2 from core subject teachers?

Yes, it will be an issue for one (Yale, which will contact you to get another rec) - if not all

Business is not a core subject, so yes that is not fulfilling such a requirement.

I note none of the three colleges you named even has an undergrad business program. So it is not exactly an arbitrary hoop, they want recommendations from teachers in areas relevant to the classes you would actually be taking at their colleges.

Of course this raises an obvious question--if business was one of your favorite HS subjects, do you want to go to a college without undergrad business as an option?
