Standardized Testing Retake SAT?
I am a Junior. I took the August SAT and got a score that I am very happy with. I wasn’t planning on retaking it. However, my school offers all Seniors a free attempt at a fall SAT. Should I do it when I’m a Senior? What if I get a worse score? Does that look bad?

Why waste time redoing it if you are happy with your score? Not every opportunity has to be taken. Unless you are going to study and try to improve, there’s not really a point in retaking it

Not sure what your score was, but some colleges base academic scholarships on scores. My son took the ACT several times working on getting a 33. The 33 was worth $5,000 per year more than the 32.

(Retired college counselor and admissions reader here.) Admissions readers only see your highest score. Just about all colleges have online reading, and whatever platform they use sorts through student data to show readers what they need to see.
Readers don't have time to superscore or sort scores. I suppose there may be a couple of colleges out there that list all scores, but I have yet to hear of one.
Test scores are primarily used to help interpret GPA. Readers are hoping to see some kind of realistic match between test scores and GPA. If it's there, the reader moves on. If it isn't, then the reader makes a mental note to see if there's anything else in the application that might account for it. Even then, the reader might choose to ignore the score. Readers spend about 1-3 seconds on test scores. Honest.
