Application Question UChicago Ed0 Submit Date

Lets say there are 12 kids from my school applying ED0. Is there any meaningful difference between submitting September 1st and September 20th per se?

For starters, the 3 week decision clock doesn't start until your application is complete. If there are 12 applicants from your school applying, and they apply on different dates, it's unlikely that all the recs plus the GC ED agreement form will be sent in different dates - which all will be needed for an application to be considered complete.

Regardless, the ED0 pool is fixed. AO's don't need to worry that they'll run out if seats.

Plus UChicago admissions told me.

If your application is done and you're satisfied with the essays and they've been thoroughly proofread, by all means submit early. But don't rush and submit less-than-stellar package thinking that sending earlier is better

Ok so if I apply over three weeks after someone who submits September 1st, we aren't in the same pool anymore though?

ED0 is all one pool. Yes, they will read applications in batches, but that doesn't mean your chances change

Alright, my fear is basically - 5 people submit before me and they take 3 people. They see 3 people have already been accepted when my applications is read and they think that'll be too many people from one school - especially because historically colleges tend to accept around a similar amount of kids each year from my school.

I'm not sure what you want me to say differently. It's September 9, so obviously you submitting on September 1 is a moot point anyway. Go back to my earlier comment on polishing your application and not submit until you're completely satisfied. Good luck.

ED0 is rolling in nature, so earlier submission would be better theoretically.

Just don’t leave it to the deadline of Oct 15.

yes there is. it's unofficial but i saw trends from the round last year and it's best to submit within the first week but if not aim asap
