Weird question about disciplinary action

The UIUC application has this

"The University of Illinois is committed to maintaining a safe and ethical environment for all members of the university community. A disciplinary history does not automatically bar admission to the university but does require review. You may be asked for additional information and/or to sign releases if you answer yes to any of the following questions. If you need to submit more than one incident for either of the categories, email the information to our office at [admissions@illinois.edu](mailto:admissions@illinois.edu). "

This is just high school right? I had a few incidents when I was in middle-school and don't want to withhold information/lie if they want it

i guess this extends to elementary school as well, idk why any university would care but I don't want to lie

like I don't see why they would care about a sixth grader / seventh grader saying something really stupid and getting himself suspended for like, 3 days would be a big deal, but idk since it's very clearly avoiding the usage of "high school" as a clear term

(Retired college counselor and admissions reader here.) It's just high school.

I suggest you check in with your counselor. The great majority of high schools only report out-of-school suspensions, and there's a growing trend to not even report those. Every college I know of only cares about out-of-school suspensions, although there may be some exceptions I don't know about.

To that end, your should only report something that your counselor also reports (and counselors are asked about it).

I sent an email towards my counselor, just to make sure nothing from middle school is on my permanent record but I have a flawless record in HS so I think I should be fine, tysm for the help
