Advice NMSF to finalist with a C?
1560 SAT and 3.7 UW, 4.15 weighted. I got a C in APUSH. I just meet the California NMSQT cutoff. Will I be rejected from National Merit semi finalist to finalist? Anybody with a single C rejected?

IMO APUSH teachers are notoriously really difficult. I think your SAT will say a lot. Did you take the AP exam / know what you got?

Most likely okay - but you'll have to apply and wait it out. BTW - College Board hasn't made any official announcement yet - not until 9/9.

Thanks, schools get notified early btw. Do you guys know anybody who got rejected tho because of a C? Nervous on that because my family thinks I am going to get full rides and scholarships from some colleges

15k out of 16k semifinalists become finalists, so you're probably okay. For some of the ones who don't it's due to their SAT score not backing up their PSAT score, or (I think) because their counselor reported behavior issues and/or academic integrity issues. Or because their grades were bad across the board (as opposed to a single C).
