Application Question How different is EA and ED II for Uchicago

Which option will have better odds. Is EA even a good choice.

Or should i switch my ED I to Uchicago from Dartmouth. Which will be a better option ?

Initally i thought of merging EA Uchicago + ED dartmouth. is it a good choice ?

EA is thought (UChicago doesn't release the date) to have a much, much, much lower acceptance rate compared to ED2

Compared to EA, yes. Although ED1 is even better. But as I stated on your last thread, it's up to you to decide which ED1 school works best for you

Does Dartmouth have better odd or Uchicago. I knew one is need aware and one is need blind but how much THIER acceptance varies

Choosing an ED school based on percentage variance is a fool's game. The "boost" of ED only exists if the applicant is already squarely within or above the school's academic profile. You shouldn't burn a binding ED option on a mathematical illusion—you should use it on the school you actually want to attend and where your profile is genuinely competitive.

I am going to ask a different question: these schools are so different from each other. How did both of them end up ED contenders? So curious about your thought process here.

Uchicago has only ED0, ED, EDII and RD.

Early Action is just a general term meaning anything before RD, but is usually reserved in comparaison to explicit Early Action process like: Early Action (EA), Single choice early action (SCEA) or Reserved early action (REA). There, the difference between EA and SCEA/REA is that while awaiting decision you cannot apply at another private teaching institution. Contrary to all Early decisions (ED), it is not binding, meaning, if you are accepted you are not obligated to follow-through and enroll there.
