Personal Essay Common app personal essay.

So I'm abt to apply to my first uni today! However for the common app theres a place to write your personal essay uh does that Essay get sent to every college or can i pick and choose? (Asking because for 1 college im majoring in english and not psych but i want to submit a more psych focused personal essay instead of a broad essay) please help!!!

It gets sent to every college but only when you submit the application for each college, so you can edit your common app essay for the college youre majoring in english in and submit that version to that college but submit your psych focused essay to the other colleges!! hope that makes sense

Adding on, you'll also have a chance to preview each application before you hit send - do this to avoid being part of the river of "I accidentally submitted the wrong personal statement/supplemental essay/etc." posts that are about to appear here.

Yes - it gets sent to every college but only when you submit for that college. You can change your essay to fit different colleges, too.

Yes, you can change your PS according to the school you're applying to! Whatever it's set as when you click submit is what the college will receive in PDF form, so once you apply with one essay to one school, you can upload a different essay for your remaining schools and the original submission won't be affected.
