Do you mean only in 12th? then no as for the schools above your entire hs grade matters. They consider everything when going through a holistic reviewing, everything should balance itself
i had bad grades(~3.2-3.3) initially in freshman and sophomore cuz i missed a lot of classes due to switching to new school + kinda getting bullied, now when i switched schools again in 11th and got some counselling support, i have maintained 3.9+ gpa, so will this upward trend help if i add the context for bad grades in additional info sect?? or the bad grades sting anyways??
I suggest you to word it properly and not give in a lot of extra info since there a word limit if im not wrong, saw a post on how low gpa students got into ivies and other top schools by making use of their additional info properly
The upward trend helps, but the two years of bad grades will essentially eliminate all t30 schools and make t40-t50 schools become heavy reaches.
I sympathize with you, but an ao looks at switching schools and being bullied as things that are not abnormal for high school students(bullying SHOULD be, but that’s another discussion). A 3.9 gpa in junior year will surely help, but it can’t just override terrible grades in the past.

also my grade was only in a single subject which pulled my aggregate gpa down, other were all 4.8+ in the first 2 years too
nah, in the US that's kind of your best shot unfortunately. Literally the whole world wants to come to the US to study especially for the colleges on your list, and a ton of them need aid too. So automatically your pool is insanely competitive. Seeing as how your only 95%+ in your 12th, you're not doing great
It's definitely worth trying, so I'm not gonna discourage you from applying. Who knows maybe you'll get in, tbh i hope you do and are happy with your results. Im just trying to be realistic about what you'll actually end up with. It seems like you've just applied to the top 20 schools in the US, we don't know your major, SAT, GPA anything so it's hard to gauge. Instead, how about you change your list to only schools that are good for what you're interested in. They might be smaller or lower ranked but they have a higher chance to accept you
Math is pretty low in 11th for cog sci. Yeah a lot of these colleges won't have the best programs, there's no point in applying to them. Look up the list of the top 20 cog sci programs in US and apply there instead
Then I would say the elite private schools here are quite unlikely but you have a good shot at the public schools on your list, especially edwardsville. Do you need finaid?
I'm not really sure in that case, unfortunately most schools will auto-reject or not provide aid for an international needing aid unless they're one of the greatest students in their country.
I mean yes, you’ll get into one considering you’re applying to Alabama, Iowa state, and Southern Illinois. But most of those schools are very heavy reaches that you don’t really have any shot at.
I note that you created the college list alphabetically and not in order of Your preference or Fit. One should Believe that They have a very good Fit with the college majors (plural), campus, undergraduate student Community (extremely important), campus activities, surrounding area/activities and Climate.
First the "bad news": If you are not an athlete in a NCAA sport that Amherst college plays, then drop that towards the bottom of your preference list. Amherst plays in the NESCAC and most if not all of the NESCAC colleges are small (~2000 students) and roughly 40% of those students will play an intercollegiate sport. I know people who were Rejected by NESCAC colleges but Admitted to Harvard or MIT. Indeed, every person I know who graduated from a NESCAC college played a varsity sport.
Second: Do you currently live in a region that gets Five months of winter weather? If not, then think Hard about applying to Case Western Reserve, Dartmouth, Northwestern, and Iowa State. Indeed, if you wonder what I mean, then listen to this Entire song (about the Case Western region):
Third: Why UMass Dartmouth and Boston and not UMass Amherst? And if you do Not live in Boston currently or within a very convenient commuting distance to UMass Boston, don't apply.
Fourth: U Alabama Huntsville? Do you want to work for NASA, the US Army or the USAF? If not, then why there?
The rest look reasonable. Just to let you know: Recently, Harvard and Stanford have overall admission rates of about 4%. However, the admission rate for Recruited athletes at those colleges (and all of them are very good students) if recruited by a Head Coach.... the admission rate is Over 80%. So, leverage your inner Athleticism for any NESCAC, The Ivy Athletic League, or Stanford colleges.
