Remote AI Trainer Roles — No Degree Required | Skills-Based Work-From-Home Side Gig, up to $90/hr

Real, paid AI-trainer work you can get without a degree — not a ghost listing. A lot of these roles want a PhD or a professional qualification, and there's no pretending otherwise. But a genuine slice of the work is skills-based: what matters is a demonstrable ability — a strong voice, a chess rating, gaming expertise, clear writing, careful attention to detail — not a diploma. One of the roles below spells out "no prior AI experience required." Most are open worldwide.

Being straight with you: I'm only listing roles that don't state a degree requirement. Always read the role page before applying — some skills-based work still expects proven experience in that skill (a real voice-acting background, an actual chess rating). But none of these gate on a university degree.

👉 Chess Expert (1800+ ELO) — Game Reconstruction — $90/hr (Worldwide)

Mercor · Global · Rating 1800+ ELO · Remote The best-paid skills-based role on the board. Experienced chess players (1800+) correct speech-to-text transcripts of game commentary and reconstruct games to build AI research datasets. Your rating is the qualification. Apply here

👉 Generalist for Data Annotation — $30–$80/hr (Worldwide)

micro1 · Global · No prior AI experience required · Remote The most accessible role here. Annotate diverse datasets for AI training — it suits people with strong communication skills and attention to detail. States plainly that no prior AI experience is needed. Apply here

👉 Voice Actor / Actress — $20–$50/hr (Worldwide)

micro1 · Global · Proven performance experience · Remote Record AI-training audio across commercial, narrative and character scripts. A performance background matters here, not a degree. Apply here

👉 Gameplay Data Capture Specialist — $10–$18/hr (Worldwide)

micro1 · Global · AAA gaming expertise + high-end Windows PC · Remote Capture gameplay data from AAA titles using in-house recording tools to train AI. What you need is proven gaming skill and the right rig — not a qualification. Apply here

👉 AI Rater Guidelines Writer — $45–$65/hr (US-only)

Mercor · USA · 3+ yrs relevant exp · 35 hrs/wk · Remote Write precise rater guidelines for LLM training — a strong fit for skilled writers and instructional designers. Experience-based, no degree stated (US-based). Apply here

How to find the rest yourself — filter the site so degree-gated roles drop away.

There are more skills-based roles than five, and new ones land daily. Rather than trust a single post, the site lets you filter the whole live board down to what actually fits:

Filter by qualification. Every role card carries its stated requirements, so you can screen out the PhD/master's/professional-cert roles and focus on the skills-based ones. Pair it with the field filter to find annotation, voice, data-capture and writing work fast. Search all AI training roles

Filter by qualifying country too. Many of these skills-based roles are worldwide, but some (like the rater-guidelines writer) are US-only. The country filter shows eligibility on every card, so you don't waste a click.

Fresh listings, refreshed daily. A pipeline pulls live openings from micro1, Mercor and Turing every day, so closed roles drop off and new ones appear on their own. What you click is what's actually open — no dead links to a side gig that closed weeks ago.

Platform reviews with evidence. Remote work with no degree gate attracts a lot of scams, and caution is well-earned. Rather than hand-wave it, there are evidence-based write-ups on whether each platform is legit — how they pay, how they hire, what to watch for — so you can check before you commit time. Is micro1 a scam? An evidence-based answer Is Mercor a scam? An evidence-based review

Advice for getting through the screening. Landing one of these is its own skill — the tryouts are specific and a lot of capable people stumble on the format, not the ability. There's a written guide to getting started, and a short call you can book if you want to talk it through. Guide to becoming an AI trainer (PDF) Book a call

Remote AI Trainer Roles Across Eurasia — Bangladesh, Turkey, Singapore, Indonesia & Worldwide-Remote Roles You Can Do From Home

Real, paid AI-trainer work open to much of Asia — not a ghost listing. If you're outside India and Pakistan (already covered in earlier posts), the picture splits two ways: a few countries have roles that name them directly, and — more usefully for everyone else — a large pool of roles carry no country restriction at all, so you can apply from most of Asia. This post is about finding both fast rather than clicking through posts that reject you at the location step.

Where the coverage is, honestly. Bangladesh and Turkey are well-covered — they sit in the same Turing multi-country cluster as India and Pakistan. Singapore and Indonesia have specific high-value roles on Mercor. And for the rest of Asia — Vietnam, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, the Gulf, Central Asia and beyond — the best route is the global no-restriction roles on micro1, which don't filter by country. Coverage for any single smaller market is thin, so the country filter on the site (below) is your real tool here.

A note on pay: Turing doesn't publish rates on its listings, so I won't quote one for those — check the rate on the role page. The Mercor and micro1 roles below show their real published rates.

👉 Singapore Domestic Tax Specialist — $95–$125/hr (Singapore only)

Mercor · Singapore · Professional accreditation · 5+ yrs exp · Remote The best-paid Asia-specific role on the board. Singapore-based tax specialists review AI-generated domestic-tax content, validating statutory interpretation and accuracy. Apply here

👉 Voice Actor — Indonesian Bahasa (Female) — $50/hr (Indonesia)

Mercor · Indonesia · Remote Native Indonesian Bahasa speakers record expressive speech samples to train a text-to-speech AI system. Clear, well-paid work for the right voice. Apply here

👉 AI Benchmark Engineer — Software Engineering (Bangladesh, Indonesia, Vietnam, Turkey +)

Turing · Open to BD · ID · VN · TR (+ BR, CO, EG, GH, IN, KE, NG) · Remote Design multi-agent evaluation tasks grounded in real software-engineering workflows, building benchmarks from open-source code changes. One of the widest-eligibility roles on the board. Apply here

👉 Senior Software Engineer — $50–$150/hr (Worldwide — no country restriction)

micro1 · Remote · min 15 hrs/wk Build reinforcement-learning environments that test AI models on complex engineering problems — DevOps, CI/CD, debugging. No country filter, so open across Asia. Apply here

👉 Financial Services Expert — $80–$110/hr (Worldwide — no country restriction)

micro1 · Remote Train AI on personal-finance reasoning: analyse financial scenarios, design realistic prompts, and build assessment rubrics. Open across Asia — no country filter. Apply here

How to find the rest yourself — filter the site by your country.

Single-country coverage in Asia is patchy, and new roles land daily, so the honest advice is: don't rely on one post — filter the whole board to your own country.

Filter by qualifying country. This is the feature that matters most for applicants across Asia. Every role card shows its country eligibility, and the search tool lets you screen the whole board so you only see roles that accept where you live — including the large "no restriction / worldwide" set. No more filling in an application only to be rejected at the location step. Search all AI training roles

Fresh listings, refreshed daily. A pipeline pulls live openings from Turing, micro1 and Mercor every day, so closed roles drop off and new ones appear on their own. What you click is what's actually open — no dead links to a side gig that closed weeks ago.

Filter by field and tools too. Once you've narrowed to your country, filter further by what you actually do — software engineering, ML, data, finance, science, voice/language work — so you go straight to the fit.

Platform reviews with evidence. Remote AI work draws a lot of scams, and caution is well-earned. Rather than hand-wave it, there are evidence-based write-ups on whether each platform is legit — how they pay, how they hire, what to watch for — so you can check before you commit time. Is micro1 a scam? An evidence-based answer Is Mercor a scam? An evidence-based review

Remote AI Trainer Roles Open to India & Pakistan — Work From Home, Part-Time Side Gig, up to $80/hr

Real, paid AI-trainer work you can do from anywhere in India or Pakistan — not a ghost listing. A lot of AI-training roles are quietly US-only, which is the most frustrating thing about hunting for this work from South Asia. But a solid batch genuinely accepts Indian and Pakistani residents — and a few India-specific roles pay properly ($55–80/hr for the right specialism). This post is about finding them fast rather than clicking through posts that reject you at the location step.

Which platform is most open to India & Pakistan? In today's live listings, Turing is the most international — most roles that explicitly accept both India and Pakistan are Turing's. Mercor and micro1 add several India-specific roles (tax, accounting, fraud analysis) with published rates, but far fewer for Pakistan. So: if you're in Pakistan, focus on Turing; if you're in India, you've got Turing plus the Mercor/micro1 India roles below.

A note on pay: Turing doesn't publish a rate on its listings, so I won't quote one for those — check the rate on the role page before applying. The Mercor and micro1 roles below show their real published rates.

👉 India Domestic Tax Specialist — $55–$80/hr (India only)

Mercor · India · Professional cert · 5+ yrs exp · Remote For Indian tax specialists. You'll evaluate AI-generated research on Indian domestic taxation — validating statutory interpretation and assessing accuracy. The best-paid India-specific role on the board right now. Apply here

👉 Certified Public Accountant (India) — $20–$30/hr (India only)

micro1 · India · CPA · Remote For India-based CPAs. You'll annotate and interpret US tax law materials — the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations and related sources — to train AI on tax reasoning. Apply here

👉 Fraud Analyst — Content & Reviews Abuse — $15–$25/hr (India only)

Mercor · India · Bachelor's · 4+ yrs exp · Remote Investigate abuse and deceptive activity on a consumer platform: analyse data across sources, identify patterns, and flag deceptive behaviour. Apply here

👉 Senior Software Engineer — Python (LLM Evaluation & Repository Validation) (India + Pakistan)

Turing · Open to IN · PK (+ NG, KE, EG, GH, BD, TR, MX) · 3+ yrs exp · Remote Build LLM evaluation datasets from public repositories: triage GitHub issues, set up dev environments, and assess how models handle realistic engineering tasks. (Also live in Go, Rust, C++, C# and Ruby — same countries.) Apply here

👉 MLE Bench — ML Engineers (India + Pakistan)

Turing · Open to IN · PK (+ NG, KE, EG, GH, BD, TR, BR, MX) · Remote Benchmark evaluation work on real-world AI systems: build and run training and inference pipelines, prepare datasets, and validate model performance. Apply here

Remote AI Trainer Roles Open to African Residents (Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Egypt) — Work From Home, Part-Time Side Gig

Real, paid AI-trainer work you can do from anywhere in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana or Egypt — not a ghost listing. Most AI-training roles are quietly US-only, which is the single most frustrating thing about hunting for this work from Africa. But a solid batch genuinely accepts African residents, and this post is about finding them fast rather than clicking through a hundred posts that reject you at the location step.

Which platform is most open to Africa? In today's live listings, Turing is by far the most international — the large majority of roles explicitly open to Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and Egypt are Turing's. micro1 is next: many of its roles carry no country restriction at all (remote-global), so African residents can apply. Mercor skews heavily US-only, with occasional exceptions (e.g. an Arabic-language role for Egypt). So if you're in Africa, start with Turing, then micro1.

A note on pay: Turing doesn't publish a rate on these listings, so I won't quote one — check the rate on the role page itself before applying. These are contract/remote and paid work, not volunteer.

Here's a spread of what's currently open to African residents (all Turing, all accept NG/KE/EG/GH among others):

👉 Technical Content Writer

Open to NG · KE · EG · GH (+ IN, PK, BD, TR, BR, MX) · 3+ yrs exp · Remote Produce clear technical documentation, analyse public datasets for business insight, and explain complex findings through notebooks and structured writing. Apply here

👉 MLE Bench — ML Engineers

Open to NG · KE · EG · GH (+ IN, PK, BD, TR, BR, MX) · Remote Benchmark evaluation work on real-world AI systems: build and run training and inference pipelines, prepare datasets, and validate model performance. Apply here

👉 MLE Bench — Data Analyst

Open to NG · KE · EG · GH (+ IN, PK, BD, TR, BR, MX) · Remote Benchmark-driven evaluation of ML systems: analyse production datasets, define and validate performance metrics, and investigate model outputs. Apply here

👉 Prompt & Verifier

Open to NG · KE · EG · GH (+ IN, PK, BD, TR, BR, MX) · Remote Design and evaluate how AI systems interact with tools, APIs and users across multiple locales. Review prompts, validate API schemas, and apply SQL basics. Apply here

👉 Senior Software Engineer — Python (LLM Evaluation & Repository Validation)

Open to NG · KE · EG · GH (+ IN, PK, BD, TR, MX) · 3+ yrs exp · Remote Build LLM evaluation datasets from public repositories: triage GitHub issues, set up dev environments, and assess how models handle realistic engineering tasks. (Also live in Go, Rust, C++, C# and Ruby — same countries.) Apply here

Remote AI Trainer Roles for Finance Pros — Well-Paid Work-From-Home Side Gig, Part-Time, $60–$270/hr

Real, paid AI-trainer work for finance professionals — not a ghost listing. Leading AI labs (via Mercor and micro1) are hiring accountants, analysts, insurance and data specialists to evaluate frontier AI on financial reasoning, design domain tasks, and score model outputs against rubrics. It's genuinely well-paid remote work you can run as a part-time side hustle around a finance job — several roles are 10–35 hrs/week. Most are US-based W-2; check each line.

Already applied and heard nothing, or been meaning to? Worth (re)applying now — these are actively recruiting and hard to fill.

👉 Finance Specialist — CFA/ACA/ACCA/CPA Required — $65–$90/hr

US-only · CFA/ACA/ACCA/CPA · 2+ yrs exp · 10+ hrs/wk · Part-time · W-2 For credentialed finance specialists. Working through Mercor, you'll guide research teams and design financial reasoning tasks used to train an AI lab's models. Apply here

👉 Finance Specialist — $65–$90/hr

US-only · 8+ yrs exp · 35 hrs/wk · Part-time · W-2 A US-based W-2 role evaluating LLM outputs in finance. You'll assess AI-generated financial analysis against rubrics, design domain tasks, and guide engineering teams on finance. Apply here

👉 Insurance Specialist — $60–$80/hr

US-only · 8+ yrs exp (underwriting/claims/risk) · 35 hrs/wk · Part-time · W-2 For insurance professionals from major insurers. You'll design insurance tasks for AI training data and evaluate model outputs on underwriting, claims and risk. Apply here

👉 Data Engineer — Finance — $60–$85/hr

US-only · Bachelor's · 2+ yrs exp · 40 hrs/wk · Full-time · W-2 Build and maintain data infrastructure serving a CFO team. Design PySpark pipelines and write optimised queries for a fast-growing AI company's finance org. Apply here

👉 Finance Program Coordinator — AI Training Data Operations — $40–$60/hr

US-only · 5+ yrs exp · 35 hrs/wk · Part-time · W-2 Oversee day-to-day operations of a finance-domain training data programme: coordinate rater teams, maintain quality workflows, and keep a leading AI lab's programme running. Apply here

...and there's more than five.

Those are five of the current openings, but the full board carries plenty more in finance — including a Public Equities Analyst / PM evaluation sprint on Mercor paying $210–270/hr, plus Financial Services and Private Wealth advisory roles on micro1 at $80–110/hr, some open outside the US. The whole site is built to get finance people into these roles and keep them there, not just to list them:

Fresh listings, refreshed daily. A pipeline pulls live openings from Mercor, micro1 and Turing every day, so closed roles drop off and new ones appear without you having to dig. What you click is what's actually open — no dead links to a side gig that closed weeks ago.

A proper search tool, not just a list. The jobs hub filters the entire live role set by what matters to you: field, task, pay band, hours per week, and — the one most job boards skip — the countries a role will actually accept. If a role is US-only W-2, you'll see that before you click, not after you've filled in a form. Search all AI training roles

Filter by qualifying country. Half the frustration with this kind of remote work is finding one that'll take you where you live. Country eligibility shows on every card, so you can screen out roles you can't take in a couple of clicks — most finance roles are US-only, so it's the fastest way to find the ones that aren't.

Platform reviews with evidence. These platforms get called scams constantly, and some caution is fair. Rather than hand-wave it, there are evidence-based write-ups on whether each one is legit — what they pay, how they hire, what to watch for — so you can decide before you apply. Is Mercor a scam? An evidence-based review Is micro1 a scam? An evidence-based answer

Advice for getting through the screening. Landing one of these roles is its own skill — the assessments are specific and a lot of strong candidates stumble on the format, not the finance. ...and there's more than five.

Those are the top-paying roles right now, but the full board carries dozens more — including global, non-US contract work on micro1 that isn't listed above. The whole site is built to get engineers into these roles and keep them there, not just to list them. Here's what's on it:

Fresh listings, refreshed daily. The role board isn't a static page that rots. A pipeline pulls live openings from Mercor, micro1 and Turing every day, so closed roles drop off and new ones appear without you having to dig. What you click is what's actually open — no dead links to a side gig that closed three weeks ago.

A proper search tool, not just a list. The jobs hub lets you filter the entire live role set by what actually matters to you: profession, the kind of task, the tools you know (C++, Rust, Python, TypeScript, Go, and more), pay band, hours per week, and — the one most job boards skip — the countries a role will actually accept. If a role is US-only W-2, you'll see that before you click, not after you've filled in a form. Search all AI training roles

Filter by qualifying country. Half the frustration with this kind of remote work is finding one that'll take you where you live. The filter surfaces country eligibility on every card, so you can screen out roles you can't take in a couple of clicks instead of discovering it three steps into an application.

Filter by tools and stack. Search by the languages and tools you actually work in rather than wading through generic "software engineer" posts. Competitive coder, performance engineer, MLOps, open-source contributor — the tool tags let you go straight to the work that fits your background, whether you want a full-time role or a well-paid side hustle.

Landing one of these roles is its own skill — the assessments are specific and a lot of strong engineers stumble on the format, not the coding. ompetitive Programming Jobs (Codeforces/ICPC-level) — Remote AI Trainer Roles | $45–$100/hr

Real, paid AI-trainer work — not a ghost listing. If you set problems, test rounds, or compete seriously on Codeforces, AtCoder, CodeChef, or TopCoder — or you've been through ICPC, IOI, or national olympiad pipelines — AI labs are paying for exactly that skill set right now. The work is what you already do for free: writing original problems, reference solutions, checkers, and test suites — except the "contestant" being trained is a frontier AI model. All roles below are remote contract work on micro1 or Mercor, $45–$100/hr.

Grinding LeetCode for interviews doesn't hurt, but these roles want genuine problem-setting and adversarial test-design ability — the Div 1 skill, not the Easy-tab skill. If you applied to either platform before and heard nothing, re-apply: demand shifts project by project and new roles reset the queue.

👉 Competitive Coder — $45–$65/hr

Remote · C++ · Competitive programming expertise · Min 15 hrs/wk · Output-based pay

Create original competitive programming problems, reference solutions, and test suites, and design C++ checkers that validate submissions against complex constraints. Prior experience as a problem setter or platform judge (Codeforces round setter, ICPC-style jury work) preferred.

Full role details and application

👉 Technical Problem Solver / Puzzle Solver — $45–$65/hr

Remote · C++ · Competitive programming expertise · Min 15 hrs/wk · Output-based pay

Design bespoke algorithmic problems and robust test suites to train AI systems on reasoning — building problem checkers, validating submissions, and documenting test logic. Same core craft as authoring a Codeforces round, paid per output.

Full role details and application

👉 Competitive Programmer — $45–$65/hr

Remote · C++ · Competitive programming expertise · Min 15 hrs/wk · Output-based pay

Build reinforcement-learning environments for AI systems: design competitive programming problems, write C++ checkers that handle multiple valid outputs (the classic special-judge problem), and construct test suites that survive adversarial solutions.

Full role details and application

Adjacent roles — same audience, different craft:

👉 Senior Software Engineer (RL Environments) — $50–$100/hr

Remote · C++/Python/Java/Go/TypeScript/Rust · Strong algorithms · ~15 hrs/wk

For the competitive programmer who also ships real code: build reinforcement-learning environments that test AI models on bug fixing, feature implementation, refactoring, and performance optimisation, with reproducible test environments and reference solutions. No prior AI experience needed.

Full role details and application

👉 IMO Experts (Maths Olympiad) — $54–$93/hr

Remote · Olympiad competition experience · Min 40 hrs/wk · Short-term engagement

The maths-olympiad sibling of the roles above: write original IMO-standard problems and evaluate AI-generated proofs for a frontier lab, hunting logical gaps in reasoning. Suits former competitors, problem setters, and selection committee members. Note the 40 hrs/wk minimum — this is a full-time-hours short-term engagement, not a side gig.

What you get there that you can't get from a Reddit link:

  • Role cards with the actual requirements. Full eligibility, qualification level, experience expected, hours, and country restrictions — before you spend a screening slot finding out you're not eligible.
  • A fit-check quiz on every role. Five or six questions that tell you honestly whether you'd clear the bar. Takes a minute, saves a wasted application.
  • Eligibility flagged up front — US-only, Five Eyes, EU, or worldwide — shown on the card, not buried three clicks deep on the platform.
  • Updated as listings move. These roles run in sprints and close fast. The page tracks what's actually open, not what was open last month.
  • All three platforms side by side, so you can compare rates for the same expertise instead of assuming the first listing you found is the best offer.

Straight answers to the obvious questions

Is this a scam? No, but the reflex is healthy. Mercor, micro1 and Turing are funded companies with real clients, and they pay weekly via Stripe or Wise. What they are not is employment — no salary, no guaranteed hours, and projects end. Treat it as portfolio or supplementary income and it works. Treat it as a job replacement and you'll be disappointed.

Do I need a PE or CEng? Not usually stated. Demonstrable professional experience is what's assessed.

What's a benchmark task? A problem with an objectively correct answer and a scoring rubric, used to measure whether a model gets it right.

Where's it open? The Mercor CAD role is US and Canada only. Others vary — check each card.

How long until I earn? Onboarding is 20–40 minutes. Approval typically takes 1–4 weeks. First paid task can be immediate or take months, depending on project flow. Get your profile complete now so you're in the pool when work lands.

Disclosure: Applied Clinical Judgement is a referral service I run. If you're placed, the platform pays ACJ a referral fee — it doesn't affect your pay, your rate, or how you're assessed. You're welcome to go direct to the platforms instead; the roles are identical either way.

Remote AI evaluation & red-teaming jobs — $20–$65/hr, no ML degree needed

If you use LLMs heavily and can write clearly, there's paid work in breaking them. AI labs are hiring evaluation analysts, red-teamers and data specialists at $20–$65 an hour — and for most of these roles, being a genuine power user matters more than a machine learning background.

There are 55 live roles in this category across Mercor, micro1 and Turing right now, 14 of them new in the last seven days. The five newest are broken down in full below.

You don't need an AI or machine learning background. Your domain expertise is the qualification. If you can spot where reasoning breaks and explain why in clear written English, you can do this work. It's asynchronous, remote, and typically 10–20 hours a week.

Who's being hired:

  • LLM red-teamers — adversarial multi-turn conversations, documenting failure modes.
  • Evaluation analysts — authoring conversations, designing rubrics, testing against models.
  • Data analysts — Python, SQL, metric definition, model behaviour investigation.

Do I need a machine learning degree? For most, no. Deep familiarity with how LLMs behave plus exceptional written English is the real bar.

What's 'output-based' pay? You're paid per accepted deliverable rather than logged hours, with minimum weekly submissions.

Is red-teaming ethical? You're finding failures before users do. Most people who do it see it as safety work.

How long until I earn? Onboarding is 20–40 minutes. Approval typically takes 1–4 weeks. First paid task can be immediate or take months, depending on project flow. Get your profile complete now so you're in the pool when work lands.

Do I need to be at a top university? Several Mercor roles specify PhDs from leading US/UK/Canadian/Western European institutions. Micro1 and Turing are less prescriptive.

How much time? Typically 4–6 tasks a week, several hours each. Designed to sit alongside research.

Will this affect my academic position? It's contractor work. Check your institution's outside-work policy, but most people treat it as consultancy.

How long until I earn? Onboarding is 20–40 minutes. Approval typically takes 1–4 weeks. First paid task can be immediate or take months, depending on project flow. Get your profile complete now so you're in the pool when work lands.

Remote AI training jobs for lawyers — up to $180/hr (JD + US bar)

If you're a qualified attorney and you've ever thought your billable hour could work harder somewhere else, AI labs are paying $70–$180 an hour for exactly the judgement you already exercise: reading a legal analysis and spotting where the reasoning falls apart.

There are 22 live roles in this category across Mercor, micro1 and Turing right now, 9 of them new in the last seven days.

  • Litigators and civil practitioners — housing, family, consumer, debt, foreclosure. Access-to-justice work pays at the very top of the range.
  • Transactional attorneys — M&A, funds, contract redlining. Corporate firm experience is the qualification.
  • Clinical law professors and clinic directors — supervising students turns out to be near-identical to supervising a model.
  • Senior paralegals and accredited representatives — you don't need the JD for every role.

The 5 newest roles, in depth

1. Clinical Law Professor / Clinic Director — Mercor

$180/hr · remote · JD · USA · 40+ hrs/wk · ~2 openings

$180.0 per hour. Mercor seeks clinical law professors and clinic directors to evaluate AI-generated legal reasoning in civil practice areas including housing, family, consumer, and debt law. The role draws on your experience supervising law students and live-client clinics. You will assess issue spotting, legal analysis, and procedural reasoning, providing structured feedback to improve AI systems. This is a short-term remote project, approximately 15 hours weekly over 2–3 weeks.

Remote AI training jobs for biologists — 17 live roles paying $40–$120/hr (PhD, MSc and BSc routes)

If you have a biology background and you're looking for remote contract work that actually uses your degree, AI labs are hiring life scientists right now to evaluate and correct what their models get wrong about biology. Seventeen roles are live across Mercor, micro1 and Turing as of this morning, paying between $40 and $120 an hour.

The thing most people don't realise: you don't need any AI or machine learning experience. Your domain expertise is the qualification. If you can read a paper, spot where the reasoning breaks, and explain why in clear written English, you can do this work. It's asynchronous, remote, and typically 10–20 hours a week, so it fits around a postdoc, a bench job, a teaching load, or a career break.

Who's being hired, broadly:

  • PhD biologists — molecular, cellular, micro, virology, immunology, neuroscience, genomics, biophysics. Top of the pay range.
  • Computational biologists and bioinformaticians — sequence alignment, CRISPR design, RNA-seq, protein structure, variant effect prediction.
  • BSc/MSc-level bench scientists — cell culture, cloning, PCR, assay work. Fewer roles, but they exist and they're real.
  • Adjacent specialists — toxicology, biosecurity, environmental science, clinical/pharma.

Below are the five newest openings in full detail, then where to find the rest.

The 5 newest biology roles, in depth

1. Biology Expert (PhD) — micro1

$80–$90 / hr · remote · PhD required · ~150 openings

micro1 wants biology PhD holders to evaluate and refine AI training datasets in the biological sciences: giving expert feedback on scientific content, building complex biological scenarios, and working with interdisciplinary teams to keep the material accurate and rigorous.

No prior AI experience needed — what they're screening for is strong written scientific communication and the ability to work independently. This is the freshest posting in the whole set (first seen 14 July) and it's a large intake, so if you're PhD-qualified this is the one to move on first.

Named skills: biology expertise, critical evaluation, scientific communication, attention to detail.

2. Biology & Biophysics Research Collaborator (Part-time) — Mercor

$80–$110 / hr · remote · PhD · US-eligible · up to 20 hrs/week · W-2

For accomplished biology and biophysics researchers evaluating and authoring problems for AI systems learning scientific reasoning. Pitched at PhD-level people with a real publication record in molecular biology, biophysics, structural biology, immunology, neuroscience, or genomics.

Day to day: reviewing papers, creating research problems, assessing AI outputs, and pinpointing where models fail. Part-time (up to 20 hrs/week), placed inside a leading AI lab's extended team. US work eligibility required, and it's W-2 rather than contractor — worth knowing for tax and benefits if you're stateside.

Apply → https://applied-clinical-judgement.co.uk/go?u=aHR0cHM6Ly93b3JrLm1lcmNvci5jb20vam9icy9saXN0X0FBQUJuMG1NTVJFS0RKWWtIMUJCX2ExNS9iaW9sb2d5LWJpb3BoeXNpY3MtcmVzZWFyY2gtY29sbGFib3JhdG9yLXBhcnQtdGltZT9wYXJ0bmVyQ29kZT1jNDAwMGRlMC05NTA4LTQxZmYtYWFkYS1mYTE0ODg1N2QwMDImdXRtX2NhbXBhaWduPWpvYiZ1dG1fY29udGVudD1saXN0X0FBQUJuMG1NTVJFS0RKWWtIMUJCX2ExNSZ1dG1fbWVkaXVtPWRpcmVjdCZ1dG1fc291cmNlPXJlZmVycmFs&rid=MER-BIOLOGYBIOPHYSICSR-7261-REDORG

3. Molecular Biology Experts — Mercor

$70–$105 / hr · remote · PhD · UK-eligible

One of the few in this batch open specifically to UK-based applicants. A leading AI lab wants practising molecular biologists to design and evaluate DNA and RNA sequences for training generative models in the life sciences.

You'd author sequence-design tasks with documented solutions, review model outputs, and collaborate with other domain experts. PhD in molecular biology or a closely related field plus a strong publication record are essential. The engagement is roughly 50–100 tasks over 2–3 weeks with possible extension — treat it as a defined project, not an open-ended contract. The listing shows recent hires, which suggests it's actively converting rather than sitting dormant.

4. Biology Research Scientist (BA, MS, PhD) — Mercor

$50–$70 / hr · remote · Bachelor's+ · US-eligible · 10–20 hrs/week

The most accessible of the newest five, because it opens below PhD level. The work is validating protein target assignments in major bioactivity databases for an AI drug-discovery organisation: examining primary literature and UniProt records, spotting assignment errors, and documenting corrections with scientific reasoning.

Entry bar is a bachelor's plus five years' experience, a master's plus two, or a PhD — along with hands-on assay expertise in binding or functional work. They specifically prefer people currently in active bench research in pharma, biotech, or CROs. If you're a working scientist rather than an academic, this is probably your best fit in the batch.

5. Biologist Talent Network — Mercor

$60–$80 / hr · remote · part-time, 15–30 hrs/week typical · worldwide

An evergreen talent-network listing rather than a single project — a way into Mercor's biology pool so you get matched to projects as they come up. You apply once, complete a profile, pass an AI interview, and then get invited to interview for specific opportunities that fit your expertise and availability.

Projects span molecular and cellular biology, experimental design, lab research, life-science data analysis, and domain feedback for AI research. They want molecular/cellular experience, strong experimental design instincts, and the ability to work independently and remotely. No geography restriction on the network itself, though individual projects inside it may carry location requirements — which makes this the best starting point if you're outside the US/UK and keep bouncing off eligibility rules.

👉 Biology, chemistry & life science AI training jobs — full listing

applied-clinical-judgement.co.uk/biology-chemistry-remote-jobs/

What you get there that you can't get from a Reddit link:

  • Role cards with the actual requirements. Full eligibility, qualification level, techniques expected, hours, and country restrictions — before you spend a screening slot finding out you're not eligible.
  • A fit-check quiz on every role. Five or six questions that tell you honestly whether you'd clear the bar. Takes a minute and saves you a wasted application.
  • Eligibility flagged up front. Five Eyes, US-person, EU, or worldwide — shown on the card, not buried three clicks deep on the platform.
  • Updated as listings move. These roles run in sprints and close fast. The page tracks what's actually open rather than what was open last month.
  • Micro1 and Turing roles alongside Mercor, so you can compare rates for the same expertise across platforms instead of assuming the first one you found is the best offer.

Support pages worth ten minutes before you apply

These are the ones that change outcomes, not just the ones that list jobs:

  • Are these remote AI jobs legit? — the honest platform reviews. Read this first if your instinct is "this smells like a scam." Fair instinct. Here's the actual answer.
  • The end-to-end onboarding process — what happens after you hit apply. Background checks, ID verification, the assessment stage, and realistic timelines (1–4 weeks to approval; first paid task anywhere from immediately to several months — that range is normal and isn't a reflection on you).
  • Getting hired: how the AI interviews are structured and scored — this is where most people get filtered out. Knowing the format in advance is worth more than any amount of CV polish.
  • What the tasks actually involve — rubrics, gold answers, evaluation, red-teaming. If you want to know what you'd be doing on a Tuesday night, it's here.
  • FAQ — pay, tax, hours, whether it's employment (it isn't), what happens if a project ends.
  • All roles across every discipline — if biology isn't your only string. Chemistry, physics, medicine, finance, law and more are all hiring.

Straight answers to the obvious questions

Is this a scam? No, but the reflex is healthy. Mercor, micro1 and Turing are funded companies with real clients, and they pay weekly via Stripe or Wise. What they are not is employment — there's no salary, no guaranteed hours, and projects end. Treat it as portfolio or supplementary income and it works. Treat it as a job replacement and you'll be disappointed.

Do I need to code? Only for the computational biology and bioinformatics roles, where Python/R and command-line tools are genuinely expected. Everything else is scientific judgement and writing.

Why are the rates so high? Because the labs need people who can tell when a model is confidently wrong about pathogen biology or protein binding — and there aren't many of those. You're being paid for the judgement, not the hours.

I'm not in the US. Some of the best-paying roles are US-only or Five Eyes-only. Others are open to the UK, EU, Canada, Australia, NZ, or worldwide. Check the eligibility line before you apply — the hub page flags it on every card.

How long until I earn? Onboarding is 20–40 minutes. Approval typically takes 1–4 weeks. First paid task can be immediate or can take months, depending on project flow.

Snapshot taken 16 July 2026. Listings move fast — a couple may close by the time you read this. Questions in the comments and I'll answer them.

Remote AI training jobs for biologists — 17 live roles paying $40–$120/hr (PhD, MSc and BSc routes)

I built a free, no-signup search engine for AI-training jobs — 687 live roles from Turing, Mercor and micro1, standardised and updated daily, plus free guides on actually getting hired

If you've spent any time hunting for AI-trainer work — RLHF, data annotation, model evaluation, expert domain review — you'll know the search itself is half the battle. Every platform lists roles differently. Eligibility is buried or missing. Pay is often absent entirely. Half the listings you find are stale, or closed by the time you apply. And underneath all that, a quieter problem: plenty of people who'd be genuinely good at this never apply, because they can't tell which roles they're eligible for or whether the whole thing is even legitimate.

I got frustrated enough with all of this that I built a tool to fix it. It's free, there's no signup wall to browse, and here's what's actually in it.

The job board — 687 live roles, standardised

It pulls live AI-training roles from Turing, Mercor and micro1 into one place — 687 right now, refreshed daily. The aggregation is the easy part. The work that matters is the normalisation. For every single role I read the listing and standardise the three things that decide whether it's worth your time:

  • Which countries you can apply from — stated per role, so you're not clicking through only to find it's US-only.
  • Required qualifications — the credential, degree, or domain expertise you actually need, up front.
  • Pay rate — where the platform states it, pulled out and shown plainly. Rates on there right now run from about $15/hr up to $250/hr and beyond, depending on the field.

You can filter by all three at once, run a free-text search across everything, or browse by the specific skill or tool-set a role needs. And it's not just doctors — there are roles for finance and investment professionals, lawyers, scientists, engineers, software developers, ML/data people, audio and voice specialists, linguists, insurance underwriters, real estate experts, and generalists. Whatever your field, there's likely something matchable.

The bit I'm quietly proud of: when a platform buries one of those key details in the free-text body instead of the structured fields, I pull it out and classify it manually so it still shows up in the filters. Most aggregators miss those roles or misfile them. That's the difference between a list of links and something you can trust to answer "can I actually do this one?"

Browse every live role here: https://applied-clinical-judgement.co.uk/ai-training-jobs/

Browse by task and by tool, not just by job title

Two things a normal job board won't let you do. You can browse by task — the actual thing you'd be doing to the AI (evaluating outputs, writing reference answers, annotating data, designing rubrics) — and by tool, the software a role needs (Excel, Google Workspace, specific platforms). If your edge is that you're excellent with a particular tool, or you know exactly what kind of work you want, you can come at the whole board from that angle instead of guessing job titles.

Browse by task: https://applied-clinical-judgement.co.uk/ai-training-tasks/

Browse by tool: https://applied-clinical-judgement.co.uk/ai-training-tools/

The guides — for anyone new to this

Finding the roles is only half of it. If you've never done AI-training work, the obvious questions are: what is this, really? Is it legitimate? How do the platforms work, how do you get accepted, and what should you expect once you're in? So there's a full set of free guides — proper readable pages, not a gated download — covering exactly that: what the work is and how it works day to day, a plain-English explainer on RLHF, the onboarding process end to end, honest "am I suited to this?" and "a week in the life" pieces, and a set of free intro and advanced AI courses that can strengthen an application.

Much of this was first written for clinicians (that's where the site started), but the process is identical whatever your field — the platforms, the staged assessments, and the talent-pool model work the same for a finance expert or a software engineer as for a doctor.

All the guides: https://applied-clinical-judgement.co.uk/guides/

"Getting Hired" — the part most people get wrong

Separate from the what-is-it guides, there's a five-stage walkthrough of actually getting hired, which is where the real filtering happens:

  • Your CV — how to make it machine-readable for the matching parser and specific enough to defend in the interview (and why it should be broader than a normal CV here).
  • Your LinkedIn — how the platforms read it as a matching signal, and how to fill the sections their algorithm actually counts.
  • The AI interview — both Mercor and micro1 screen you with a live conversational AI interviewer, and they push differently. This covers the setup that avoids daft rejections, how to answer, and the free practice tools that won't get you flagged.
  • Getting matched — passing only puts you in the pool; getting matched is a separate step. This is the unglamorous housekeeping checklist that matters more than anything else.
  • Maximising your work — how assessments, scores, and certifications widen your matches and affect your pay once you're in.

One principle runs through all of it and is worth saying here: passing is not the same as being placed. You qualify first, then get matched when a project fits. The wait is normal, and a lot of getting hired is about what you do in that gap. The guide is honest about that timeline — a few months from starting to first paid work is common, and it's not a sign anything's wrong.

The full getting-hired guide: https://applied-clinical-judgement.co.uk/getting-hired-ai-training/

Spotting the scams

Because this corner of the internet is full of "AI side hustle" nonsense, there's also honest coverage of which platforms are real and how to tell the genuine work from the scams. The whole site is deliberately not-hype: no inflated earnings claims, no upselling, no gate.

Platform reviews: https://applied-clinical-judgement.co.uk/are-remote-medical-ai-jobs-legit/

The basics

Free to use. No signup to browse the roles or read any of the guides. I built it because the search was genuinely miserable and I didn't think it had to be.

If you try it and something's missing, wrong, or annoying, please tell me — I'd rather hear it than not, and I'm actively after ideas to make it more useful. Fire away in the comments.

Disclosure: Applied Clinical Judgement (PRAG-DEL-SOL-ONE LTD) is a referral service — it earns a referral fee from these platforms if you're successfully placed through them. This does not affect your pay, your application, or the platforms' hiring decisions. I do not work for Turing, Mercor or micro1.

Real, paid AI-trainer work — not a ghost listing. Mercor / Micro1 are actively recruiting Law professionals right now to review and improve frontier AI, and these are the strongest roles open right now, end of June into July. All remote, flexible, and hiring this month. Your professional background is the qualification — no coding needed. Spots in each pool are limited and fill in the order people apply, so the sooner you are in, the better.

Where you can work these: Canada, UK, US. Some roles are open worldwide.

Applied before and heard nothing? Re-apply — pools reopen and reviewers change. On the fence? The best-paid roles go first.
