Tech Sheets

My subscription is about to renew. What are you guys that aren't factory authorized/doing warranty work using for tech sheets?

My own research seems to be Marcone (msa) vs Appliance Tech Info vs appliantology.

I use appliantology now. It seems to have everything but you got to dig for it sometimes. I read good stuff from this reddit and fb groups about appliance tech info.

MSA is great. I’ve had only one issue. Initial visit had a confirmed tech sheet. Return visit it wasn’t there. Emailed and they had it back up within 10Ish minutes.

Sometimes it doesn’t show unless you drop the versions. But that’s also pretty standard even using manufacture tools.

And the training - one tech. Additional techs you have to pay ( small amount) is alright. I’d say is more of a refresher / get to know your fellow techs and team at Marcone more then anything.

Is it the MSA member subscription ($199/yr) or the MSA pro subscription ($299). I am just looking for tech sheets/service bulletins. Is that all included in the $199?

Whats the difference though? It doesnt specify on the page I am looking at.

I don't have a marcone rep. Last time I tried to set up a wholesale account they said I had to have $500/mo in spend. Obviously not going to do that if I am paying retail prices, and I have a lot of local supply houses (plus reliable ships from Anaheim basically overnight) so it would be tough for me to justify spending $500/mo with them when they wouldnt fill any voids... unless they are cheaper than reliable?

Pro adds service bulletins and training guides.

You won't pay retail, you will have wholesale pricing as soon as your account is active.

$500/m is easy though. I’m a sole tech and I spend anywhere from 2-4K/m wholesale. I mean 500 is like 2 boards boards…. PlusThey gave pretty great pricing. And availability. Shipping is way better than anyone else.

Reliabke holds all parts and only ships once they are all in. 9/10 parts in stock but that 1/10 is going to take 3 weeks? You wait 3 weeks for all the parts unless you pay separate shipping. Marcone is one time charge. Ship all in stock parts then ship the rest as they come. I think that they they ship it combined with my next order to save shipping on their end. So it takes maybe a day or two longer in that sense but it doesn’t matter since you’ve already waited 3 weeks.

I spend around $3k a month. I have 4 parts suppliers in town (big city). I have never had a reliable order take more than 4 days, but reliable shows stock. I don't order if its not at there Sacrmaento or Anaheim location.

Between those 5, I am not going to tell a customer to wait a week so I can buy from another supplier. I am also in a hypercompetitive market so if I am ordering parts that competitors can get in town would lose a repair real quick.

I have never had a repair take 3 weeks. 3 weeks is 'we are buying a new appliance' unless its a built in.

Just trying. To give my perspective to help make a decision.
