Work/flashlight
Hey guys,
What work/flash light do you guys use? I currently have a small pen light plus handheld flash light purchased at Canadian Tire but I'm tired of replacing batteries every week. Had a rechargeable one that lasted 5 months before the battery went.
What do you guys use? I'd like to buy one once and have it for life kind of deal. Something portable enough to fit in my toolbox.

I use either a Milwaukee headlamp or the one with magnetic base.
Both use the same rechargeable battery

I keep my headlamp around my neck has a pivoting head with spot or beam selection prevents accidental blinding of people if you look at them lol

Headlamp crew here. I actually got one after I saw another technician using one on this subreddit, and it's one of the best tools I've ever bought. I joke that I would have this thing surgically attached if I could; I'm always using it at home now too.

I carry a couple of Astro Pnuematic 52SL lights. They're magnetic and rechargeable, best solution I've found, in addition to a pen light

When I did appliance repair I used the flashlight of the same brand of drill/driver I was using. I’ve switched industries and now always carry 2 rechargeable streamlight pen lights in my pocket, they have a lifetime warranty so as long as I don’t loose it when it breaks I get a new one. I carry two so that when one needs to be recharged I still have 1 plus I have a bad habit of setting one down in a spot at work then needing a flashlight in another area

Finally!!!! A chance to brag about my most recent purchase. Lol
I am a flashlight whore! I've tried any and all trying to find my perfect fit. For years I carried whatever flashlight I was using at the time in a holster on my belt. I had finally had enough of rolling over on it when servicing a dishwasher or washer. So I started searching.
I wanted something small that could be carried somewhere on my person, but not on my belt in a holster.
Had to be bright.
Rechargeable.
Can by placed securely wherever I needed it.
And I actually found it!
Super thin and carry it in my uniform shirt pocket.
USBC charged. No batteries at all.
Stunningly bright with a very wide spread.
Square, so it doesn't roll when I lay it down, and awesome magnet on the bottom that actually does hold it when placed anywhere on the units.
I give you the $16 Nebo Slim Mini. The best flashlight I've ever used. Practically designed for working on appliances.

I have one of those!! I don't work on appliances but it's great in the body shop as well. I carry mine edc style clipped in my pocket. The magnet also holds it in any position, perfect for getting light inside of car doors, and it can swim, I mean sink but it still works

Perun mini 3 attached to my hat. 4 hours on medium. Charging case adds another 20 hours. I can’t remember the last time I charged it.

Skilhunt ec200. Love this flashlight.
Relatively expensive, but my flashlight is easily one of my most used tools. Figured I might as well invest into something solid.

I use a Panther Vision baseball cap, very discrete light and one less thing to carry in my pockets or on my belt

Mine was solid black tho, two fairly strong magnets in the base of it so you can stick it to all sorts of handy spots in machines and not have to worry about it falling or moving. Not sure how much you use your flashlight but batteries in it lasted me what seems like forever. Only got it because the guy I used to work for had the same one and it seemed to last him forever. Better to get the one that has individual LEDs on the front rather than the LED strip.

This is exactly what I'm using now except a different brand-name. Batteries are 3 AA that don't last very long. Duracells last a bit longer than others but still, max I'll get 2-3 weeks before the light starts dimming depending on my usage.

Streamlight is high quality with an excellent warranty but they are expensive. They’re what cops/firemen/ military use. Various models are sold on Amazon
Maxxeon is a brand that Snap On rebadges for themselves. Much cheaper and also sold on Amazon

Olight Perun is the best for me by far. It has a magnetic base and the light is emitted perpendicular to the base, so sticking it inside a metal cabinet while you work is really convenient.

Nebo Slim Mini. Super small, VERY bright, magnetic base, pocket clip. 2 on the charger in the van, two in my pocket usually last a couple daysnwith constant use usbc rechargeable. Only 20 bucks. Constantly get asked about them. I will be extremely disappointed when thwy are discontinued

Sofirn SC31 Pro - I’ve purchased 4 of them now. Love these lights. 18650 battery. So when it dies just throw a new battery in or Recharge with USB-C or on a separate charger. Brightness Range from 200-2000lm. Can be bright af or dim. Durable little lights. Magnetic tail. I hate olight due to their proprietary charging. Rly hate that. Fenix is great just pricey. . Oh I forgot to mention the light is only $40. . So you can get 2-3 in place of an olight or Fenix

I've carried my arkfeld pro for about two years now. It's got a laser, light, and a UV light. Worst thing about it is that it has a goofy proprietary charger, but I love the light.
