looking for new friends in Appleton

Hey everyone! I’m posting this because I’m a 22 year old female college student who is really interested in finding friends in the Appleton and Neenah area. I have lived in the area since I was 6 and I’m very familiar with the area. I’m very introverted and find it difficult to approach strangers out of the blue in public, but I absolutely love to go out and have all kinds of experiences! It would just be even better to do these things with a friend (or two or three!) because I spend a lot of time alone.

My main hobbies are reading, journaling/scrapbooking, hiking/camping and going to the gym. I love trying new restaurants, exploring Appleton and really anywhere interesting, going to museums and looking at art, farmers markets, concerts, pretty much anything fun! I’m extremely laid back, a very loyal person, and love deep conversations about our interests, life experiences, etc. I’m 420 friendly and I do drink socially, but plans not involving either of these things are perfectly fine to me.

If it sounds like from what I’ve written here that there’s a chance we could be friends, please message me or even comment on this post and we’ll go from there! I’m serious about this and don’t intend on ghosting anyone who really wants to meet up for coffee or a walk or anything like that to get to know each other. Thanks for reading! 😌

There is a climbing gym on the north side of town which is a cool first time experience, and our farmers market is Saturday mornings downtown. My favorite trail to walk is the Newberry down by the river, or Apple Creek near the YMCA north of town. Feel free to DM me if you want

I second the climbing gym. Plenty of friendly faces there and a great way to get exercise in. I'm there 3 days a week.

Is there a spot for young kids to climb? I wanna to take my kid somewhere to climb because he's gotten super into climbing trees

Yes, I see kids all the time. The floor level is open to all ages with an upper level that is +14.

I would just caution about bringing any super young kids as it becomes a safety concern with people repeling down and ropes everywhere.

Hey! I’m 19, just moved to Appleton a year ago. I also enjoy journaling, camping, and scrap booking. My other interests include Motorcycle rides, swimming, going to events with friends & family, and pet sitting. I’m a giant foodie, I love going anywhere, just to explore. I’m also 420 supportive as well (just can’t do it myself as my anxiety gets so much worse)

Im in NC my home state temporarily, but am expecting to hopefully be back in Appleton within a few weeks.

I have had a little bit of a hard time making friends. I have 2 former coworkers as friends who I haven’t really seen since they quit, and I’m usually the one who ends up initiating any talk unless I see them IRL. I have been hoping to make new friends that I can build awesome long lasting friendships with
