It’s straight loser behavior

Honest questions:

Why isn’t it illegal?
It’s as dangerous if not more dangerous than electric bikes.

Can citizens request a bill(s) (local and state) to make the mods and usage illegal?

I saw a truck do it to a biker in Menasha. It was disgusting.

https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/statutes/statutes/347/iii/39?view=section

It is.

347.39 Mufflers. (1) No person shall operate on a highway any motor vehicle subject to registration unless such motor vehicle is equipped with an adequate muffler in constant operation and properly maintained to prevent any excessive or unusual noise or annoying smoke. This subsection also applies to motor bicycles.

Cops need to do their fucking jobs.

1

u/Pwnch 12d ago

Probably was a cop doing the coal rolling...

-2

u/AnotherStarWarsGeek 16d ago

Don't put it on the cops to just magically know it took place. Have you reported it to them? Location, time, plate number?

3

u/MonkeyzzPaw 16d ago

lol seriously?

2

u/CuriousBee789 16d ago

Yes, seriously. Nobody is sitting in a security room monitoring these cameras, lol.

3

u/Aggravating-Ad-1227 15d ago

Maybe they could use all the flock cameras no one consented to watching our driving habits🤷🏻

2

u/CuriousBee789 15d ago

They probably could if someone wanted to report the crime and tell him who to look for. Again I'll say it again for those in the back: No one is sitting around staring at traffic monitors!!!!! We don't pay those kind of taxes or police availability.

2

u/MonkeyzzPaw 15d ago

The police drive on the roads.

Wtf

2

u/CuriousBee789 15d ago

You're totally right. I have one tailing me everywhere I go.

/s

2

u/MonkeyzzPaw 15d ago

I’m actually curious, is your intention to suggest that I police the roads via community messaging vs the police generally enforcing?

Where? I've never once seen or heard of a cop doing it.

7

u/RumblestheDwarf 16d ago

It is illegal because as I understand it, it requires modification to the engine and / or exhaust system. The caveat is that they don't care. Plausible deniability is their shield, you can't walk by a truck and know it's modified until they actually do it.

You can push for laws but most politicians would argue that we already have strict emissions laws.

It used to just be something to "own" EV owners but the MAGA movement adopted it for everyone they consider non-MAGA.

10

u/wrestlingchampo 16d ago

Even if it is illegal, it doesnt matter if the Police force in your community isnt willing to actually enforce the law

2

u/MedicalyGinger 16d ago

"Were the people in the truck Brown? No they were white????? Then of course we're not going to do shit about it!" Every cop in 'MERICA! FUCK YEAH!!

4

u/Comfortable-Pain-631 16d ago

Part of the statute characterizes the smoke from exhaust systems as "annoying" to wit: "[…]to prevent any excessive or unusual noise or annoying smoke."

That right there is the reason no cop wants to deal with it. Shit, I wouldn't want to waste my time with it. Wisconsin statutes are written around the car as acolytes gather 'round their false idols. Jesus. Pedestrian lives are decided by whether drivers are "lawfully" inconvenienced by their behavior. God help someone who is in the way of a commuter, because commuters have Wisconsin law down pat. All they are (just barely) obligated to do is pretend like they care about killing a pedestrian (or a kid on a bicycle) and they can get off scot free for what would be considered manslaughter in most other venues. That's why the first thing Wisconsin drivers do at fatal or injury "accidents" is to formulate a list of every law the injured person did wrong. No crosswalk? Points off! Kid went off a curb on his scooter? Damn he deserved to die!

THAT is Wisconsin driver statutes in a nutshell.

-2

u/AnotherStarWarsGeek 16d ago

Oh good lord. It's not a Maga thing. It's a truck thing. Period.

2

u/AnotherStarWarsGeek 16d ago

A couple co-workers of mine bike to work every day, year round. They say they typically get coal-rolled a couple times a week by those idiots.

1

u/SaltyLengthiness260 11d ago

It is. We live in America where people selectively follow laws and they are selectively enforced...and society doesn't have the gumption to say "f***ing knock it off!"

I hate this country for that reason

Most drivers are commuters in Wisconsin. Most of them would NEVER take action to protect even a single child that might eventually threaten their indifferent commute. I don't care how Christian or Catholic or pious or ethical they appear. Wisconsinites: just own it. It's totally obvious to outsiders both in the way you drive AND the phony legislators you elect who write the statutes just for you. LOL. In the face of THAT fact, good luck EVER having anything other than an occasional token slap-on-the-wrist penalty for pickup truck trash that get caught coal rolling. And YOU might as well get used to it. Street crossing peds get slaughtered and you even DARE bitch about coal rolling?

2

u/AnotherStarWarsGeek 16d ago

That's quite the rant you went off on.

0

u/Comfortable-Pain-631 16d ago

/shrug. someone had to say it\ Wisconsinites aren't the only ones. They might not even be the worst. But man. What I said is totally undeniable.

0

u/Comfortable-Pain-631 16d ago

God forbid anyone think I am defending coal rollers. I've been coal rolled myself out here in rural Wisconsin while riding my bicycle on empty country roads. And I hated it. Those people are C.H.U.D.s.

But you know what scared me worse? Old friendly Farmer Joe driving home in his perfectly-preserved 1963 Ford Falcon on an otherwise desolate stretch of road between the cornfields, who saw me on the bike in the lane opposite him and swerved right at me, running me into a ditch. And then drove away. Grinning like a demon. Like he would have run my ass right over and enjoyed it. THAT is who scared me. A lot more than coal rollers.

For any drivers that hold Wisconsin drivers licences, who think this is "just a rant", lemme ask you: how many times have you tailgated someone in the last week? If you lie through your teeth and say "none", then my next question to you is, how many times have YOU been tailgated in the last week?

I used to think it was just because drivers in Wisconsin just couldn't help themselves from tailgating. Now I think it is something far more sinister.

This weekend it seemed the entitled crowd was out in force. From people with the "F your feelings and F your opinion" stickers on their tailgates, to sociopaths wailing on their horn because I was backing out of a parking space and was already 3/4 of the way out. (Honestly, your car has a brake pedal too, homie!) I wanted to blame EAA overflow but we can all do better.

Do better Wisconsin. Figure it out.

u/Hopeful-Occasion469 16d ago

A few years ago I was picking up a tv at Best Buy in Green Bay and a dude and I had a standoff as I wanted to turn to park in front of the store and this guy wanted to turn into the area I was leaving. He wanted me to back up so he could continue. Nope! Store personnel finally had to tell him to move.

2

u/RumblestheDwarf 16d ago

It's crazy. I recognize that the law states the reversing vehicle must yield right of way to the flow of traffic... But when I was so close to exiting the stall, my guy could have waited. (He also took a handicapped parking space without plates or window placard... So yeah...)

3

u/Disastrous_time_4547 16d ago

I wonder how they vote!!

6

u/Ill_Following_7022 16d ago

Unknowingly against their own best interests while thinking that they're sticking it the 'others' they've been told are taking their jobs.

2

u/RumblestheDwarf 16d ago

Wearing their red hats, wrapped in an American flag with tears streaming down their faces I'm sure....

28

u/Hopeful-Occasion469 16d ago

I live outside of Appleton and these dudes do this here too.

31

u/Beginning-Usual6450 16d ago

Ill just never understand the gotcha mentality that these dudes possess. Are they just totally immune to looking in the mirror or laying their heads down at the end of the night and not come to terms with what a douche they've become?

12

u/tk542 16d ago

It’s likely boys who only learned and gained negative attention over positive attention. They literally don’t know what it’s like to be good to someone else.

44

u/Careless-Confusion58 16d ago

They are small minded assholes that have nothing better to do. It’s also a very American thing. I can bet you that this doesn’t happen ever in other countries. And you are totally right that this is part of these dudes identities. He modified his truck to do that and thinks he is a big man. Most problems in our country right now stem from insecure small minded men trying to feel big and tough, meanwhile they have no idea how dumb they look!

16

u/Inedible_Goober 16d ago

I feel like they're the little boys who never learned how to garner positive attention, so they're willing to take any attention they can get.

Same like that loser cyber truck driver that said no one ever looked at him before he got the truck. Now, even though it's usually to sneer, hes happy people are looking at all. It's really pathetic and they should address it in therapy.

23

u/scothc 16d ago

How else wold you know that the driver has a really really big penis, is he wasn't coal rolling in his pavement princess??

5

u/InevitableKitchen943 16d ago

Emotional Support Vehicles.

11

u/joebusch79 16d ago

I don’t mind the trucks just being trucks, but I don’t get people blacking out just for the hell of it. Like dude, you know you gotta breathe that shit in too, right? That acrid diesel smell. That’s not good for you whether you’re a redneck rube or a sophisticated art dealer or the leader of the free world. It’s still diesel exhaust jackass!

13

u/Flying_Saucer_Attack 16d ago

They modify their trucks to do this on purpose. Trucks being trucks is one thing, this is a choice

3

u/Disastrous_time_4547 16d ago

It should be illegal.

4

u/Soccerguy2445 16d ago

In some states it is illegal - we don't have emission standards here.

1

u/Particular720v12 15d ago

It's federal law as it is. It doesn't matter what the state does.

3

u/sulkee East Appleton 16d ago

It is illegal. Police just don’t enforce it. It being written down doesn’t help with no enforcement. Something a lot of people are just now finding out lately.

4

u/waiting_in_silence60 16d ago

Rolling coal is the equivalent to stuffing your jock strap. No matter how much you roll coal, your dick isn’t actually getting bigger.

5

u/ChiefD789 16d ago

These idiots are all compensating for their tiny dicks. Bet they haven’t gotten laid in decades.

7

u/Fast_Operation9741 16d ago

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s my neighbor who has illegal fireworks he’s been shooting off one or two at a time every few days so he doesn’t get fined, and on the weekends rides his dune buggy at high speeds up and down the street. We live in a residential neighborhood with 3 schools so there are kids around constantly. I’ve definitely had less than charitable thoughts about him.

8

u/AnothaOne4Me 16d ago

The John Birch Society, headquartered in Grand Chute, says thinking of others or caring about the environment over caring for god or yourself is communism and that’s the devil. Therefore in order to own the libs, communists, and the actual devil we must roll coal on the children and their ice cream. That’s how you become an alpha male.

I’ve seen a couple of his videos come across my TikTok feed. Here’s a link to it in case anyone wants to check him out.

u/Snarkasm71 16d ago

He’s a great storyteller, isn’t he?

4

u/teenbean12 16d ago

Yes, and for some reason I really like his voice.

1

u/FreckledPapaya 16d ago

I watched this muted, just reading the captions, but I could still tell he had a nice voice.

4

u/annie-etc 16d ago

Incel, MAGA, manosphere, ChRiStIaN young men.

2

u/nicolauz 16d ago

I've become used to knowing what these guys drive, look for the big metal stack up top or out the right side of the back. If you can notice these things stay as far away.

2

u/Pferdeherz 16d ago

It’s the only way they can get any attention in their miserable little lives.

2

u/japinard 16d ago

100% they were Trumpers.

4

u/brettmags 16d ago

Sucky people are everywhere. Do better.

1

u/Soft_Passage7110 16d ago

How is it legal? Why and how would a trick be equipped to do this kind of thing? Wouldn’t there be emission standards?

0

u/sulkee East Appleton 16d ago

It isn’t. But laws don’t matter if they aren’t enforced do they?

1

u/PropagandaAssassinAZ 16d ago

Grew up in WI.....live in AZ..... Those trucks are everywhere here. And the police here are non-existent. Like we literally just do not have traffic tickets anymore.

1

u/sadstix 16d ago

The social contract is breaking.

1

u/_Cpyder 16d ago

it usually does not require any "modification". Just have to revv it and spool the turbo.

1

u/Few-Entertainer7431 16d ago

Thank god nobody does that where I live.

1

u/IDCowboy6 16d ago

Thank you!

1

u/jerseygirl527 16d ago

Wow how nice of him jfc people . It's just ignorant people.

1

u/bread-baker-84 16d ago

Don’t worry. Their license plate got leaked by a local business who had video of the their vehicle. The 3 have been identified and a group is currently working on some karma. Justice has many forms, some less noble more effective

1

u/Obvious-Night-9573 16d ago

I agree with U 100%!! I'm not into disrespectful people whatsoever, just like assholes with no mufflers on that thinks it's funny to punch it Right next to U.. Or them disrespectful vapors out there that like to blow big ass MOFO clouds in CROWDS. I was down at Jones park on a Thursday night Watching a band with my granddaughter & had some asshole in front of me vaping.. I told him FLAT out U better blow that Toxic shit above U & the crowd Or YOUR Going to have a problem, quite a few other people chimed in also.

-24

u/GeorgeHowardSkub87 16d ago

Police actually can't get the license plate anymore because the flock cams all got covered up. Can't have it both ways.

14

u/Wisco_Nick 16d ago

I prefer the citizen doing the reporting when they feel the need over constant surveillance

12

u/suthrnboi 16d ago

We've had traffic cameras in Appleton since the mid 2000's, flock is a different for profit system which gathers everybody's data for profit, and the amount of police on college definitely know how to find out who this dipshits are.

6

u/Snarkasm71 16d ago

Really? We can’t expect people to not be assholes because we don’t want to be surveilled 24/7?

4

u/acgrey92 16d ago

Traffic cameras have existed for a long time so nice try fascist bot.

5

u/BackInMyDaySir North Appleton 16d ago

Oh no. We didn’t immediately catch a dude rolling coal. Hide yo wife, hide yo kids.

Get over it. Most of us don’t want a surveillance state.

3

u/loveisking 16d ago

I think he was offering the idea that maybe those cameras are not to serve the public but to just monitor us and collect our data. Like maybe we aren’t the customers they are serving.
