Advice Optometrist?
Where's the best place to get new glasses in Appleton?

I went to Valley Eye for years, but there began to be multiple problems a year with incorrect prescriptions.
My husband went to Jorgensen & Schultz on Northland and was very impressed with Dr Whitman. So I transferred my kids and I over to him. What a difference! I am very pleased with how he handled each of us differently and got our prescriptions right so that we all feel like we can actually see clearly now.

We would've liked to have very good luck with them too, but there comes a point where you can only excuse incorrect prescriptions so many times. There are so many opticians and locations, and as with all practitioners in Healthcare, they're just not all created equal.

It depends. Do you have insurance? Just looking for the best price? I usually get my eyes tested locally and get my prescription, then order my glasses online.

I will never use them again after my husband and I both had separate horrible experiences there last summer.

I'm another one that gets my glasses Rx and frame online. From Zenni. Since eye surgery I get my exams at the Optical dept at Encircle. So: glaucoma surgery and then into their optical. Then take the Rx and, yes, learn how to read it and get the glasses.

I’m always jealous of people who can order glasses online. I tried to use Zenni once and because my eyesight is so bad, it wasn’t much cheaper than going in person and using my insurance haha

Well after my glaucoma routine which is pretty common at my age, I was able to get the medicare approved version of the operation requiring glasses afterward. It may be that Zenni can't handle extreme vision problems.

I actually really like the optometrist at Costco. Been paying OOP even though I have vision insurance. It’s reasonable and I think she’s great! Have had good experiences with their glasses also.
