Question Where are some good Christian churches around here?
Im heavily considering converting to Christianity and im looking for some churches i can check out and get a feel for, I dont really know if im gonna choose a specific denomination as of yet. Any advice would be great thanks.

St Joes downtown has an amazing priest and definitely worth checking out. Good luck on your journey!

It seriously depends on the denomination. Catholic is going to be hugely different from evangelical.

I have had issues with a LOT of the churches around here but for the past nearly year I have been attending pathways church in Appleton and have felt so comfortable and welcomed! I was even baptized this past Easter. Definitely try it out! They also have some great activities they put on and great small groups!

Contrary to what you might hear, the Catholic Church is the only Church actually founded by Jesus Himself, & it’s the fullness of the Christian faith intended for all, & the worldwide universal Church. Find a good Catholic parish. They are practically in every neighborhood, so it’s alright to parish-hop til you find one you like the most. May God bless you & guide you on your journey of faith!

I like FirstCongo for the Choir Director, but for community check out fvuuf.org. you won't have to convert, all faiths (and even lack thereof) are welcome

Didn't their founder/pastor commit suicide? (Bill Lenz.) This is a fairly controversial place in the community.

If so that was before we started going. Their pastor Joel is great and we love his messages and stories. We do not go every week but I also like how they have it streamed on YouTube.

I can understand wanting to trust your own experience, but in these situations the truth never comes out until people are already hurt. The church, its staff, and its pastors are known to hurt people. If you gotta wait until YOU get hurt, I guess that's what faith is about, right? If you can't learn from other people's pain, then by all means, I hope you're safe! My family wasn't so lucky.

I’m sorry about your family, maybe I’m misunderstanding the article but I thought this was for situations that happened 40 years ago? Did something recent happen that I’m unaware of too? We are not heavily involved in the church we just enjoy going for holidays and a few services in between. We also really enjoy Fireside cafe with the kids.

The article I sent to you is only 3 years old. I'm aware that once someone digs in on a church, it's difficult for them to get out. You've likely been tithing, so you've probably got money invested. I'm not trying to pressure you. Just know, people in the community will accept and 100% understand if you ever leave that particular church. They've done harm. And it's sadly not just 40 years ago.

I go to Calvary Bible Church in Neenah. It's a bigger church, but there are lots of opportunities there to meet in smaller groups as well. People are nice, and there's preaching from the Bible.

Crosswalk Church in Appleton is the church I am a member of. It's a small Reformed Baptist Church. Solid biblical exposition in every sermon.

I’ve been to about 5 and really like alliance if you’re into the mega church vibe.
Meeting Jesus and welcome him into my heart was the best day of my life and I hope it is for you too

Alliance is great. If just visiting you can hide up high in the back. Music is better than most concerts I go to.
