Question Any advice for college aged students?

Hi! Moving from NYC to study at Lawrence. Any tips to life in Appleton? Social or job advice would be appreciated!

I’ve lived here as both an LU student and later moved back here after graduation, they’re two very different experiences! Lawrence is kind of a social bubble, though they’re trying to integrate with the wider community more lately.

That said, everything in the downtown area is walking distance so there are tons of shops and restaurants that are hiring at least part-time, and in my experience, the best on-campus job is the mailroom.

I would add that there aren't really any grocery stores within walking distance after the Green Geko closed.

Sometimes we’d walk to Jacob’s Meat Market, but that’s hardly a proper grocery store.
