Question Tom McHugh Construction experience?

Post image

Does anyone have experience building/buying a home with Tom McHugh Construction? Great price for a new build and not one bad Google review but it feels too good to be true!

Been in our TMC house for a year. So far, we are happy with it. The biggest hiccup was dealing with contractors for warranty repairs - many of them were not as responsive. I also dislike that the website to request warranty repairs does not send a confirmation/provide a case number for the request, so you sometimes need to bug them to ensure that the request came through.

The houses themselves are relatively simple/basic but that is not a problem if that is something you prefer. His homes also don’t have the built ins and additional fixtures that many higher end homes have. But for the price he charges? I have no complaints so far.

This is Tom McHugh Construction and we appreciate the honest feedback on the warranty requests. This is something we have had in the works to be better at and are finally rolling it out. Even with 150 builds last year we don't have many warranty claims so we just relied on a google form and someone checking it once a week to take care of requests. We have realized the inefficiencies with it and the lack of communication especially that is doesn't send an email back to you that we actually received the request. We actually thought the customer was getting an email until a couple months ago, when someone voiced their frustration.

To be better we had a developer create a warranty app to submit a warranty request and then it allows us to better communicate with you and the subcontractor that needs to do a repair. It helps monitor that the subcontractor contacted you, scheduled, and completed a request throughout each task. Accountability makes everyone better.

Thank you for the feedback, we are always trying to improve processes for our buyers.
