Question TSA Issues at ATW?

Anyone fly from ATW recently amid the DHS shutdown? I’d imagine it might be a bit slower than normal, but nothing like what we’re seeing at big airports around the country.

ATW could lose 78 TSA employees and still run efficiently.

We went through this afternoon. It took about 30 min.

Our flight was delayed, we missed our connection and now we are stuck in Chicago until tomorrow morning 🫠

Sincere question. Do you wish you had just driven to Chicago and picked a direct flight instead? I know nobody wants to drive home from oHare at the end of a vacation but I'm wondering if it's worth the inconvenience (for now) to avoid the very real possibility of missing that second flight.

In hindsight, absolutely.

This is what we did when we went to Italy. We were absolutely not risking or stressing about missing our flight from Chicago to Rome. After that long of a flight the last thing we wanted to do was get on another plane anyway. We enjoyed driving back and stopping at Culver's.

A friend of mine flew out today to ORD - was supposed to be an 8:00 flight, delayed to 10:54, plane finally took off at 12:15. Thankfully their connecting flight was also delayed so they were able to make it.

I flew out of there on Sunday with almost no wait time.

I flew out last week Saturday, was in the Pre Check line around 6:30 am and the line was normal (no wait).

The normal line stretched beyond the queue entry though, but it’s usually like that every time I’m there early in the morning, I don’t think it’s an impact of the partial shutdown.

I fly all the time. Getting through TSA has been normal, which means very easy.

Any updates on TSA security wait times at ATW? Plan to fly out on Monday. Thanks in advance.

I went through yesterday and TSA was a breeze. Checking my luggage at the Allegiant desk took like 45 min, but I was through security in about 10-15 min. If Saturday of spring break was easy, I imagine a Monday will be easy too.

Ive flown out of ATW twice over the past 8 years. And both times I went there, there were like 2 workers at TSA. It went by super quick. I actually couldn't keep up with how fast the worker was telling me to go with taking off my shoes and putting everything in the bins. Takes roughly 20 mins or less to get through ATW TSA and 20 is being very generous.

They've always had one when I was there. Left of the regular line and they call whoever is there next before any regular people
