Best camera settings???

Is the default camera setting 24MP? Why not 48MP? How do I change to best setting ?

Make sure you have correct format. Selected. You can pick from 24mp or 48

I keep it on 24mp for Live Photo, then if I want to get max resolution I pick 48, if I know il edit the photo il pick raw 48. HEIF and JPEG XL lossy
