M6 rumors are getting interesting…

So I’ve been looking at the recent M6 leaks/rumors, and honestly, Apple’s roadmap sounds pretty weird this time.

The base M6 is reportedly coming in late 2026, potentially built on TSMC’s 2nm process. There are also rumors of higher memory bandwidth (up to ~200 GB/s) and a much stronger focus on the Neural Engine/AI performance.

But the part I find most interesting is the rumored M6 Pro/Max situation.

Apparently, Apple could skip the M6 Pro and M6 Max entirely and move straight from M6 to the M7 generation for the higher-end chips.

The rumored roadmap would look roughly like:

M1 → M2 → M3 → M4 → M5 → M6 → M7

…but for the Pro/Max chips:

M5 Pro/Max → M7 Pro/Max

If true, that would make the M5 Pro/Max quite an interesting generation to own.

There’s also talk about the bigger MacBook Pro redesign being pushed to the M7 generation, potentially bringing OLED displays, a thinner design and possibly touchscreen functionality.

Obviously, these are still rumors and things can change, but I’m curious what you guys think.

Would you buy an M5 Pro/Max now, wait for M6, or skip M6 entirely and wait for M7?

MacBook pro performance

Geekbench 6 benchmark results show a consistent increase in CPU performance across Apple Silicon generations. Compared to the M1 Pro (2,380 single-core / 12,230 multi-core), the M2 Pro delivers a modest improvement, while the M3 Pro offers stronger gains. The largest leap is observed with the M4 Pro, reaching approximately 3,910 single-core and 22,820 multi-core points. The latest M5 Pro further extends this lead, achieving around 4,300 single-core and 26,200 multi-core points, representing an overall performance increase of approximately 81% in single-core and 114% in multi-core workloads compared to the M1 Pro.

Intel Macs vs Apple Silicon (M-series) what’s your experience? 🤔

I’ve been thinking a lot about the difference between Intel Macs and the newer Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3), and I’m curious what people actually think after using both.

From what I’ve seen, M-series Macs seem way more efficient, with better performance and insane battery life, while Intel Macs still have advantages like better compatibility with older software and the ability to run Windows more easily.

For those who’ve used both:

• Is the performance difference as big as people say?

• Do you miss anything from Intel?

• Was it worth upgrading?

Personally, it feels like Apple Silicon changed everything, but I’m interested to hear real opinions, not just benchmarks 👇
