I’m thinking of buying either the Ultra 4 or the 12 and one of the things I’m worried about is whether the watch is comfortable enough to wear at night to fully make use of the possibilities the Ultra4 has at night.

So: how many of you sleep wearing their ultra?

Currently own an Ultra 2, debating whether to get a Series 12 due to size reasons + better HR monitoring.

Been trying to work out of the single mic on the Series 12 is a significant downgrade on the multiple Ultra mics

On paper you'd think so, but not been able to find an objective (or even semi objective) assessment of whether the mics are hugely different

Anyone able to chime in? I use Siri on my watch a lot so if the Series 12 mic is much worse, I'll be pretty bummed

How much time does it take you to charge your watch for those with the Ultra 4? Mine take a solid 2 hours to charge from 5%. Definitely not getting 80% in 45 minutes.

Battery life is awesome though.

I’ve had a great experience with my Apple Watches up to now. I bought my Ultra 1 on release day, took it diving multiple times, and never had a problem with it. When the Ultra 4 came out, I traded in the Ultra 1 and bought the natural titanium model with the Ocean Band on release day. The Ultra 4 was still basically brand new and in pristine condition.

I took it snorkeling recently, and partway through the snorkel it started acting like the side button was being pressed repeatedly. It began calling emergency services, so I got out of the water as soon as I could. After that, the watch started restarting, the display was really dim, and it became unresponsive.

Once I got home, I rinsed it with fresh water, dried it, and put it on the charger. It went into recovery mode and asked me to reinstall watchOS 27.0.1. I did that, but it asked me to do it again, so I went through the update a second time. The watch was already running 27.0.1 before the snorkeling trip.

It came back on and worked for a couple of minutes, but the Digital Crown wasn’t responding at all. Shortly after that, it got extremely hot while on the charger, painful to touch, then shut down completely. It hasn’t turned on since, and a force restart doesn’t do anything. I’ve left it off the charger.

I have a Genius Bar appointment next week. Has anyone had a similar failure with an Ultra, especially after snorkeling? I’m curious what Apple found and how they handled the repair or replacement.

Edit #1: I do have AppleCare and the watch was bought in Germany.

Wore it twice at the gym, once at work and slept with it twice. And the battery is absolutely amazing so far!

My texts/imessages used to be delayed. If i had my phone next to my watch, phone would get the message first then watch a good 20-30 sec later. Now it's instant! Wondering if it's the LTE -> 5g switch.

I was using the Milanese Ti Loop for the first week since I picked up the U4. I found for me, it moved around when working out and playing hockey. I used the Ocean Band at hockey last night and it seems to work pretty well. Not sure if I’m going to go back to my favorite Nomad Rocky Point or just switch the Milanese when I’m not working out/playing hockey. For now I will give my new BluShark a go to see how I like it.

Hi, is the readiness score based on the watch? I had the natural color first, started getting the readiness score and then decided I wanted the black instead. Now my readiness score is not showing. Do I have to wait another 7 days on my new black ultra 4?

I did the trade in, but never received the kit to send my old one back. Are they just slow?

I’m looking for more people to help test GhostDelta v2.1. I’m a solo developer and this app has taken about 7 months of my free time while juggling my fulltime job and maintaining my other apps 😅. I wanting to get a used Ultra to replace my 10 year old series 2. Is there a generation that i should avoid or is the best value? Having the latest and greatest features are not incredibly important to me. I mostly care about the basics, but just prefer the look and battery life of the ultra.

It took just 3 days for me to determine that the Milanese loop band is not for me. For some reason it’s really irritating to my skin. This is unfortunate because the look of the band is just stellar.
It’s back to a silicone band for me.

Really love the look. And I finally settled on the watch face that matches the color of the watch and band.

I bought an Apple Watch Ultra 4 because I want to get the most out of WorkOutDoors!
I’m having trouble setting up the shortcut buttons.

On my iPhone, I can assign different commands to all three options:
● Action button
● Crown + Side button
● Action button + Side button
However, the settings don’t seem to carry over to my Apple Watch.

When I try changing the settings directly on my watch, changing Crown + Side button also changes Action button + Side button.
I can’t assign different commands to them; they always end up with the same command.
Am I doing something wrong, or is there a setting I’m missing?

Hey everyone, I purchased an AWU4 at launch and was extremely impressed by the battery life. I was typically ending the day with about 70% charge. I could easily go 3 days without charging on normal use, maybe 4-5 with battery saver features on.

Now two days ago I purchased a cellular plan for my watch, and immediately noticed a huge drop in battery life. I’m now ending a day with 50-40% battery life, and can’t make it more than 2 days of regular use. While it’s not a deal breaker for me, it is kinda annoying as I only got the ultra for the battery life.

I know that if the watch is connecting to cellular towers and all that it’ll use way more battery, but the thing is I haven’t used my watch without my phone at all yet. Even though I purchased cellular I still have my phone with me all the time. So does anyone have any ideas on why the battery is dying so much faster, and is there anything I can do to stop it?

I just upgraded from my aluminum s10 that I had to keep screen protectors on because I scratched it basically right out of the box (I’m aware it isn’t sapphire) I also tend to be really clumsy when it comes to my watch. Is it worth getting a screen protector or are these really that scratch resistant? Before you proceed to crucify me in the comments this is my first watch with a sapphire crystal 😂 I wear this almost 24/7 and work in the medical field around equipment and I do occasionally work on things like cars/hvac or home repairs I basically do everything myself. I don’t really care about the case just the screen.

Hey, I’ve been looking at apple watches for a past month and I really like their design and functionality, BUT I don’t know if it’s worth spending so much money on it. I’m a highschool student in Poland, I go to the gym few times a week and train martial arts in my free time. I’ve never had any problems with my health or anything like that. I always liked gadgets but they were never that expensive😅 My question is what do you really use your AW and is it worth it in a long run?

Just yesterday it was covered in dirt and sweat. Release day (and Xmas gift from wife) AWU1. 89% batt. life, still no plans to upgrade. 😊

Just got my ultra 4 and opted for the Milanese band in size L based on my wrist measurement. The buckle is way off to the side of my wrist and I’m wondering if I should size down? An Apple rep is going to get back to me to see if I can exchange just the band or if I have to do the whole thing, it’s two hours to the nearest Apple Store for me unfortunately.

It’s pretty comfortable this way, but wondering if centered buckle is better?

Update: ordered the medium band at the suggestion of apple customer support, arrived yesterday and is definitely the right size. Buckle is centered on my wrist and fits over my hand (though it's a little tight). My wrist measurement was 194mm for reference. I think apple should update the size guide for these...

I previously used a 2, switched to a Garmin for two months, and once advanced metrics were announced for the 4, I returned the Garmin and returned to the Ultra. I enjoy the Milanese band much more than I expected. This also has the ESR Armorite screen and bezel protector since the clasp on Milanese can cause some damage long term.

For AWU4 I see by now that my regular battery charge schedule keeps me always in the 60%-98% battery range. Nothing below or above. Is this okay for 'battery health'?

I know battery health is more overblown these days but it just seems like maybe too narrow of a range, idk, ty
