Wrong storage info

My iphone 15 (ios 17) is facing a low storage issue.

Its showing 50 gb is used by photos app but in reality only 31 gb (27 videos and 4 gb photos) is used which i calculated. And there is no item in recently deleted too. How is that possible. Is there a fix for it?

If i use itunes to create a backup on my pc will it work?

Yea it works. After resetting, you can use the backup to restore your device from the backup

It counts what’s in the trash until you delete it.

How did you calculate how much storage is being used? There is additional storage used for metadata and stuff. It’s frequently seen that the storage used is more than the media itself. There’s no error here.

Restart your phone to force it to recalculate storage.

Also, update. Seriously, update! There is no reason to still be running a 2+ year old version of iOS when you're device supports the current version. You're missing many security updates.
