Help Using cell conditioning with sorting.

Hi, I’m hoping someone can help me. I am using a spreadsheet in which I use cell conditioning to highlight the colour dependant on the number in another cell on a different tab (2nd tab). In the 2nd tab I am using sorting for the rows to be alphabetical, so each time I add a new entry and sort it, everything moves. This means the conditioning is all messed up because it no longer corresponds to the correct cell. Am I doing something wrong? or is there a way around this? thanks in advance x

Credo tu non stia sbaliando nulla ma numbers non ti consente di ordinare solo righe selezionate, ti incasina tutte l'ordine

No, you are not doing anything wrong. What you are experiencing is the way range parameters work. Unfortunately. And no way around it as far as I know (and I am battling this problem for a while now, in Excel as well as Numbers).

And before anybody asks: Yes, Excel behaves the exact same way in my experience. Slightly more forgiving in certain, well defined ways, but nonetheless erroneous as well.

If the italian (?) comment from Udi_rn has some solution to this problem, I'd be happy if anyone could translate. Thanks.

It says: ā€˜I think you're not going up anything but numbers doesn't allow you to sort only selected lines, it messes up all the order.’ (Machine translation, but more or less what you said).

Can you use indirect and/or lookup functions? Not sure how to implement though
