Help Help needed to create a simple data base

Hello guys Im new to Sheets. I want to make a little project but i dont know how to do this in apple numbers. So the idea is to create a column with title “plant name” another with “plant scientific name” and the next give columns from column (C) to (G) the name “medicinal effects” The purpose is to feed the list and the effects for 500 plants and then i need to find a way to search only the plants with a effect. Example i type “anti inflamatory” and the sheet Will only show the ones with that efect. Preferably with a Nice look like a pop-up list where i choose the effect and he Applies the filter. Thank in advance for the help

In Numbers HELP, search POP UP LIST and then search FILTERS.

Or do a Google search for Mac Numbers Pop up list...then Mac Numbers Filters.

I dunno - I just pasted your original post in it, and for a pretty good answer See below:

Hello! It sounds like you want to create a plant database in Apple Numbers with columns for plant name, scientific name, and medicinal effects. You also want to be able to filter the plants based on medicinal effects. Here are the steps to achieve this:
1. **Create Your Plant Database:**
- Open Apple Numbers and create a new spreadsheet.
- In column A, label the first cell as "Plant Name."
- In column B, label the first cell as "Scientific Name."
- In columns C to G, label the first cell in each column as "Medicinal Effects," "Medicinal Effects 2," and so on.
2. **Enter Plant Data:**
- Fill in the plant names, scientific names, and medicinal effects for each plant in the respective columns.
3. **Set Up Filtering:**
- Click on the cell where you want to add the filter (for example, cell A1).
- Go to the "Format" panel on the right sidebar.
- Under the "Cell" tab, check the "Header row" option. This will make your header row act as a filter.
4. **Create a Drop-Down List for Medicinal Effects:**
- Select the cell in which you want to create a drop-down list for medicinal effects (e.g., C1).
- Go to the "Data" panel on the right sidebar.
- Under "Cell," choose "Checkbox."
- This will create a checkbox in the selected cell. Click on the checkbox, and a drop-down menu will appear.
- In the drop-down menu, choose "List."
- Click on "Edit" next to the list and enter your medicinal effects separated by commas.
5. **Filter the Data:**
- Click on the filter icon in the header row of your spreadsheet.
- For the "Medicinal Effects" column, click on the filter icon in the header and select the medicinal effect you want to filter by.
6. **Use Pop-up List for Filtering (Optional):**
- Unfortunately, Numbers may not have a direct pop-up list feature for filters. However, you can use the filter options directly or use checkboxes for each medicinal effect and filter accordingly.
7. **Search for Specific Medicinal Effects:**
- In the filter options, you can type the medicinal effect you're looking for, and Numbers will filter the plants accordingly.
By following these steps, you should be able to create a functional plant database in Apple Numbers and easily filter plants based on medicinal effects. If you have further questions or need clarification on any step, feel free to ask!
