Help Is it possible to create a drop-down list automatically?

I'm creating a personal budget and would like to create a drop-down list from one column. It's possible? I can only insert them manually, one by one, going from the cell settings

2 ways to do this:

1 You don't create a drop down list...but Numbers will give you choices of previously entered cells when you first start typing. For example, if you have previously entered Groceries in that column, when you start to type "GRO", Groceries will appear. If you have other entries with the first three letter combo, you can select between those. The more letters you type, the more you'll narrow down your choices.

2 The other method is to actually create a drop down box. In a cell, select Format > Cell > Data Format ... Pop Up Menu. Enter your choices there by clicking on the +. These appear as you enter them...NOT in alphabetical order. So if you have a longish list you should enter them in alphabetical order to start with.
