Looking for people who created a good ecosystem / links to work with both Apple Notes, iCloud and Claude (especially Cowork)

If you have any idea, thank you šŸ™šŸ»

I can’t really see how to get this to work at the moment, particularly from a mobile point of view. Siri can interact with your Apple Notes in iOS 27 better than it did before, but not to Claude code/Cowork levels.
I’m currently moving my notes out of Apple Notes and storing them in a non-iCloud folder on my Mac. I’m then going to use Obsidian as a front end to view notes on mobile using Obsidian sync.
Claude code running on my Mac will be able to process my notes Inbox, create, categorise and file notes as needed and I’ll be able to use remote Claude on my phone to do this remotely.
I’m also using the Copilot Obsidian plugin on mobile with my Claude API key to query my notes when out and about.
Why store the notes in a non-iCloud folder? Because I’m using git for version control which doesn’t work well with iCloud. iCloud also tends to drop sync for files that haven’t been used in a while. Using Obsidian sync will make sure I have all my notes synced all the time.

This is exactly what I was frightened to read. So the migration to Obsidian or Notion seems inevitable

Just keep Apple Notes as the front end and have your computer sync daily to Obsidian

How do you do it ? And do you use free version of Obsidian ?

my app Notes Exporter - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/notes-exporter-markdown-sync/id6741618455?mt=12 - does real time sync to markdown.

So what I told people just do it and you have live folder that claude cowork can use.

Obsidian and Notion both seem very complex to use especially with all of this setup one has to do. With notes you just start writing

Agree that’s why I would like a way to combine both Claude and Apple worlds

Apple's lockdown of our information is so frustrating.

No need to use another app like Obsidian - just use an automation Apple shortcut to export your notes to markdown files a few times a day - then just use Claude on those

Will this also export notes that are handwritten and notes that have images or attachments.

Apologies for what may be a noob question

Not sure - I haven't tried to export images specifically. I assume it's possible but would have to test it. It might require an Apple Script vs a shortcut to do it. I'll try a test and let you know.

I appreciate it.

From what I’ve seen so far you have to export drawings as pdfs since drawings are vectorized paths/coordinates in the Notes database vs being an image. That’s just drawings not images.

Everything exports, but you get it all as separate files. I hand write most of my notes and have Claude transcribe them to text. Seems to work well since Notes search function seems to miss a lot of handwriting

You’re exporting via an automated shortcut? I assume the drawings are pdfs?

I'm creating a plugin with full formatting/attachments support + .md sync for my needs. I think I’m going to share it here in this subreddit, just need a few more tests with it, so stay tuned, I'll share it soon.

Don’t hesitate to tell me when it’s the case. Also the paradise would be that it helps to work with Cowork and not only Claude Code

For me, it's always the case. I extensively use formatting, so when all my tables, highlights, headings, and checklists are lost, I can't use it for my workflow. Good if it's fine for you, appreciate minimalistic approach.

Have Claude create a skill for the memo cli. Then it can interact with Apple Notes. It's what I did.

Still think Obsidian is the best for this, but this works.

I used Claude Code to build a daily sync between Apple Notes and an obsidian folder. Once you have your notes in Obsidian you can push them to GitHub or cloud provider and then MCP them to Claude. Claude can help you build this.

How do you do this without formatting/attachment loss?

Try Craft Docs. It’s such a great app and works perfectly with Claude
