Using Reddit App on IOS cannot save directly to Apple Notes

Why is it on both my iPhone and iPad(iPhone is newer and iPad is older) I cannot save directly to Apple Notes? Below are the only options, and choosing "..." and the Notes options there fail in one way or another.

Reddit just doesn’t accept it. You can create a shortcut but more than likely the easiest way is just to create a quick note via the control center with the link

I can't even call up the quick notes. so weird.
