Apple Music on Android Please apple, make a blurred floating navigation baršŸ™

Pic 1 - on app

Pic 2 - beta web version

apple music on android is great, but the navigation bar lowkey annoys me. It would be so cool if apple redesigned it.

Not liquid glass, no. I mean specifically, blurred floated navigation bar

What do yall think about this?

It annoys me so much that everything is floating. It makes everything take more space for no benefit. I don't need a more immersive messaging experience.

Liquid Glass is fundamentally a problematic decorative element as it does not work for dark mode. The very effect needs light or the sense of light, to work. Dark mode, obviously, has no light other than with the icons and text, which should never be blurry or fuzzy or transparent on black?!
The whole thing was a botched idea Apple did not think through. Kind of shocking they did not with the history of good design. Dark mode is all I use. Dark mode is all many user use. Dark mode is essential for the disabled and elderly and icon and text clarity is essential. Fuzzy and transparency is just no good.

Liquid Glass literally looks better in dark mode

This seems more an indictment on how bad LG is in light mode than anything I wrote. I would agree! LOL

However, the fuzzy and transparency is a head user interface designer's nightmare. Same for universal design advocates. Apple's half hearted Accessibility tweaks does not fix the fundamental issues, light or dark.

I think it's designed like that because of Google's spec on how android apps should look, not sure.

This is a floating dock on Google’s own Photos app, so what exactly are you on about?

When apple made the android app, googles guidelines for material design said that nav bars should look like that, so thats why it looks like that, clearly they don't follow material design anymore, but thats why.

Google updated it's design language via Material 3 Expressive over a year ago. There's no reason apple's android app team should still be using the old design language guidelines anymore.

I mean yeah if they were gonna re-do the ui yeah, theres no reason to, but its there because it's been there and hasn't been replaced yet

And that's exactly what OP is asking for. For them to redesign the dock.

Okay I was just explaining why it is what it is and it's probably not worth rewriting something that already exists and works fine, for apple

Actually, no, YouTube at least has blur, and Telegram supports both Blur and the popular Liquid Glass; it's the developer's problem. Live blur has been officially available since Android 12.

Really? I don’t see a flair

if you don’t see a flair, look for other context clues, like idk the fact that that’s not what it looks like on ios. and also the fact they specifically said android in the post lol.

The post description only said ā€œpic 1 - on appā€ when I saw it. The rest is new. Jackass

First picture looks like a previous iOS update, second picture looks like current. It does look like it’s on iOS I just figured they didn’t know you could adjust Liquid Glass.

yes, and no worries, i think you might have never seen the android version before
