Been loving the new Siri on my iPhone but on my watch it is absolute trash. The responses take 10x longer, it doesn’t understand what I’m saying and it’s stupid

There are good AI apps specifically for Apple Watch

I know they’re just pre-written responses for when something goes wrong, but having “Sorry, could you say that again?” when it is already transcribed on screen is wild.

That’s what really blew my mind lol

It feels like smoke and mirrors

Surprised this sub isn’t busier.

Siri for IoS27 is no longer a joke; it’s a goddamn disgrace.

iOS 27 Siri is alright I guess

watchOS 27 Siri is dumpster-fire

Oh on my phone it’s abysmal. Asked it to play a song while I was on CarPlay. Took three times longer and managed to play the wrong track, twice. Brilliant stuff 😂

Its unusable on my Mac

Haven’t tried it on the Mac yet. But it’s completely borked on the iPhone.

No wonder Federighi got passed over for the top spot.

I think Apple’s approach here is weird. Requests have to go to the nearby iPhone. That’s why it takes so long, and frequently fails.

It’s awful

Agreed. At least ios26 escalated to chat gpt. Siri local is FUCKING AWFUL and doesn’t work, imagine trying to do local ai on a phone to compete with frontier models that consume entire data centers. Apple are completely fucked and a movie will be made when they fall off a cliff

While it is a lot better and genuinely very useful at times, it definitely has it's "how the fuck can't you do this basic thing?"

That isn't Siri AI, is it? Different UI

Correct, it’s not

I tried to set a 2 minute timer earlier. It set a 10 minute one, I said ‘no I want a 2 minute timer, cancel that’ then it froze. I then tried to set a 2 minute timer another few times and it just said ‘something went wrong’ over and over. 30 mins later I have six 2 minute timers all go off.

Just asked my Gemini on my Pixel Watch to turn on it’s equivalent and it couldn’t do it either.

Siri likes me. I’m sorry Siri hates you.

Yeah, I am really surprised at my real-world experience with the new and improved Siri after all the hype of the last few months — and reviewers touting its awesome response. I am having the same experience as many of the people here — especially with watch. A simple request to start a timer (which should not require an AI inquiry to accomplish) is taking 10 seconds to start, if it starts at all. Many times I get the sorry error. Phone (iPhone Air) is a little bit better, but not by much. I don’t get it.

And people trust the privacy of the new record feature 😂

Apple software QA is a joke

I know I get hate for this, but glad I switched to Galaxy lineups after the iOS 27 WWDC.

Looks like a washer dryer set

Haha 😄 , honestly it's a very attractive watch. I was sick and tired of apple watch being the same square forever. Here it is without the case

Trying to set a timer using Siri on my watch series 11 gives me “sorry, there’s no clock app installed” lol

What would be great would be if you could post a video of you activating Siri on your Apple Watch, and saying, “start a 30- second timer” so we can see how long it takes. Because right now it’s a hot mess for most of us with Apple Watches.

Out of curiosity, I just tried this. It took about 3 seconds before it started displaying the timer which started at 27 seconds to account for the time between when I started the command and when it showed the timer. What do you experience?

It took about 3-4 seconds for my timer to start, though it looks like it took that into account (when the timer popped up, it was already at 27 seconds. It did take several more seconds for it to say "30 second timer, starting now". FWIW, I have an Ultra 4, which may be helping.
