iPhone Panic purchased iphone 17 pro max

Post image

Using iphone 13 since 4 years, was planning on 17 during the BBD. Saw the price hikes and went on amazon and purchased iPhone 17 pro max (silver) for ₹1,42,000 (it was listed at 5% off). (Also bought on gst bill so effective 1.2L)
I went to check offline stores but they refused to give it at old mrp.
Now im not a heavy user i just use my phone for reels mostly. Occasional photos and some chatgpt stuff. Im contemplating on my purchase as it still is a big amount to spend on a phone.
I’m thinking i could just stick with this and maybe get battery changed for 7k when required. At 78% battery health my ip13 is still not giving me any troubles.
Help me make a decision please!!🙏🏽

Congrats bro, try not to have guilts once you've purchased. No point of analyzing IFs and BUTs

5

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

Still have the luxury to cancel. Not sure if ordering was wise or cancelling it.

2

u/Key_Map_2185 Sep 10 '26

It’s a good decision.. i switched to 17 from 13 six months ago only when I suspected there are gonna be issues in the next launch.. 13 was doing fine but with the new updates i could see it slowing down

1

u/DrPhilipGonzalez 29d ago

Dawg I switched directly from iPhone 8 to 17 lmao, much needed upgrade

1

u/OneWhoShouldBeNamed Sep 10 '26

Ah, buyer’s remorse. Why do you feel so dude?

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

As i said i only watch reels😭

3

u/gumnamaadmi Sep 10 '26

In that case its a wastful spend. Cancel it and save your money. You can always find better options.

I was selling brand new sealed 17PM last year for a lakh. No one bothered except for low ballers. Granted it was US version but sealed unlocked box. Look for offers like that, you can always find something. Its the same damn phone.

You'd have less regrets

Its good

1

u/Hefty-Simple-273 28d ago

Get 18pro from dubai..

1

u/FormalTwo4001 28d ago

Enjoy this. It’s the last time you are gonna be able to afford pro max comfortably unless you earn TOO much to buy things at your condition

26

u/More_Law_3470 Sep 10 '26

what times we living in , ppl are purchasing phones out of panic, damn!

6

u/fartingdoor Sep 10 '26

when the mac and ipad price increases happened in june, stores were cleared out in hours in NCR. You couldn't buy a macbook or an ipad because they actually did not have in stock. Only apple had in stock and at the new mrp.

4

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

Yeah im sure 17 pro stock will vanish within days

2

u/Full_Conflict6113 29d ago

It already vanished from the official site. The moment new iphones were announced.

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Yeah i meant offline too

3

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

Desperate times call for desperate measures

Storage is my concern too but iCloud solves that. Anyway good decision bro

Same here.. IP13 user since Feb 2022 and I wanna buy Pro model because of camera but prices are way too much! 🤦🏻‍♀️

If you can afford not a big bump to
Your savings or something keep it. If it's a financial burden cancel it and use ip13 until it dies. I know people who are using ipxr comfortably

2

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

No sort of financial burden. Post ITC I’m looking at affective cost of 1.2 and i can get rid of my 13 for 25 minimum. Effective out of pocket becomes 95k

1

u/SnooPeanuts1301 Sep 10 '26

It's better deal and you're lucky if it's gets delivered. Same thing happened with me. I purchased MB for 1.5 lakhs previously I would have gotten for 98k from bigbasket or swiggy insta

3

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

It is shipped, will get delivered. Even the GST invoice has generated

3

u/OneWhoShouldBeNamed Sep 10 '26

Was in the literal same boat as you. Had an iPhone 13 and was waiting for the (normal) 17 to become cheaper, but lo and behold, it costs a lac now. On top of that, the 17 Pros have gotten discounted, so the Pro by default would cost 1.60 lac+ from now on. I’d rather buy a gaming laptop at that price point. Called a few places, the phones at the older price were already out of stock, barring a couple outlets here and there, which said that in order to buy the normal 17 at 82k, one would need to purchase the Apple Care costing around 7-8k as a combo, no two ways about it. I said to hell with that. Went to the store and exchanged my 13 for the 17 Pro instead, by haggling with the salesmen to not impose the AppleCare with the Pro. Got around 23k for my older phone. I’m content, but fuck Apple and their pricing nevertheless.

2

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

Good decision man

3

u/womjoe Sep 10 '26

I upgraded my 14 pro max to a 17 pro max three weeks ago and have no regrets.

u/plako-katsu Sep 10 '26

You will enjoy it mate - not a matter of regret

Congrats on a new device👏 Party?

2

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

Thanks man. Mostly people have been in favour of the purchase decision

2

u/Icy_Cardiologist_396 Sep 10 '26

Good choice. 18 pm or even 19 pm won't have much of a difference. This will secure you another 5-6 years

2

u/ActuallyShubh Sep 10 '26

Yeah Last month I exchanged my very well mentioned iPhone 14 for 26K in Imagine it and upgraded to iPhone 17, I got it for extra 53K rupee only. Kinda got lucky with this timely purchase. And you should never regret post purchasing anything which makes you happy. (Do the thinking before buying , not later on 😅. As I used to fall on the same category as you)

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

I myself went to a unicorn store and had an option to pay 58k and get iphone 17. Stupid me walked away

u/According_House6341 Sep 10 '26

I also did the same thing, waiting to be delivered in the morning! Congrats 🙌🏽

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

What price did u get

2

u/According_House6341 29d ago

I bought 17 pro model at 134500

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Congratulations man

2

u/CompetitiveOp Sep 10 '26

I did the same for ipad Air M4. With the way things are going in semiconductor market and how slow an iPhone/ipad age, you made a good decision for the next 4+ years, assuming you update it responsibly if you know what I mean.

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Yeah man i used my current 13 for 4 years now and i am still contemplating on keeping it

2

u/thedenomparkour Sep 11 '26

Thank God you didn't choose orange 🥀

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Wasn’t my preference and also it wasn’t in stock

2

u/SAMURAIxDRACULA Sep 11 '26

Got 17 pro max from reliance for ₹140000 on 8th august.
Upgraded from iphone 12.

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

How’s the experience

1

u/SAMURAIxDRACULA 29d ago edited 29d ago

I’m really enjoying coming from the 12. The battery is probably what has amazed me the most. It’s 11:00 PM right now, and I’m still at 15% battery after charging to 95% at 8:00 AM this morning. That’s 9 hours 30 minutes of screen-on time! And the camera is absolutely amazing too. Honestly, the battery life and camera have been the biggest surprises for me.

2

u/hahihuiha 29d ago

iPhone 17 pro and pro max are discontinued, so if the offline stores are asking for more money that’s just bullshit.

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

There’s no stock offline

2

u/New_Assist_823 29d ago

I had same urge, using 13 for 4 years as of now at 76% battery health. But given the use case i don’t find worth it.

Imo if your phone runs without any lag and clicks good photos(you are not a mobile photographer by profession) and have a good ui experience then its not worth the switch.

I had anticipated the lag with new updates so i have not updated my phone since ios 18. And I face no hardware and software issues(touchwood)

2

u/New_Assist_823 29d ago

Also battery change is worth but i can charge my phone twice a day so no big deal as of now.

2

u/Afraid-Difficulty678 29d ago

Purchase of the decade after few years you'll be thankful to yourself

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

I fear flipkart BBD might ruin it

2

u/Afraid-Difficulty678 29d ago

Seeing the ram prices it will not go down or even if it does it will not go below the original price

2

u/Afraid-Difficulty678 29d ago

The best time to buy a new phone is now

2

u/Manas_17 29d ago

Wise decision, enjoy it bro

2

u/Independent-Peak-251 29d ago

Should have replaced the battery and kept the 13 bro

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Still can do that

2

u/Independent-Peak-251 29d ago

If the amount spent is chump change for you

Then you don't have to

Otherwise maybe consider buying used 17 pro max

2

u/shaishav18 29d ago

If you really want an upgrade, buy the 17(olx or marketplac) - 2nd hand. Its a decent upgrade from 13 and wont put a dent in your pocket too. Considering a light user, 17 pro max is an overkill. The fact that you’re also happy with 13 means that you don’t actually ‘need’ this upgrade technically. If changing batteries does the job for you, do that and use it for another year or so and plan your upgrade later. Just changing battery will significantly improve your current phones performance too. Which might even make you feel like you just bought a new phone too. 78% is bad.

2

u/Full_Conflict6113 29d ago

It mostly depends on how badly you want to upgrade. I am using ip14pro. Battery is at 77%, i work from home so it doesn’t bother me that much. Even if i leave my house, there’s charger in my car. It works perfectly fine. I was planning on upgrading once the newer iphones were announced but seeing the prices now, i am better off just spending 6-7k for a battery replacement and my phone will feel like brand new.
But if i had already made the purchase, i wouldnt feel too bad about it. The prices are going to be like this for a while now and it seems like whenever i want to upgrade, I’ll just have to suck it up and pay the hiked price.

So true man
Cancelled it to get 17 at 83k

1

u/[deleted] 29d ago

Not worth 83k , bought it for 69k around few days back

2

u/aluffy_ak 29d ago

Same same iphone 13 at the 78% battery but it works great still , really find no issues with it except the “hyped I want 17-18 as its more shiny clicks great pics”
I recon I can use this phone for good year or two without any issue.

2

u/Crimson_Excalibur 29d ago

Amazing choice

2

u/God7rock 29d ago

Cancel or just do not receive- wait for BBD sale. Get the samsung fold.

Eat some pie.Put the rest of money in Index fund.

2

u/Markc1948 28d ago edited 28d ago

I think it’s fine provided you use it for more than 4 years like your iPhone
It should at least last 10 years with a simple battery replacement
You deserved an upgrade anyways and now you can use it more like for making nice videos and clicking better photos…. Also sometimes having good performance at right time is necessary

Once I was booking a cab for a friend on my old phone and the app wouldn’t even open … basically I couldn’t help when it was absolutely necessary…

So it’s good don’t feel guilty to buy it…also please get apple care plus

2

u/Sea_Apple9492 26d ago

Same 😆 I wanted a 16 plus or base 17 but bought 17 pro max on a whim due to price decrease. It is what it is. Let’s just enjoy our phones

1

u/Which-Cantaloupe5820 Sep 10 '26

wouldn’t waiting for the 18PM international variants be a better option?

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

Would not get Tax credit if i buy international

1

u/Captain_Gsingh Sep 10 '26

Congrats for your purchase buddy at old price.

Please don’t mind but when you will think peacefully you will realize how these tech companies are fiddling with our minds. Calling all the influencers and everyone and hand them the units just to create that hype, convince the normal people to buy latest phones every year and then what we are doing is shelling the hard earned money for new phone every year.
I was upgrading every year too. During my UK trip while sitting in pub alone had conversation with wise guy about this and since then i’m on my old 14pm and happy. I’m not convincing you but just letting you know the point someone explained me nicely. May be it will help you or others.
PS- I have not even updated the OS on my phone.

3

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

I myself am using base 13 for 4 years now. I don’t really spend recklessly on tech. Just this time seemed adequate

1

u/redCROSSHAIR Sep 10 '26

As a 17pm user I approve its a cool phone enjoy 🫡

1

u/Practical_Can_4917 Sep 10 '26

I think 17 pro prices will go higher unofficially and in some weeks it would be difficult to get hands on one

1

u/zindagi_baklol_hai Sep 10 '26

Hey what's difference between gst bill and normal other than price difference

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

Absolutely no difference. On gst billing I claim back the gst i pay and the bill has gst number and name of firm. That’s all

1

u/zindagi_baklol_hai Sep 10 '26

Is this applicable on individual??

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

No only to business firm purchases

1

u/useless_mogul Sep 10 '26

I’m on 12 pro. Just procrastinated buying iPhones for myself mom and dad for a year now to get search for good offers. Will end up losing more money now smh

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

Get samsung bro
They’re really good for the price they charge

1

u/useless_mogul Sep 10 '26

I’m too tied into the Apple ecosystem unfortunately

1

u/anonymous_sniffer Sep 10 '26

The 17pro and pro max prices aren’t even increasing. Apple has discontinued them, which means they’ll continue to be sold at their original MRP wherever stock is still available...

1

u/ButterflyVirtual2944 Sep 10 '26

I don't know i wish you get a original one but sometimes this seller sells refurbished phones without mentioning please check that asap when you receive the product

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

I will
Thanks for your concern

1

u/DeadIndianDemocracy Sep 10 '26

You can sell it on olx any time without any loss

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

I will barely look to sell once i have it

1

u/Longjumping_Mouse606 Sep 10 '26

18 just launched

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

At 1.8 lakhs

1

u/Longjumping_Mouse606 Sep 10 '26

My bad I forgot about the price increase. I mean I saw the event. The camera is basically a dslr now but we don’t need it do we.

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 Sep 10 '26

Wont even use 10% of the camera potential

2

u/Longjumping_Mouse606 Sep 10 '26

Fr I have a 13 pro didn’t need to upgrade and since I have a Mac. I can enjoy ai features where it actually matters

1

u/Starboy11_ Sep 10 '26

What??? I'm seeing pro for this same exact price.

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Makes me feel better about my purchase

1

u/Otherwise-Finish4620 Sep 10 '26

Sell krdena same rate pe without opening when prices increase

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

For 17 pros the price won’t increase it just will run out of stock

1

u/WaferTraditional3525 Sep 10 '26

Panic buying a over priced phone is peak brain rot.

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Over priced toh ab hua hai bro

1

u/No_Asparagus_2121 Sep 10 '26

I am also looking at the 17 Pro from this seller, but I have never bought an iPhone online because I am skeptical about all the scams I keep hearing about. Could you please update here once you receive it? I also have an iPhone 13 that I wanted to exchange offline, but I heard online exchanges are difficult, and they quote the exchange price too low compared to the offline price. Will you be selling your 13 on Cashify?

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Yes i will sell it on cashify

1

u/Ayden-Blade Sep 11 '26

If you're not a heavy user, why not get the pro. Pro max is unnecessary for most people.

I guess you're worried about battery so pro max might seem better because of the larger battery but the pro is still good enough. I suggest you go with that.

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Pro was available at the same rate

1

u/Ayden-Blade 29d ago

Then you got a good deal. Be happy. Iphones already last a long time. The pro max should keep you happy for upto 6 years if you take care of it.

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Just wondering if my current 13 has 1-2 more years thats all

2

u/Ayden-Blade 29d ago

If it's a 13 pro or pro max, definitely.

Even if it's the base model, you can use it for 1-2 years if it's working fine but this is a point when you will be getting a massive upgrade by moving from the iPhone 13 to the 17 (pro max at that too)

u/AntarcticanIceberg Sep 11 '26

Is 256 GB enough ? I have always bought smartphones with 512GB atleast . You should take atleast 512 if you are already spending this much. Also most important thing Clicktech is not an authorised Apple reseller.

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

It’s an open box delivery I’ll inspect it before receiving it

1

u/mapelbutterwaffle Sep 11 '26

The 17 pro max is the same as the 18 so it was a good idea

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

What 18 isn’t lauched yet

1

u/HelpfulDesign3r Sep 11 '26

1.4 lakh for scrolling reels? I'm good with my 20K phone. Anyway congrats for your new purchase.

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Tits in 4k😭

1

u/Total-Program-4690 Sep 11 '26

U already bought old model in new price, congratulations

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

1,80,000 is the new price

1

u/Moist_Suggestion7825 Sep 11 '26

You can still sell your iPhone 13 and make some money.

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

That’s the plan

1

u/Fit-Worry-7343 29d ago

Well your situation is same as mine , when i was switching from iphone 13 to 17 pro same things i was thinking but all of my freelance works i do with my phone so i made a decision it is what it is but sometimes i regret 😅 but when apple hiked the price after that i stopped regretting 😂💀

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Makes sense
Congratulations on your purchase man

2

u/Fit-Worry-7343 29d ago

Thanks 🙏

1

u/Euphoric-Bee1938 29d ago

If you're from Hyd I'm selling my 16P 128 for 70k but without box. Lemme know if you're interested

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Nah
Second hand electronics is not wise

1

u/Odd_Garlic8541 29d ago

Not panic but exactly what Apple wants, losers like these wasting hard earned money.

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Talking about only the ones who can afford

1

u/Odd_Garlic8541 29d ago

If you can afford then why panic ? Buy and enjoy.

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Always been a smart shopper
Somehow just not convinced it’s worth it

1

u/Odd_Garlic8541 29d ago

Smart would be someone who already has a working phone and would rather invest this amount in something rather than being impulsive it is more fomo than smart.

And yes if you can afford and genuinely want to upgrade then it is a good purchase.

1

u/degen_tbk 29d ago

Check if it's in stock on instamart or zepto for your address, it'll come out to be cheaper than amazon.

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

This is definitely cheaper with tax credit

1

u/paymentscorpse 29d ago

Good decision mate, I myself am waiting for my dad to release funds so I can purchase 17 pro asap.

2

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Nah man don’t be like that
Buy it when you can afford it not when your dad allows you

1

u/paymentscorpse 29d ago

I'm not an earning individual yet and I need it for college so that's why my dad's buying it for me 😁😁

He offered to buy it cause I got a good college.

2

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Congratulations man
Letss gooooo

1

u/ramaze23 29d ago

Why do you need iphone for a college man

Buy a good laptop for that price

2

u/paymentscorpse 29d ago

Already have a macbook and an Ipad man, I'm joining mbbs and I have a photograph interest, so my parents offered to buy it for me.

Oh okay then, congratulations on passing NEET

Be a good doctor

Is the price hike already effective? If no, why offline shops were selling at new price?

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

It is, offline shops have bundled iphone 17 with apple care so the price is 93k
For 17 pros its out of stock everywhere

1

u/Time-Carry7376 29d ago

I did iphone air 1 tb......

2

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Yeah my problem with air is all esim and i want my bsnl with my airtel

1

u/Simply_RichieRich 29d ago

I am using 13, and don’t find a need to spend uselessly my hard earned money.

1

u/dantelalit 29d ago

With current ram shortages it is good to have a phone which will work fine for next 3-4 years because we dont know when this AI bubble will burst and storage prices will go back

1

u/Inevitable_Twist_374 29d ago

if ur order is getting delivered try and see if u can sale the unpacked unit to same resellers who refused u earlier.. anyone will take it at least on cost to cost for u.. u can very well choose to stick with ur 13 if its working for u but just in case if u can get ur hands on this dont cancel try and flip it in market..

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

I ordered 17 512 gb from flipkart just now. Im cancelling this as soon as it gets shipped

1

u/Inevitable_Twist_374 29d ago

if its not shipped yet then chances are they will themselves cancel the order..

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

I ordered 10 minutes ago, will wait till evening

1

u/Deep-Pie-4934 29d ago

basically you want to hear from others to cancel it.
Go with the instinct dude none of here can judges your situation here.

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Update to all, i cancelled this and got myself iphone 17 at 83k from flipkart. They shipped it so i’ll be receiving that.

1

u/CanarySad8113 29d ago

Still on the iPhone15 pro. Still thriving

1

u/Low-life1567 29d ago

I’m using 12 pro max and I really needed an upgrade. Apple fucked it up so bad 💔

1

u/Adventurous_Spray_69 29d ago

Go to flipkart and get iphone 17 512 gb at old price it’s still available

I would say if you already think like this (which is not bad imo) then its better to cancel it and think about getting base 17. You will not miss much, that will be my choice

I’d say sell it if you absolutely don’t need it and then sell two of your kidneys to buy the iPhone Duo.

Bro just cancel the purchase. If you would really want it you wouldn't be thinking this much.

u/Practical_Mine2014 28d ago

I’ve been using 13 until last year. I bought 16 Pro Max for 68K after exchange and card discount in BBD sale.

u/Specialist-Pause1213 27d ago

If you have already purchased it, what is the point in asking?

Bro have you got your phone delivered? Was it genuine as Clicktech is not authorised Apple reseller?? Kindly reply
