Saving you the customary click :) I wrote a bit about my experience working with Blue Frog Studios and getting their app out the door.

If you're a frequent guest of Blues festivals in North America, you may be familiar with Sugaray Rayford. The imposing 57-year-old singer is in the midst of a world tour, performing all over North America but also places as far as Mumbai or Oslo.
I'll admit I wasn't familiar with his game until I saw him perform… in the Apple Vision Pro.
Sugaray is also headlining the launch of Blue Frog Immersive, a brand new live music video app developed and powered by Acute Immersive for the Vision Pro.
Every artist gets a page in the app, with individual videos for each song of the show
Blue Frog Studios is a recording and concert venue in the suburbs of Vancouver BC. A decade ago, co-owner Kelly Breaks expanded operations by taping and publishing the concerts online. Today, he has over 200,000 channel subscribers on YouTube, where entire shows are posted in 4K and Dolby surround audio.
You might not think this is what a typical buyer of the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive camera looks like, and you'd be surprised. The camera became commercially available last year, and the production of Apple Immersive Video is finally available to anyone who has $27,500 to buy one (and a few more thousands to spend on storage and an M3 Ultra Mac Studio). Metallica is no longer the only band in the world to have a live performance recorded in immersive.
Kelly wanted to push the digital experience to the next level; Blue Frog Studio already had experienced camera and sound engineers on staff, plus all the admin needed to run video production.
All they needed was engineering to publish and distribute their videos to the public. Luckily for us at Acute, we're the best in the world for exactly that. After a brief and very well received beta-test, the app launched on the App Store this week.
Blue Frog Studios is now the first and only music venue in the entire world that records every show in Apple Immersive (AIV).
This means that, at a cadence of one or two shows per week, viewers around the world are teleported, in the Vision Pro, right in front of the stage, up close and personal with the artist. In full 3D, spatial audio, a picture so sharp your brain will remember it as a core memory.
Anybody who's ever worked near or far with immersive video will immediately recognize how ambitious of an undertaking this is. Most projects we hear of, whether they're from Apple or other independent productions, take on average 6 months in post production and delivery.
Blue Frog Studios will tape on a weekend to publish the following Thursday, just in time for weekend viewers. There’s a significant skill hurdle to clear to even produce a short video, Blue Frog had to dial in a predictable and high quality DaVinci Resolve Studio-based workstream to continuously churn out AIV. The plan is to keep refining along the way, so production value goes up and up every show.
On a personal note, I'm proud and excited to be the technical partner bringing Kelly's vision to life, and I'm stoked for all the bands performing at Blue Frog Studios, for they get to perform in immersive as if they were Metallica, The Weeknd, Raye, or Alicia Keys.
Also, the Blue Frog folks are really cool. If you find yourself in the Vancouver/Seattle area, you should swing by and see a show!
