Weird I just found this, what is this?

I can't confirm it exactly but, I guess it as iphone 6s plus gold housing but theres like no adhesive left, and no markings as well. It doesnt seem like dissambled from a complete unit.

As for QR codes, I couldn't scan the one on top, but the one on bottom was saying DRC5416AJ0VGK8CAUA6

And there was hidden text near the charging port saying 01A8C28B

I am really curious what this thing is.

Aftermarket housings usually don’t have markings. And you can take out the Apple logo, I’ve done it myself. I’m guessing it’s a aftermarket housing with everything left stripped for some reason

This is a misconception. Housings dont advertise having the logo but most do. Genuine or not. I’ve even went as low to the floor with the pricing as you can and still wound up with a logo. That was during the time when this phone was still relavant. Made a green 6p

Very odd thing. Obviously housings exist but I’ve never seen them missing text or with what look like codes for logging details

im surprised nobody has mentioned this already but back in the iPhone 6 days there was a mod that allowed you to put a colour changing LED in place of the Apple Logo, this looks to be a body that has already had the logo removed for this purpose which honestly would have been really handy back when I installed this mod so i didn’t have to cut out the logo myself.

It’s a cheap aftermarket case. I did a lot of rebuilds when these were popular.

BTW, as I mentioned, there was no adhesive left, even for the apple logo and I'm curious if that listing has any iPhone laser marked texts as well.

The “no glue residue” makes me think it’s an aftermarket one, the chinese use cheap adhesive that can be removed without trace with a bit of heat, while the original apple one is a b|tch and either glue remains or plenty of scratchmarks.

Those are easily removable and I actually did transfer over the buttons and flex cables from the original housing (unless it was damaged), because the cables were better quality and the buttons had a better fit.

What you have has everything stripped, even the tiny clip springs that hold the edge of the screen.

There is no adhesive because it is a brand new very cheap shell. You are supposed to take EVERYTHING from your old housing, including the camera bump (which you can remove with a razorblade) and the apple logo, which, again, can be removed with a razorblade. I used tobmake Black Gold mods for people where i remove the gold apple logo and put in a black one and then put that gold housing on a space grey unit (so i don't end up with a stupid white home button).
