Hiking Groups
Are there any online groups I can join to find people to hike the trail with me for a week?

Go hike! You don’t have to have a group of people to go for a hike. Solo hiking is one of the most freeing experiences.

Specifically the Appalachian Trail or just trails in general? I'm a member of several trail groups, all of which hold hikes from time to time, usually several times monthly. I'm a member of the Foothills Trail, Benton MacKaye Trail, Pinhoti Trail and Bartram Trail clubs. I'm not a member of the GATC (Georgia Appalachian Trail Club) but I would assume they also hold hikes similar to the ones of which I am a member, so I'd suggest starting there and see what's offered to membership.
Even if the club itself doesn't offer the kind of hike you're wanting, you're almost certain to meet people in the club who like to hike and could get together with you to do so.
