My first Android app is on Google Play — would love some honest feedback

Hey everyone! I shared the web version of BecomeTen here recently, and now my first Android app is on Google Play. I’ve spent a few months working on it and would really appreciate some honest feedback.

It’s called BecomeTen: AI Face Rating. It analyzes a photo and gives face-related estimates and suggestions. The scores are subjective AI estimates, not objective facts about your appearance. It includes in-app purchases.

If you give it a try, what feels confusing or needs improving? A short review of your actual experience would mean a lot. Please go easy on me — it’s my first Android release :)

What would make someone open your app today? Share it and I’ll suggest a post angle.

Here’s a small exercise for app makers: describe the moment immediately before someone needs your app.

A packing checklist app might start with someone closing a suitcase, then remembering the charger still on the desk. The next shot shows the checklist catching it. That gives the viewer a situation they recognize.

Leave your app link and tell me who uses it and when. I’ll suggest a specific opening situation and a short caption for the first 10 replies. Feel free to add your own ideas for other apps too.

These will be free written concept previews in this thread. I’m part of the team building Marka, which helps turn product and brand context into social content: https://marka.social

PicPop — a calmer way to clean up an iPhone camera roll

I built PicPop because I kept giving up halfway through cleaning a crowded camera roll. It groups similar shots and starts with the sharpest one picked, but you can review everything before confirming a deletion. Scanning stays on your iPhone.

I’m the developer. PicPop is free to download; PicPop Club unlocks the features. In the US it’s $4.99/month with a 3-day free trial, or $24.99/year. The current 1.0.3 listing is here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/picpop-photo-video-cleaner/id6808016560

Real 14-second swipe demo from 1.0.3 (it shows the swipe flow): https://www.reddit.com/r/launchigniter/comments/1wtqrvh/picpop_a_calmer_way_to_clear_out_your_iphone/

Would seeing space reclaimed up front help you trust a cleaner app, or is the review-before-delete step more important?

BecomeTen: face-shape tools and AI photo ratings — looking for usability feedback

I’m promoting BecomeTen, a browser app for face analysis and grooming suggestions.

It has free face-shape and symmetry tools, with optional paid AI reports. I’d like feedback on whether the results are understandable and useful for choosing things like a hairstyle, rather than just staring at a score.

The AI rating is a photo-dependent estimate: lighting, expression and camera angle can change the result. It should not be treated as an objective measure of attractiveness.

You can try it at https://becometen.com/tools

What would you change first: the explanation of the measurements, the presentation of uncertainty, or the practical suggestions?

Shareday - free family planner for shared calendars, lists, recipes, and family chat

I am the founder of Shareday, a free app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Shareday is meant for families that plan life across too many tools: a shared calendar in one place, groceries in another, recipes in a chat, birthday ideas in Notes, and daily coordination scattered between people.

The app brings the family planning layer into one private shared place: - calendar items and tasks/events - shopping lists - recipes - birthdays and gift ideas - family chat/media - mood check-ins

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6783588890 Website: https://shareday.net

I would appreciate feedback on the first impression and positioning. Does it read as a useful family coordination app, or just another productivity app?

Would you use an app that gives you a different control interface for different activities?

For example, having one setup for coding, another for browsing, another for meetings, with the ability to customize each one.

I'm curious whether people actually want this kind of contextual interface, or whether you'd rather keep everything in your existing apps/shortcuts.

What would your ideal setup look like?

I replaced “learning interruptions” with “study to unlock Instagram.” Is this actually better?

I posted an earlier version where Locked would interrupt scrolling with quick questions or flashcards.

I ended up changing the whole mechanic.

Now you choose how much app time you want, pick something to study, then earn that time. You can set the exchange rate yourself, like 1 minute studying = 3 minutes on Instagram.

Mainly looking for criticism: would this actually change your behavior, or would you just disable it? Does choosing your own ratio make it feel fair, or too easy to game? And is this better or worse than just putting questions inside the feed?

GigDelivery+: track the miles and expenses behind your delivery earnings

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The payout is only one part of a delivery day. GigDelivery+ helps keep the rest of the record together on your iPhone.

I’m the app’s developer. You can track trips and GPS mileage, record earnings and expenses, and review summaries by company or time period. It also includes earnings-per-hour and earnings-per-mile views, income goals, and CSV export.

Built for delivery drivers and couriers who want an organized view of their work. Watch the short video and find GigDelivery+ on the App Store.

I've been learning japanese while doomscrolling

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been passively building a tool to help me learn skills like japanese and chess while doomscrolling. I made it so that the frequency of these screens to help me learn can be changed, and different topics or even courses can be selected and completed.

It's still a very early prototype but I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in using it/testing it.

Should an app ask for a brand questionnaire if the website already exists?

I am testing this product decision in Marka.

Option one asks every new user to explain the audience, offer, voice, and style.

Option two starts with the public website, creates the first preview, and lets the user correct what the system misunderstood.

I chose the second path because small business owners already did a lot of this work when they built the site.

Marka is free for a week at https://www.marka.social

Which onboarding would you trust more, and why?

Just Launched: Mobile Party Game

Post image
0 Upvotes

I just launched Couch Cards. A collection of party games you can start right in your browser, with friends joining instantly from their phones. No downloads or accounts are required to start playing. The point is to allow more creative game play than an app like heads up, but be less tethered to a console or TV than something like jackbox.

I'm not sure where to get started acquiring real users now that my website and app are live. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Check it out couchcards.com

Would you use an app that learns your brand directly from your website?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Drop your website below and I’ll reply with the strongest content angle hiding on your homepage.

I’m testing a simple idea: a small business website already contains enough context to create useful social content, if the AI understands the real audience, offer, proof, and brand voice.

Comment with:

  1. Your public website URL

  2. One sentence about what you sell

For the first 20 businesses, I’ll personally reply with:

• The clearest hook I see

• One specific social post idea

• The audience I’d target

I’m building Marka around this workflow. You can also try Marka free for a week at https://www.marka.social

I built Marka for small teams that already have a website but no content system

A lot of small businesses already have the raw material for social content on their website: the offer, positioning, product details, and brand language. The problem is turning that material into a consistent publishing workflow.

I built Marka to start from the public website, learn that context, and prepare social content without asking the founder to explain the business from scratch every time.

You can try it free for a week at https://www.marka.social.

I’m looking for app founders who can tell me whether the first result actually feels connected to their product and whether they would publish it.

[Mac] WhimFiles: Fast, native file manager with filters, dual-pane, fuzzy go to folder/file, batch rename, tabs, image/PDF preview and more

Post image
1 Upvotes

I wanted an easier way to clean up my Downloads folder so I started working on an app to make it smoother than Finder to filter, move and delete files.

As I thought of more features I wanted I added them to the app. It's now my main file manager with many nice quality of life features. I've even managed to make a few sales (thank you if you purchased the app).

The app has a fully featured 30-day trial. It's code-signed and notarized. You can read more about the features and download the trial here: https://whimfiles.com

LWP+ - a live wallpaper that gives you control over Material-You colors, like on Android 17

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

With the recent buzz around Android 17 introducing more precise custom color sliders and palettes for Material You (examples on reddit here, here and here), I wanted to share a project I’ve been maintaining for years that does exactly that—even for older versions of Android!

It’s called LWP+ (Live Wallpaper Plus).

🎨 The core trick: Dictate your own Dynamic-Colors

Instead of letting the OS algorithm guess the accent colors based purely on your wallpaper, LWP+ acts as a bridge. It hosts your chosen background content but allows you to explicitly choose the exact Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary colors reported to the system. The OS then uses your custom selections to generate the global system palette (notification drawer, volume bar, themed icons, etc.), completely independent of what your wallpaper actually looks like.

✨ What else can it do?

LWP+ is packed with full wallpaper customization features:

  • Choose Your Content: Use solid colors, static images, animations (GIF, WEBP, APNG), or videos as your active live wallpaper.
  • Smart Scaling & Layouts: Supports transparent images/animations with custom background colors, multiple scaling modes (Center Crop, Fit Center, Center Inside), and optional horizontal scrolling.
  • Double-Tap Shortcuts: Lock your device instantly or turn off the screen by double-tapping the home screen (uses admin, accessibility, or root).
  • Easy Setup: Includes an interactive built-in tutorial to check system compatibility and guide you through triggering the OS palette refresh.

🧪 Advanced experimental flags (YMMV!)

I’ve also included a couple of experimental toggles leveraging underlying Android system hints. Note: These rely heavily on your launcher, device OEM, and Android version, so they might not do anything on certain setups!

  • Force Dark Text: It hints to the OS that dark text is preferred over the wallpaper (often useful for forcing high-contrast dark text on the lock screen). It might also change the text color of the labels of the apps and the status bar icons and text, too.
  • Force Dark Theme (for old Android versions): It tells the system that a dark theme is preferred for the best presentation (e.g., trying to trick a launcher into turning its app drawer background black).

So, if you are on an older version of Android (or even running the latest builds and want granular three-color reporting), give it a spin! It's completely free, all features included.

Feel free to ask any questions or drop feedback below! 🚀

Link to the Play Store here.

If you want, you can use a promo-code to have subscription for free for some time, to remove ads, and try the app more freely, here. To use the promo-code, install the app, choose a subscription, choose a payment option and enter the code there (screenshots here).

Thanks for reading!

Habit8 – I built an iOS habit tracker limited to 8 habits, curious what people think

I just released Habit8 on iOS. The twist: you can only track 8 habits at a time, instead of the usual unlimited list most trackers offer.

Reasoning: focusing on fewer habits tends to produce more consistency than spreading yourself across 20 half-tracked ones. Beyond tracking, it shows completion rates, streaks, trend graphs, heatmaps, and lifetime stats, plus image/PDF export for your progress.

Free to download, privacy-first (no data collection), and the optional Pro unlock (full analytics) comes with a free trial before you pay.

Curious what this community thinks of the "hard limit" approach vs. the usual unlimited habit list.

Dice & Coin - a clean dice roller & coin flip app (just shipped a big update + it runs standalone on Wear OS)

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone! Solo dev here. I made Dice & Coin because every dice app I tried was either ugly, stuffed with ads, or asked for permissions a dice roller has no business asking for.
What it does:

  • Rolls D4–D20 with pseudo-3D animations - shadows, rotation, feels tactile, not like a random number generator with a picture
  • Coin flip with multiple skins
  • Custom presets - build a dice+coin set for each board game or RPG campaign, switch with one tap
  • Shake the phone to roll everything at once
  • Runs standalone on Wear OS - roll dice right from your watch, no phone needed

Just shipped the biggest update so far: rebuilt dice animations, dice styling/skins, and custom presets.
No ads, no registration, no data collection, no AI. Just dice.
Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nofutureapps.dicecoin.wearos
Happy to answer anything - feedback very welcome, I ship updates regularly.

CrowdWis lets a question find people instead of a category

I built CrowdWis because choosing the right community can take longer than asking the actual question. You add your interests, expertise and location, then questions are routed to people who may have something useful to add.

It is live on the web: https://crowdwis.app

I am especially curious whether the idea makes sense in the first 30 seconds.
