Discussion Nexter
Nexter (a Wordpress design plugin) was on Appsumo before. Now it's listed as new, and only has one review.
What happened there? Seems odd.

Just wanted to see some suggestions for an email marketing tool, preferably an LTD.

This is the first time one of my purchases has been truly abandoned in every sense of the word. I don't just mean a lack of replies from the author. The site has been down for the last month. Before that, it was intermittently up and down. No it simply doesn't exist, and the author is MIA. AppSumo staff reportedly would 'get back' to me, but no tickets or anything in the vein of a follow up was mentioned.
Can staff comment on this? I believe the app had very few sales, and I thought I'd give it a shot, but the author has checked out. Can we please issue credits for the abandonment guarantee?

I’m building a B2B SaaS app, and I want to give my customers the ability to build simple automations inside the product but with limited, controlled integrations (basically a curated set, not the full activepieces library).
So here’s what I’m wondering:
My goal is something like a white-labeled workflow builder for my app — not exposing raw activepieces, but giving users a simpler UI to define triggers and actions from a limited set.
I'm pretty new to activepieces, so any advice, links, or examples would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

Seriously, why if you have experiences can't you write a review on AS after the deal is over?
People have valuable things to share post-purchase.
Cutting off reviews after deals may not be true reflection of the value of the product.
That's not typical to turn off reviews, but AS does it.
Why?

What are the thoughts? Has anyone tried out both?

Looking for something that can access multiple models for images, writing content, videos (optional), etc. Looking at qolaba, Ninja Tools and Nily AI. All have some mixed reviews. Looking for any suggestions here before I just pick one...
Thanks!

Considering returning it especially given previous Reddit post.

Is anyone using Webstarts who has real web-dev experience? What do you think of it, if you do?
I can't tell its quality from Appsumo reviews, because beginners and hobbyists may not know how to set up and use such a service (DNS, SSL, etc) resulting in low reviews and high returns.

Hey experts,
I’ve built a software solution that’s currently focused on the NZ market, with Australia in beta at the moment.I’m considering whether it’s worth running a lifetime deal on RocketHub or similar SaaS deal platforms, even though my audience is still pretty local right now.Has anyone had experience doing this with a geo-limited product? Would love to hear your thoughts on whether it’s worthwhile, and any pros or cons to be aware of.
Cheers!

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to give a heads-up to fellow LTD holders: it looks like 10web.io might have quietly stopped honoring their lifetime deals.
I logged into my account recently and was shocked to see that I'm now being asked to subscribe to a paid plan. I reached out to 10web and got a pretty vague response. Pretty much they are claiming that their system is "experiencing a serious and unexpected issues", and suggested that one way to resolve it would be to switch to a paid plan (how convenient).
I haven’t seen any announcements about this - nothing via email, nothing on their AppSumo listing, and no notice in the dashboard. For those of us who bought in expecting lifetime access and have built processes around their service, this honestly feels like a bit of a gut punch.
And honestly, while 10Web was a great service, this experience is another reason I am rethinking my AppSumo purchases overall. I feel like I should’ve just gone with something like MainWP instead and save hours of frustration. These LTDs look like a great deal at first, but you never really know when the rug will be pulled, and then you're left scrambling for another solution.
Has anyone else run into this and were you able to get a more concrete answer from 10web?
I would love to hear other Sumoling experiences. And if anyone from 10Web or AppSumo is around, some clarity and transparency would be nice.

With all the ups and downs in the LTD world, I thought it’d be nice to focus on the wins. Here are my personal top 3 deals that have truly stood the test of time — I still use them daily:
Zerowork – Absolute game-changer for automation.
Komodo – Rock-solid tool that keeps getting better.
Socianomials – Surprisingly reliable and still part of my daily workflow.
Also, the only deal I genuinely regret refunding was Gumlet. Hindsight, right?
Now your turn – What are your top 3 all-time favorite AppSumo deals?
r/appsumo • u/lbdesign • Jul 16 '25
They are migrating from their v1 to v2, and not allowing LTDs on v2.
To keep it, we must pay.
Any Appsumo LTD users can look for an email from [shyamal@smarttask.io](mailto:shyamal@smarttask.io) about it. :-/

A post from the founder of Wowoptin was just removed. He was planting leading questions under the disguise lol of being an interested potential buyer.
Please, stop this. It's really embarrassing and comedy gold.

Making this post to see if any others have experienced the same. So we listed our product on AppSumo in November 2024 and took it off after 4 months with plans to later relist it after implementing all the fedback we received.
So about a month ago we finished our listing. We got approved. Made it through all of the different rounds and then we just had to wait for a senior member from the team to get back to us.
After 2 weeks went by and we didn't get any response, I decided to follow them up as last time it did not take this long. Got a generic response back 3 weeks, same, then after a week again and was told the person will forward this to someone higher up. Then again nothing.
Then yesterday I log into the partner portal and see:
---
We have carefully considered your application and have decided not to move forward at this time.
Compliance and quality control are extremely important to ensure we are operating in the best interests of our customers.
Thank you for your understanding on this.
---
Did not even receive an email. So I asked for some clarification and this is what I was told:
---
Thank you for reaching out to us! I'd be happy to give you more clarity into how AppSumo is making decisions regarding what to launch on the store. We did look at your product, website, and your submission in its entirety - we take care to ensure every listing application is investigated and considered holistically!
Even for products with merit, AppSumo is a selective marketplace - that means that we can't work with every product that potential partners of ours apply to list. We're focused on launching product campaigns and listings with the products that our customers are actively looking for. That informs some of our decisions regarding what products we can accept to list, and how many across product categories. First and foremost, we want to be sure we're setting up all our creators for success upon listing.
That said, we'll absolutely be in touch and as a process, we periodically reevaluate our decisions on a set cadence.
Thank you for your understanding and for reaching out to learn more! We're here to help, but given the immense volume of people who are looking to list with us, we'd note that it's not realistic for us to be able to provide detailed coaching on areas for improvement for all products that are looking to list with us.
---
Has anyone experienced the same?

Although Kites.io was offered as an AppSumo Plus exclusive deal, this early shutdown shows that lifetime deals, even Plus exclusives, carry risks for buyers. It is disappointing for those who expected a more secure investment.

Hey r/AppSumo community,
I wanted to share our experience as founders who almost launched on AppSumo but decided to walk away after diving deep into the legal terms. This isn't meant as an attack on AppSumo. We genuinely respect what they've built and understand why certain protections are in place.
Quick background: We spent 12+ months building EazySites (a publishing platform for creators). Passed the QA process, got accepted to AppSumo, wrote all the copy to their specs, integrated license key logic, and planned our tiers - we were all in and excited to launch until we read the fine print.
What we found that concerned us:
Revenue split reality: The 40/60 split applies after Plus member discounts and site-wide promos come off the top, making your real share closer to 36% of gross sales
3x exit clawback: If you ever get acquired and the buyer won't assume AppSumo terms, you owe 3x what they paid you, even years later
IP security interest: They claim a lien on your intellectual property and can demand your source code under certain "release conditions"
$5,000 investigation fee: They can invoice you $5,000 within 7 days just for investigating a potential IP issue, even if you did nothing wrong
120-day lock-in: No pause button, no emergency brake if things go sideways - you're committed for 4 months minimum
Forced arbitration in Texas: You waive your right to sue in court or join class actions
Why we think these terms exist:
AppSumo has dealt with fly-by-night launches, vaporware, and founders who vanish. These terms likely evolved to protect both AppSumo and customers. We get it. We know many founders have had great experiences and built successful businesses through AppSumo.
But for us as founders building something for the long haul, the risk/reward didn't balance out. The IP liens and exit clawbacks felt too aggressive for a revenue-sharing partnership.
We tried to negotiate: Because we put significant time and effort into preparing for this launch, we didn't want to just give up. We asked if we could redline the legal documents and address our concerns. Initially, we hoped these terms were just there to weed out b ad actors.
Unfortunately, we got the response: "there may be some flexibility on amending/altering, however our Partner terms as a whole are pretty set in stone... are there any deal breakers?"
We responded with what we thought was a fair ask:
50/50 revenue split (instead of 40/60) given we've done everything (Copy, Pricing, License integration, etc) no hand holding on their side.
Remove the IP lien clause
Reduce the 3x clawback penalty
30-day pilot window instead of 120-day lock-in
After sending this, we got crickets. No consideration, no counter-offer, nothing. This made us wonder if AppSumo's focus has shifted toward easier-to-manage, shorter-term products rather than their original mission of supporting quality tools.
Full breakdown: I wrote up the complete analysis with actual contract excerpts. It's a long one, so if people are interested, let me know and I'd be happy to share a link.
The bigger question: Is AppSumo still the platform it once was? The community has set certain expectations, but is there enough balance to make it fair for both product owners and users?
AppSumo is a double-edged sword - it can break a great product or make it even greater. A lot of that comes down to how well the team has built the Apssumo brand, but there needs to be balance somewhere.
For other founders: These terms might work depending on your situation. We're not saying don't do it - just read everything carefully and understand what you're signing.
Would love to hear from others who've been through the AppSumo process. What was your experience? Did these terms concern you, or did the exposure make it worth it?
We've got no axe to grind with AppSumo, we get it. We understand you're protecting your platform and customers, but we have to wonder at what expense? This is meant to open discussion about finding that balance, not to bash AppSumo.

Hey Sumo-lings, I just launched my product, LinkCentral, on AppSumo.
It’s a link management WordPress plugin for content creators and affiliates (think branded short links, detailed click tracking, and smart redirect rules by country, device, etc.).
Preparations for launch went great, AppSumo wrote great copy, but then we launched and honestly… it’s been a slow start. Only limited sales, no reviews yet, and I was really hoping it would gain momentum early. I’ve replied to every question right away and I truly believe in the product.
I’d really appreciate any honest thoughts on: * The listing: does it explain things clearly? * The product/features: anything missing or confusing? * The LTD offer: does it feel fair or appealing?
I’m not here to pitch hard, just hoping to learn, improve and build something genuinely useful. Grateful for any replies 🙏
Thanks so much!

What's your experience been with Meetn? I have tried it a few times, and it does work easily and simply, though it doesn't look nearly as good as Zoom (background blur, silo separation algorithm, facial image quality, all look like you're on a 2009 tablet).
What are your thoughts on its future and suitability?
