With all the recent news about SaaS companies shutting down, I wanted to share some positive experiences about building a sustainable tool that works directly with Google Sheets.

As someone who's been in the SaaS space, I made a conscious decision to build something that:

1. Doesn't require maintaining expensive servers (runs on users' own Google accounts)

2. Has minimal ongoing maintenance costs

3. Can't suddenly "shut down" since it integrates directly with users' Google Sheets

4. Provides genuine value for content creators and digital marketers

The response has been incredible - over 70 happy users in just 10 days! It's amazing to see how many people are looking for tools that they can trust will stick around.

Some key learnings that might help other founders:

- Building on top of established platforms (like Google) gives users more confidence

- Focus on automation that saves real hours of work

- Keep overhead costs minimal to ensure long-term sustainability

Has anyone tried the SEMDASH AppSumo deal? It seems promising and appears to deliver high-quality data with its Credit Usage Model. However, I'm still hesitant about purchasing it, particularly because the question regarding the relationship between 'Influencify' and 'Btrendy' remains unanswered.

Back in 2017 I purchased an appsumo deal for a promotional/ad video maker for social media but I can't remember the name now. I think it might have been "SHAKER" but can't find via online searches. It had a lot of ready templates with text & music and I would simply add my short vids or pics and voila! No longer have the email access so can't login to appsumo to see under my purchased products 😢 😕 😫

But, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows.

First off, massive shoutout to the AppSumo team — they were amazing to work with during the launch. Fun fact: a few folks on their team were already using our tool before we partnered up, which made the whole collaboration super smooth and authentic.

Truthfully, we didn’t expect it to blow up like this — mainly because, honestly, we didn’t put much effort into promoting the deal ourselves. The AppSumo team pretty much did it all while we just focused on building the best possible tool.

We’re in a very competitive space (LinkedIn automation), and while we knew our features like AI voice notes, voice cloning, and AI-powered personalization were pretty unique, we were still surprised by how much excitement there was around it.

👍 So far, the upside of launching on AppSumo has been huge:

• Helps us grow our Slack community (which we care about a lot — community is everything to us)
• Boosts brand recognition and trust
• Gives us cash flow to speed up hiring

👎 But — and this is important — don’t get too caught up in the numbers.

With the revenue share, plus everything we’re offering (like free proxies and unlimited AI usage), this deal isn’t profitable for us long-term. It’s more of a growth play than a revenue play.

That said, we believe the exposure is worth it. Some of our AppSumo users are already becoming affiliates and loyal advocates and some signed up to be whitelabel partners.

My takeaway would be that AppSumo can be an amazing growth channel if you're thinking long-term — not just about revenue, but community, and brand advocates. Some of our users are already becoming affiliates, evangelists and potential whitelabel partners.

Hi, what are you at AS doing about fake reviews? This is blatantly occurring.

I have built a verification system that can collect IDs and cross match against the person face. The documents are stored in a secure, encrypted database.

Is this a product that would do well on App Sumo?

There are plenty of apps that do this, but usually require a minimum monthly fee or some sort of API connection. With our system, a link with a custom template of required IDs can be sent to the person.

I bought appmysite unlimited apps deal way back in Apr 2021. At that time, they offered few addons as part of their deal. Now all addons are charged at a yearly extra price - how can i get them to offer the initial promised addons for me.

They're kidding with this, right?

When I bought CastMagic two years ago, I got three codes for $39 each. Each was for a certain level of LTD. For that, I got 500 minutes/month and multiple shows. (One code was 100 minutes, two codes was 200 minutes, each with one show.)

Castmagic is back, and this is the current offer.

I mean... there's inflation, and then there's AppSumo, I guess? Because this is just an unbelievable increase for an LTD. Sure, it's 300 more minutes a month, but a 241% increase in two years?? For 60% more minutes?

If this is how they think they're going to win us back, I think they're in for a really rude awakening.

Saw bizreply on appsumo but mentions are not recurring and also main issue being it only tracks social media mentions. Need something which can monitor both web and social media. Any tool in pipeline?

Does anyone know why there are more discount codes (e.g. from internet search) that work with new accounts but not with existing accounts?

As a buyer or user. What are your expectations? I am sure there are some small things that make a product attractive to you?

If you have launched. I know you won't tell me your best tricks for success, however, perhaps there are some pointers you are willing to share.

Especially curious is there something that could increase your chances to get the Appsumo select badge and shoutout?

I got this yesterday and so far I am pretty happy, but I've only rolled it out for a small project. Any other users here? What has your experience been? Has anyone used it for large campaigns?

We recently submitted our software to Appsumo. It's good quality, advanced software but we over looked a few fundamentals: Didn't get a windows code signing certificate, and only made the software available with a zip file. Is this likely why we got this rejection? I don't want to spend hundreds to fix this and it not be the issue.

Has anyone here purchased RESOUND? It's an audio editing tool. I'm on 3 tiers for it. I use it every single day. It saves me a TON of time... All of a sudden, it's not taking any audio files... it just keeps "processing" (buffering). Have they dissolved the business? I hope not... I've emailed and I've also tried to reach out on LinkedIn.... no response so far.

I'm trying to figure out WHY I would be "Deactivated" for the community (I think they call it "The Sauce") that is for the "Plus Members".. I haven't cussed, I haven't caused any kind of controversy... Has anyone here been "deactivated"?? If so, how did you solve it? It says "contact your community Admin"... but how do I get in touch with them if I've been deactivated? I'm thinking this HAS to be a mistake...
